Hi Shweta, can you please let us know if work ex in profiles not related to MBA curriculum,....say designing for example is considered useless by recruiters during summers?
@@meghnasaha4349 hey, not at all - it's all about having work-ex. If it's relevant, it can ofc increase your chances of getting into a similar company. But it's never considered useless
@@Shweta-Arora I have one question dear I am studying mechanical engineering in England And if I clear cat exam I am eligible for business school?? Uk degree is valid for admission?? Let me know please
Hey guys, sorry to those who are non-Hindi speakers, there's been some emergency at my place so couldn't get the time to add subtitles, here's a quick summary: - Even though I was a fresher when I did my MBA, I feel one must do a job after graduation because of 5 reasons: 1. It helps you learn more from the MBA degree and also helps you add more value to the batch due to industrial knowledge. 2. You can finance your MBA and daily expenses to a large extent. 3. You get to figure out if you're even a fit for MBA/corporate world. 4. You get better placements during lateral hiring. 5. You increase chances of selection for MBA espc if you have bad academic scores. Reasons why you should do an MBA right after grad: 1. It pays very well and you get a high position straight after college. 2. There's no inertia to study again. 3. You get to change your academic stream
Hi di , my self Yogesh verma , I am preparing for SNAP and CMAT but the problem i am facing that i am not able to concentrate on what i am studying i now my english is not much as good but pls can you help me out !?
Shweta you have no idea how helpful this video was. I have been constantly going back and forth on this same topic, beating my self up thinking if I don’t do an MBA right now( as a fresher) I am setting myself up for a failure even though a large part me wants to do a job. This is just helped me in bringing back faith in my decision and peace to my state of mind. Love this channel! More power to you!!
I asked the same question on one of your videos in the comment section...and aye you just made a video out of that. Thank you so much. Much respect to you🙏🏾✊🏾❤
That’s probably a guidance in the right direction. But more importantly you can only make a true appreciation of a use case when you can relate it to your own experience or exposure (in direct or derived form). The essence of a MBA is not all about a starting high salary. The focus should be on sustained growth
Don't go for any rat race. It is very important to get clear about what you actually want to do. And this will come after you work between different experts and figure out your sole purpose and vision.
Thankyou so much di . Everyday being in this dilemma and not being able to reach to a conclusion felt stressful. Thankuu once again of the much needed guidance. ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Bang on ! Just what i needed. Keep posting such useful videos. I hope you also diversify your channel to important topics like the trending courses of the time, or courses related to respective job sectors to upgrade their skills and many more. Keep up the Good work !! :):)
Thanks for the video. Would love to suggest you something for the setup- i feel the video exposure is a bit high you can try turning off backlights and only using ring light from the top and you can get some RGB lights for the background. Ekdum aesthetic look ho jayega😁 Waiting for the ad analysis video
@@Shweta-Arora i also can't wait to see you hit 100k but I'd say camera sey zyada zaruri lighting and audio hai but chalo you'll know better you see cathrin after all 😁
I have a question:- - What if someone who has given CAT last year but failed to crack it has a goal to get admitted this year in a top B- school {BUT} feels too lazy to study, what if he only wants to study for a limited time( without any pressure of solving 5 rcs , 20 quant questions per day { i usually find timetables like this online}), can such a person:- a) be able to make it to a top college b) how would you motivate yourself in a similar situation to study for the CAT exam, given that the last year's score still haunts you. P.S :- the guy is me - My desire to do an MBA & build a network comes from my heart ( hence I'm giving it another chance ). Love your content✨ & Also is it ok if you skip practice of verbal/quants for a day.
The simple answer I have is to fix a weekly target. Then solve it as per your wish and will. You do need some discipline in life to succeed, be it whatever. So, give yourself the flexibility but stay determined to work too.
