Amen trading a sleazeball job like car sales for an honorable career. Car salesman yuck I hated it chumps who sit around all day doing nothing and wasting oxygen.
You’re dealing with Chemicals. That’s really the only danger. Or possible fall hazard into tanks. Just don’t be clumsy. Wastewater has biological hazards dealing with poo
its a good job if you can keep the politics out of it. which gets worse as a superintendent. 31 years and counting. started right after I turned 19. have a WT3 plant license and a DSL distribution system license.
i come from an electrical engineering background and i'm looking into a new career (currently 23) but i'm really interested in this field i might jump right into it
Dear Mr. Lee Lusted, my bf is looking to become a Water Treatment Operator, he has a Bachelors in Economics and a background in Special Education...he is also doing a career switch...he wants to try and take the state exam next year.. my concern is how demanding is this job? This job seems like a wonderful job to pursue but, can he be as fortunate as you? Can you please give some tips and advice please? Thank you!
Well I'm here because I see job openings for waste water treatment operators in my area constantly so I decided to look into it. Might depend on the area you live in though. But here in east texas there's a job opening for it year round, so yeah it's in demand where I live.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give me some of your professional advice I really appreciate it! We're in the San Gabriel Valley area in California, how can we check to see how in demand the job is in our area?
Toccata123 Professional? I'm not a professional lol. But to answer your question, I'm subscribed to Indeed.com and I get emails once a day with new job openings in my local area. That's how I know there's an abundance of these jobs around here because I see them frequently being posted. Also: My advice though if you can't find a job in that line of work in california would be to....leave california. The state is not a good place for working adults to live and work. Especially if you intend to build a family. Republican lead states are usually good places for working people and families. Good luck!
LoL...well you know your stuff and you have experience so to me you are a professional or just a kind enough person to respond and help me out in the working field... Thank you so much for the advice, that is a lot of useful information, you're right California is such a tough place to build a family and start work nowadays, my relatives in Vegas keep telling me to move over there! But, I do want to check out indeed.com and see what's in store for me around my area, a lot of my friends including me are just heading straight into the nursing where it's high competitive and impacted, I'm trying to add a chem class with 50 or so other people at a community college! Anyways, hope you have a great weekend!
***** how or what are the classes you need to get knowledge on this profession? I often see job openings in my city but I don't know where to start I known you need to get a certification but I can't seem to find a course to start or is it a basic test?
From what I know as a water treatment plant (drinking water) all test are done right at the plant twice a shift. samples are sent to DEP on occasion for them to test your water too.
Any vacancies available in stp technician or operator we have institute in india delta water management training centre.is there any vacancies please inform me
No... While I'm not a plant operator. I have worked in several scientific and industrial settings. This job should be fairly safe other than maybe handling significant amounts of treatment chemicals which could/would be dangerous in large amounts. Pumps may also use high voltages and currents, but common sense goes a long way in industrial environments. I'm looking at switching into this industry as my background has limited opportunities in most areas.
