Always enjoy your videos. I'm age 72 and in good physical shape and very active. Have been wondering if I may be to old to travel the world again. Just wanted to thank you both for all the great information.
Very interesting interview Dan. 24 holidays a year WOW !!!! Would be great to know what a typical salary and schedule for an English teacher would be there.
Even though a degree is typically needed in an academic teaching environment, once you have the skillset you can use it for corporate training, which rarely requires it.
slightly misleading when Ben is saying it is TESOL or TEFL certificate. TEFL is a generic term for teaching english abroad. You can get a generic TEFL certificate just doing a weekend teaching program. However The TESOL and CELTA are the accreditated and most well known and quite intense studying programs 9am -5pm for about a month and teaching to real students. Its roughly £1000 (in the UK anyway). It is worth it as you should get a higher wage if you have one of them. However 800 - 1200 USD a month for i assume full time teaching is a pretty low wage imo. Then you have marking and preparing lesson plans (in your own time). But if you enjoying teaching then it certainly opens doors to work in many places all over the world. (especially if you dont have a degree)
London is not only exponentially more expensive than Cambodia ... it is ALSO considerably more dangerous ... BUT HEY it's a small price to pay for muhhhh cultural enrichments
Good info Dan as always. I think Cambly is also a good option for people, no degree required for that as well, but this type of job you showed would get people the long term visa.
Doesn't get back to what? If you submitted your application and made a video like they require and they don't get back to you then maybe they have enough instructors right now, or possibly they didn't like your video@@user-tg5ck5hh2n
Great info ! I have a degree from the US. I also have a TOFEL teaching certificate, but no teaching experience yet. It seems that Cambodia is the place for me 😂😂👍🏽
Taught ESL abroad for 8 years. I had a professional teaching credential. Although it was a fun job, it barely covered my living expenses. Just because you’re a native English speaker doesn’t mean you’ve got the skill set to teach it.
He didn't forget. It's the single one main question anyone who clicks on this video cares about. This is cliffhanger marketing at its finest. Not hating; just telling it like it is. (P.S. - I'm a channel subscriber, and love the content.) Peace.
I just checked their web site and this is what it said “Typically, English teaching jobs in Cambodia allow foreign English language teachers to earn around US $1,250.00 (net) for working 80 to 100 hours per month”
Not sure. I sent hm an email. Thanks for asking. You could also send a question to him directly, I left their webpage in the description below this video. Thanks for watching.
Google search came up with this: $900 - $1,300 (£680 - £1,000) per month. Top salaried positions pay around $2,000 (£1,500) per month. Some contracts included housing, food allowance, basic transportation, one money, month pay bonus, vacation 15-30 days, health, etc but not sure what is current or outdated. The gentleman sounds like a very good resource and was it $1800 for the on location in Cambodia course and class training? Not a bad investment. Keep your expenses low the first few months and you'll possibly recoup that amount fast adding back to your emergency fund.

First night I came to Pattaya and after 24 hours of travel from NY, I rested an hour and went down to the gogo bars in Walking Street, I wound up bar fining 3 of the ‘super stars’ for a night I will never forget. That was around 2003, before smartphones came around, and girls were much more attentive, and wanting to please a man. Entire night was around $250 for overnight, but well worth it.
Can a foreigner that relocates there, work in any other type job other than teaching? like for a company as a sales person that deals with other english speaking customers? How much in dollars do teachers make on average? thanks