Hello didi! Hope you are doing good :) The video did definitely gave many insights didi. But it's also making me question my decision of doing an MBA as a fresher. So now I'm actually in a dilemma as if I need to drop my idea or continue with it. My confusion is actually quite because I made a plan and now this new piece of information is making me doubt and I don't want to miss out on the learning part as well that we get after some work ex as suggested in the video. So yeah didi, I would like to know your opinion.😅
First focus on getting a admission offer in hand. Once you have it, you can then ask yourself "Can I go through this again and do better?" If the answer is yes you may repeat. But CAT is a journey of uncertainties, I still regret not joining an IIM after CAT 2019.
I can understand this concern, I had it too. See, if you're getting a good job opportunity, then it makes sense to get some experience but if you don't have the opportunity you'd like (both in terms of role and package) or if you're very certain you're a fit for the managerial roles, then do an MBA right after.
There was a time when I had the same doubt and saw one of her video that helped me believe that mba direct after graduation is good and there's no compulsory to have work experience. Thanks for making me worried again..
At the end of the day it's your call like I mentioned in the video. In the previous video I had shared that I faced no issues as a fresher in terms of placements, but it certainly is less value-add than a working professional. Please watch the complete video to get a holistic idea. Have shared pros of both choices.
Hi Shweta, you are doing a great job. I request you to please give a detailed video on executive mba . I am doing job from last 5 year and now want to do MBA( credit goes to detailed videos provided by you).
This is one of the important video, as i think this was in Hindi as usual nothing understand 😞😞😞.Kind request plzzz add subtitle atleast for this video ..
Hi ma'am. First of all thank you for explaining all the advantages and disadvantages. I am currently pursuing my graduation in B.sc mathematics honours from University of Calcutta and I am in final sem right now. This year I am planning to start my preparation for CAT, XAT ETC. Should I take a job first? Or should I start my MBA prep right after graduation? Which would be beneficial for me? I am really concerned about this matter and puzzled by some people's opinion. It will be very helpful if you suggest me about what should do next.
I just cleared my HR Generalist test today with 714 marks and saw this video...I'm a XAT aspirant. Glad i found this video today 😅 I'm obviously at right path now.
Hey could you please make your vidoes in english. I know most of your vidoes are in english, but hindi vidoes are difficult to follow. If possible add subtitle. Keep going with your great work ! You inspire all of us❤
Hey, really sorry for today. Actually I had last minute emergency at home, had to publish the video today as it was sponsored by a brand, I've added a summary in the comments. Will surely take care of subtitles ahead :)

Hi Shweta, great video! Wanted to know some things: 1. Do marketing companies prefer freshers? 2. Does the kind of job you do before your MBA matter? 3. Does the brand of the firm before your MBA matter? 4. I'm doing risk consulting. Will I get a finance or a management consulting jobs after this?

Hello Shweta, How can one simultaneously prepare for GMAT along with CAT? I want to give a shot at business schools like ISB as well and that would require me to be done with GMAT in a couple of months. I'm having trouble prioritising between the two and your inputs would be appreciated. There's not many videos on RU-vid on this topic; a possible video suggestion maybe? Have been following your content for a while now, you're doing a splendid job. Keep at it💪
Thank you for such an awesome feedback, one more doubt i would like you to address is that my son is starting his 3rd year BBA, what should be a better approach for him either to prepare for CFA during his 3rd year or to start preparing for CAT and think of preparing for CFA while doing his MBA.
Hey, will surely do going forward, I've added a summary in the comments. Today I had some emergency at home, hence couldn't add subtitles but had to publish the vid.
One small request, plz make video in English language because so many aspirants like me are from south they may not understand Hindi perfectly, so just think about it🥺🥺
Hi Shweta di, Can you please make a video for the 1st year Graduation students who are CAT aspirants.....Something like how we should plan our journey for CAT how should we start preparing from now on only....IT WILL BE REALLY HELPFULL IF YOU GIVE YOUR PRECIOUS GUIDANCE Thanks
Hi Swetha Di!! Love your videos and your intention to help others !! 🙌🙌 I wrote CAT this year but got only 85% (general category) Should I 1. Give another attempt for CAT and waste another year in this process. 2. Join Product management and design program in IIIT - H this year itself. ( Only interview is left. Relatively new course in IIIT. No concrete placement information so far ) 3. Write GRE and Try for ISB Work ex -2.5 years in Accenture as IT engineer
The pros of both sides have been highlighted. It depends on what you seek out of an MBA journey. If it's placements, you can join directly. If it's learning, then take work-ex.
