How to get a job on a cruise ship? What to expect from the cruise ship job? All of that answers you can find in this video. Enjoy and do not forget to like it and share with you friends.
This is a little overact however it does explains the process you will follow onboard.. Ohh I remember my first contract everything was so confusing!! you get the sense of overloading your head with tons of information!! Patience is the key, by 2nd contract you feel more confident!!
As much as everyone will say good things are bad things about people working on cruise ships you came to work for money make sure you respect everyone culture and you be fine
As an ex-cruise ship worker, it is true, they work you like dogs and pay you peanuts. If you don't mind being discriminated for your race or color, if working 15 hrs. a day 7 days a week for 10-12 months is fine for you, then go give it a shot. I got to travel around the world, that's the only good thing I can say about cruise ship jobs.
Trust me, this video does not accurately show what a new hire goes through in the first days on board. In reality, it's much, much worst and confusing.
it really is modern day slavery. I've been on nine cruises and I simply don't understand how human beings can work these hours - you'll see the same waiting staff for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The cabin stewards are also constantly working, and it's probably the same for all the staff one doesn't get to see!! It is unbelievable. I know I couldn't do it!!
It's because many of them come from poor countries where there are limited job opportunities. Making tax-free US$ translates well in their own currencies, often making more than they would in at home. This is why you don't see bar staff, waiters or room stewards from Western countries as they would never agree to work for a pittance.
The truth is you work 6-7 days a week and between 70-80 hours. You are always exhausted and you never sleep properly. You also never get to make any real friends because you are always working. And crew from poor countries are treated as slaves.
Don't do it. Unless you are really poor. Because you will work 6-7 days a week,8-10 hours a day. Also you have to put up with tons of Indian management that will take advantage of you. Unless you are Indian too. Slavery is your keyword.
You all, those people were told to act kind, friendly as they are making a video and will be put on You tube, I've done housekkeping, dining room, Duty Fee Shop, shore excursions, accounting... except being a deck or engine officer. God, back then in the mid 90's the money was sweet, a lot of European people in the dining room, housekeeping... they are all gone as Europe changed politically, people who wre smart made their money in 5,10 years went home and started a business. I own my business now, teaching people how to leave corporate America. These people are hard working people, taking a full advantage of from the cruise line co. who pay less than 1% of tax in U.S. while on shore employees are just miserable, unhappy, trying to mock crew members(happened to me), one lady from RCCL, she demanded to be in her cabin at least a apck of diet coke daily, while she was already way obese, gruntling, miserable, unhappy, unattractive cow.
I don't know why people are so rude to the crew. I usually tell our cabin stewards not to bother with cleaning our cabin the morning to be a little easier on them. I've also bought calling cards and liquor as gifts (beyond the gratuity). Those people have hard jobs thousands of miles from home. Last thing they need is an entitled jackass passenger.
lol, girl thought she was going to get the bottom bunk. And this is incredibly cheesy. "Great job, I get to work long hours and send all that money back to my family in USD's! Oh how wonderful."
That is so cool 😎 to serve the food 🥘 to all of the people all over the world 🌎 and to explore all of the countries across the ocean 🌊 which is so cool 😎 if you ask me
For most it's a slave job. For the guys from Honduras and El Salvador, it's a dream vacation from violence and poverty. Every night, they are fed and have a safe bedroom to sleep in.
my friend davis he has there job on there criuse ship , always after 3 week he is cleaning the cabin where the driver sits and the driver he say, I am go for my brake, you steer these ship when i am gone . the driver he is gone for 2 hour and davis he find him asleep in there cupbard . now davis he drive there ship all the time and the driver he give him an extra 20 dollar a month to driver there ship but he say do no crash these ship or I will get in there big trobbles :-O
May be cool in your early 20s or if you come from nothing. This is horrible. If you want to travel become a flight attendant or Pilot. Work way less make way more. Its flexible.. and you get discounts to cruise! Many Flight attendants make 6 figures.
I like this video, it helps to know what to expect on a ship, and how to do it even training and it helps to work with others as well as that . so I don't see a lot of people that should say its slavery to work on ships, its just like working in a hotel same way but its a bit different. at sea you have your cabin to sleep and meals uniform all free and you have activities, I had a friend that worked on a ship he told me I should do it I never did because I got discriminated for disability that's against the law and most cruise ships had done the same to me when I applied and its horrible I have no backup I love to work on a ship and love to do this kind of thing I just simply cannot sit around like this it is a bad experience, unfortunately I worked with kids in parks and recreation and would be good on the ship with kids activities while parents do their own thing for grown ups and or just work in housekeeping, or even at concierge desk on passenger lobby anything would be good if I could find a ship under American flag or whoever is accepting towards me then I could do it, oh well we will see what happens it still failed but am gonna figure this out,
There is a Royal Caribbean cruise ship coming to Trinidad on Friday I would like to get on but I Sheree ann Philip from 16 Clearance Bissoon Street Pepper Village Fyzabad would like to know where is my money
No, immigration law requires it.  When a ship docks the captain must present the passport for any crew member on demand of customs/immigration.  Also, in the event of an emergency they can, lets say in an abandon ship scenario, get the passports to safety while the crew are evacuating the passengers.
There was a video of a cruise in Europe where a fire broke out on the ship. For some of those cruises the ship keeps the passenger passports too. Anyways the fire breaks out while the ship is in port. During the video you see people evacuating the ship onto the dock then all of the sudden almost a dozen security officers are seen carrying two big locked security bags off of the ship. Those are the passports for crew and passenger.
