Go Jobies! Great job Annabelle! You have been representing JDI beautifully this year. Nebraska Job’s Daughters is excited to welcome everyone “home” this summer for Supreme Session. From the Nebraska Grand Guardian and Past Bethel Guardian of Nebraska Bethel #1, Mother Bethel of the World!
Senior DeMolay and Master Mason here. I am from Brazil. The two orders of young people, DeMolay and Job's Daughter, are present throughout Brazilian territory. Here is the biggest Masonic investment in youth. It is a beautiful work that Freemasons do for a better world. Congratulations on the interview.
Thank you for highlighting Job's Daughters! I'm a proud PHQ and Majority Member, and my 2 daughters are both PHQs as well. I am also an adult volunteer. I hope this video helps us continue to grow!
Great video, brother. I’m a Senior DeMolay, PMC and Chevalier. Today I’m a Master Mason and during my youth I had spent a lot of time supporting DeMolay Order and JDI. We as masons, honorable need to give them support.
Thank you for this. In the early 1990s when my wife and I were in the area we became Advisors to Bethel #22 in Alexandria VA. I was the ABG and my wife the Guardian Council Secretary. This lasted until we had out first child, a boy, and no one wanted a boy, even a baby, at the meetings.
I’m sorry that happened! The changes the girls are proposing to the ritual currently will actually change that. It states that infants and children under 2 are allowed in meetings, because this is often a very hard problem for parents.
Awesome video Maynard!! I think your shirt would look really good with a half zip or half button Aran sweater. They’re also great for layering with suits! Have a great day sir.
Can I ask ? Why Is this organisation called "job's Daughters"? Is there a reason or meaning , behind the name? Didn't they all ofJob's daughters die"? In the Book of Job, Chapter 1, it is written: "Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house; and a messenger came to Job and said, 'The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them, when the Sabeans raided them and took them away-indeed they have killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!' While he was still speaking, another also came and said, 'The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, and consumed them; and I alone have escaped to tell you!' While he was still speaking, another also came and said, 'The Chaldeans formed three bands, raided the camels and took them away, yes, and killed the servants with the edge of the sword; and I alone have escaped to tell you!' While he was still speaking, another also came and said, 'Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house, and suddenly a great wind came from across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell on the young people, and they are dead; and I alone have escaped to tell you!'" This passage describes the tragic events that befell Job's family, including the death of his sons and daughters when a great wind collapsed the house where they were feasting.
It’s a good question. First, the book of Job is ultimately about trusting God over Satan even in times of suffering. Any person of faith has times of doubt. But Job remain resolute even in the worst circumstances. A good lesson for us all. The Daughters recount the story in their allegories. Also Job 42:15 says “there were none more fair than the daughters of Job”.
The ending of the book shares that God restored Job's family and possessions after his trial. Job's Daughters is based upon Job 42:15, "And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job, and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren." Job's Daughters believes that to be "fair" is to do good -- we are here to reach out and make a difference in the world. The second part of the verse is equally important -- Job saw his daughters as equal to his sons and treated them accordingly. Job's Daughters was founded in 1920, just as women were getting the right to vote. Our founder wanted to teach young women the basics of citizenship and democracy so they would have an equal footing in the world.