Didi..u r literally so good..🥰😍😃 Most of the time I get a doubt..sooner or later I get a perfect and satisfying solution from u Thank you Didi....😍 I was so relieved from the answer u gave in this video.... Didi... another request.. To do a job..we need to learn the basic skills like MS EXCEL and others, right ?....can u list some...plzzzzz
hi shweta, really appreciate ur honest views regarding job vs mba....i hv a govt job but i really wanted to pursue mba....i already hv a 5 yr exp in finance field being a mediocre GEM, my chances to qualify CAT r very slim....thatswhy wanted to write gmat but i m intimidated by less no of colleges offering 1 yr mba from india....people generally go for 2 yr mba....my age is already on higher side hence i wanted to pursue 1 yr mba only....but i do not know the pros and cons of pursuing it from india....plz do take out some tym and help me to take a decision for 1 yr mba in finance field from one of the best colleges of india....thanks a lot.
Hey, first of all thank you for the kind words. I'm honestly not so aware of the 1 year programs. I've heard ISB's is great! But let me try looking for some inputs and then share something.
Thank you for this video di . Will help in years to come Hello di , This is very first time im genuinely asking someone to give me a piece of advice . Di im in class 12th preparing for boards as well as entrances for delhi university . I m toiling very hard but im able to complete my tasktable to 50-60% . Even if i complete 90% of the tasks this goes for 2 days max and then i got burnout . I get stuck and that anxiety of not being able to do the best or not being the best version of myself hits me hard . Just wanted your advice di to tackle this problem as i have mere 19 days for boards and a month or two for entrances . I hope you are doing well Take care lots of love :))
Hey Sumeet, over time I've learnt something about ourselves as human beings - no one can get stuff done from us out of force, even we ourselves can't. Hence, setting realistic expectations, listening to your mind and body when it doesn't feel like doing something is only being kind to yourself. If you make a task table that is flexible i.e. that allows you to not take up a task if you don't feel like but at the same time you do what's important for you, you'll be able to build a good rapport with your own self.
Madem i am u r regular follower , but recently making videos on Hindi ,i don't know hindi in our state most of them don't know hindi so plz make video in english or make subtitle in english a humble request ..
normal mba vs executive mba ( Exp required ) Pro vs cons Exp required 4.5yrs exp will be good fit for Would be helpful if you could throw some lights on above
Thank you shweta di for such insightful video. This video have cleared my many doubts. I have given CAT last year but didn't score well and now i was confused whether to just prepare for CAT exam only or should I do job also along with preparation?
Hi, I have been watching your videos from a while now, and you are doing a great work. Just a question, I am currently located in UK with nearly 3 years of experience in IT and maybe I will be coming to moving back to India within few months. I was just thinking if doing an MBA after coming back will be a good move or not, since I want to switch from IT to some management level work?
I think you should think about 'why' you want to leave IT and get into management and further think a little about the job you want to get after mba and finally decide whether you can get that job without mba or not
Hey, thanks a lot, you can surely switch and it will be a good idea because the general MBA espc from the IIMs gives you the opportunity to apply in diverse roles and even change post graduation.
Hi ma'am, I love your content and it is necessary for all mba aspirants. I have a question for you that mba after Bsc in IIMs is possible? If yes, then what is the eligibility criteria for admission in IIMs ? Please answer
Mam, currently I am doing job but again I am confused whether I should explore ,or focus on Job or keep my goal of MBA in mind and start studying. So how should I deal with this dilemma?
Mam please solve my doubt. If I pursue my graduation from a govt college say ravenshaw University...and than try for iim..will it somehow negatively affect my iim profile or placement? Does graduating from a really good college matter that much in mba for iim?
