That was so helpful! I just threw my first casserole and I wish I’d found this video first. Your technique for the gallery is excellent and you explanation of lugs is the best I’ve found. Can’t wait to get on the wheel. Thanks for the inspiration; you’re a fine teacher.
Hi Joanne. Thanks for the amazing video and demonstration. I've been struggling a lot with centering wide and opening for things like casseroles. Going to try your suggestion for centering tall and then bringing the clay down. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. One of the few times I seem to be losing patience with the clay!
All of Joanne's demo's are really some of the best and most professional instructional clay videos on you tube. Her plate demo is #1 in my book. Her experience in ceramics really comes through in so many ways. Thanks for sharing and making me a better potter.
It’s been 11yrs since this video was done (or at least since it was uploaded). I cannot thank you enough. I haven’t made a full size casserole set yet, but it is certainly nice know I made the gallery to the small, ramekin size ones correctly. There are some videos online that show the potter using a tool o to make them. I was taught to make them as Ms. Brice. Cannot wait to find more of your work. Thank you for sharing your techniques.
Not sure if anyone gives a damn but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few days =)