Clearly scripted and poorly acted but it does highlight some truths about shiplife: you don't get much time to get your stuff together once you're told you have a job. I had bout 13 days to quit my job, get the medical and C1D visa. The waitress getting lost in the crew area - it takes a while to navigate the ship and know where you're going. The casino dealer over-packing, but what grown adult brings aboard a large teddy bear? Depending on your job you might not get much time off. Cabin stewards, waiters, bar staff and back of house crew work long hours and may very rarely get off the ship. As casino staff, we were able to get off in port as casinos are not allowed to open in most ports due to local gaming laws. Sea sickness is a definite reality. I was projectile vomiting on my first cruise out and needed the injection. The actress here does a poor job. She should be green, almost crying and crawling into the medical office for it to be believable. The overall experience will depend on the people you work with.
@@RetroJames75 I only did two six-month contracts but I was very lucky with the people I worked with. We all got along really well. I think casino staff were quite laid back as our jobs were relatively easy and the money at the time was good.
been working on board ship for 2 yrs back in 90,s !! first so exciting coz got opportunity to see the world,!! but day by day feel like living in a prison with surounding people with bad and cheap attitude from cheap country !! working hours so fuckin long and hard !! to me it was worst experience and nothing gonna happen again !! hail no !!!
I have to tell you that Africans are one of the biggest places they hire from !!!!! I got friends from Africa that now live in cozumel mexico and he got there because he worked on a Cruise ship
The video may not show it but they do have many people from almost every race imaginable. One of the cruises I was on we had a black assistant waiter from somewhere in Africa. He was really nice and very friendly.
The fact that the majority of cruise ship 🚢 employees are not from the 🇺🇸 or 🇬🇧 should be a gigantic tipoff as to what life aboard a ship is really like. Check out other videos with less propaganda.
complete bullshit - I did 3 contracts in early 2000's with princess cruises and even today reminds makes me feel something in my stomach ... 3 stripe officier would never talk (never even looked at) cleaner ! .. same with healt care - doctor sent me to work with 40C temperature and laught at me while I almost falled down within staff service. bullshit !!!
Hi my name is Alex . but I want to work on a cruise ship but I want do cleaner jobs on cruise ship but I don't no for Reading too good so da is enything I want to no ok
Toerendra2 Mangroo hey mate. Yes so a really confident level of English is essential for most mainstream cruise lines. Like Royal Caribbean or p&o and celebrity. And any previous experience in the field you are looking to work in is required, like hotel cleaner perhaps? Hope this helps. It's a great life.
Wow ! Thanks, Graziela ! Could you please tell a little bit more about your experience? I am really interested ! And so some of my friends. We are considering a cruise jobs, but still are looking for a people like you to hear them out. Thank in advance ! And have a happy New Year !!
Kandarp Mishra So find out what position you want to apply for. E.g chef, housekeeping, waiter etc. They really like it if you have previous experience in the position you would like so maybe in a hotel in your country. Then you will need to apply either to the company or through a ship employment agency (I don't know too much about them) If you are successful through the interview process that follows, you will need to get documents that allow you to travel and work onboard, so a medical, a us visa, and anyother requirements that they will notify you about. Then you will receive joining instructions and a contract and there you go! Cruise work has mixed reactions and a lot of negative publicity but from my experience it's an incredible life and a wonderful job. So good luck :)
if this was real , ha ha ha , n yes they never show cook n galley steward really work , fucking life ,prisonner's have better life especially if u r not from euro , and thy salary WOW
Cruise ship jobs are nothing but modern day slavery backed by cheap seamen from philippines indonesia.mostly the pay is around 800$ a month plus food.they work 15 hrs a day and more.this way cruise lines build bigger ships all the time.nothing but exploitation.do not go to work on cruise ships unless you are from east europe poland hungarian romania these nationals are also cheap labor for the lines.the newly freed commies work for cheap like the pilipinos.norwegian german english dutch they get paid well due to prestige .usa citizens also get paid well.but thr lines do not hire these floks they avoid them.i was a seamen myself i know how things are played.these days i travel as a passenger.love fr usa and ahoi.
Unfortunately if your country is very fucked up, the cruiser might seem a dream job... You get to see the world & get new experiences, meet new people and so on.
I totally agree with you ... after 2 contracts for rccl and never again to this shit. Someone gets paid like a boss someone like a dog... Im glad I didnt knock out someone :)
It's actually a good job if you're country is a third world hell hole. You'll get your butt worked off, but it will be more money than you can make back at home. Mostly those people wind up in the kitchen or maids, etc. People from better countries get put in the kids areas, the casino (where I worked), and entertainment.
hi my name is toerendra and I want do cleaner jobs on a cruise ship but I don't no for Reading too good so da is enything me just want to no ok me from Guyana ok
Naah this guy's are not newbies they look familiar with the work already, now show us the real newcomers.who keeps stumbling ,bumping their asses just to get familiar with the place and with the thick accent.
Hey, I feel little sick, here take some motion sickness tablets and come back tomorrow. Our physician from some third world country is gonna rub in guava leaves and you'll be fine.
First of all It's fake with actors in it, romanian girl she says she is ass. Waitress is wearing a head waiters uniform and the philipino guy has really nice accent which is not usual for them.
Savage countries? More, like exploited countries! Study your history, dimwit! Most countries were either colonized or occupied by foreigners, during the last 500 years. Get a clue....