Mam I want to know, after graduation what type of jobs we are eligible that helps us in mba. Are we eligible to do like manager post after graduation? Please do a video on that topic mam.😢
Thanks mam but my question is what kind of jobs we have to do that experience helps in mba i mean in what type of fields. Thanks for reply mam I got some answer from you.🥰
This is just boilerplate stuff tbh. In the real world, doing an MBA with or without a job makes little to no difference. There are freshers who bag more than work ex people all the time.
Hi di I've been watching your content since 2021 July when I started my cat prep! I have question which really troubles me a lot! I am a BSc. biochemistry student with 10/8/10 academic profile and no work ex! How should I build my profile if i want to get a shortlist in consulting or investment banking in the summer placement? And coming from a totally non technical background will companies even shortlist my profile in the summer placements?
Hey Shweta, I’m so grateful to you to help us all candidates in our journey. I was having a question and would like to ask: My acads are 88, 88, and 7.5 and I’m a EWS Engineering Male with a work ex of around 12-15 months in Business Analytics. Finance. I’m confident to get into BLACKI’s but I’m not having any extra or co-curricular skills. So how would it go inside the IIM when we sit for Internships which are based out of your past resume/profile because I feel pretty average when I compare myself with the peers regarding the profiles and feel inclined to choose a lower college due to profile, Thanks a lot
Thank you shewta mam for a giving clear cut info about job experience and for me or there are very few jobs in bcom is it better to do CFA alongwith CAT prepration ??
Hi! I recently found your channel and find your videos really helpful. I had a question regarding this one thou, i am currently on my btech (ongoing) so if were to apply for business analytics , and were to study to crack the test. I mean, would they consider me, since i am not from a business background?
Thank u mam.... for being a wonderful mentor😊. Could you please help to find out about MBA in Bussiness Analytics or Data science offered in IIM or other B-schools
PLEASE REPLY Thanks This was a really helpful video for me. I need a suggestion. This year I cleared CAT in OBC category and i may get rejected from CAP round & IIM ROHTAK interview. Results are not declared yet but the way I was grilled in interviews regarding my work ex. .i am not sure I'll be able to clear. . I dont have a good profile and i have experience of 40-42 months from a really small scale factory as an Engineer (Production supervisor). . There was no growth in the company where I was working. Even the pay was not good enough. I think I got rejected because of the quality of work experience i had and academics. . So 1st thing I did was i switched my career, and at this point of time the most easy way for me was to get a job in BPO. .so i did that. . So i want a suggestion what should I do. .CAT or GMAT this year? because till next year I'll be having almost 55 months of experience. .til the time i give any interviews next year. . . With this much of experience which MBA should I prefer Through GMAT or CAT. .? Even in the interviews they asked me the question Why PGP and not Executive MBA?
Thankyou so much for the content you are putting up. it's really helping us grow both personally and professionally. I have recently started to work as an associate consultant for a niche mgmt consulting firm post my bachelors. I am enjoying a lot in my present role, and also pay here is at par with the top consulting firms. We are an MNC, but comparitively smaller than the traditional MBB firms. Would this be a constraint in my selection for an MBA, like why would a college prefer me over someone coming from MBB, who has way more diverse experience than I do, if this could be a barrier, how would you suggest me to deal with this? Thanks a lot :)
Hey! That's so amazing to hear and I'm glad you're enjoying it 😊😊 It won't be a problem at all, don't worry, folks from all sorts of experiences are welcomed and you will ofc have a lot of value to add due to your unique experience. Wishing you the best!
Hey Shweta! Can you make a video on what kind of work experience do these companies look for? I mean which job roles or field do they consider under work experience of a candidate

Wanted to change my industry, I am an engineer in 4th year, that is why not even interested in placement. I am in Electronics branch and wanted to work in FMCG, in that case what can I do that? Should I take the IT job or work hard on CAT?
I started my cat 2023 preparation with good pase everyday I WAS SOLVING 18-20 VARC questions, 10-15 DILR question & 1-2 set of qa .. maintaining a decent percentile of 75-80, but from last few days i have completely lost my pase..i just don't feel like doing any questions ..what to do?
