Joao Felix is not a winger. how many coaches still dont see this. Yes he is quick on his feet but thats not where he is most lethal. Play him through the middle as a 10 with proper supporting midfielders that can return those 1-2 passes he wants to play or find him when he makes runs. its frustrating when you can see glimpses of his talent, for many years now, but no one has been able to unlock it yet
i wonder why coaches dont play him like a 10, i remember during his first matches for barcelona he played an amazing lob through ball for Lewandowski his technique was sublime! also with his impeccable ability in the 1vs1 he can create so much space for himself and for others, i also dont get why? i suppose its his preferance and he asks to play in the wing? must be this otherwise i also dont understand..

Coaches are OBSESSED these days with "fast wingers" etc João has a sort of unique profile. It takes a bit of vision to use him properly. But most just want to put him in a rigid 443. Anyone who understands a bit of football can see what you describe, but they are too scared to do away with their basic formations.
