Not voting for DA is basically voting for the ANC. I think all the anti-DA (anti Steenhuisen) have a chip on their shoulder. Seeems as they are morally superior. The black communities will NEVER vote or settle for a FF+ government - it's too afrikanse. If FF+ wants some action they will need to join the DA and let them take the lead.

DA wants Joburg council dissolved; ActionSA wants Emfuleni council dissolved and that municipality to be placed under administration. Provincial governments have the authority to dissolve municipal councils and call by-elections; Multi-Parter has huge chance of winning Gauteng. Do you see where I am going here?

I agree that the DA are too arrogant, they need to humble themselves, they agreed to terms and conditions of the multi party charter, then within days of that agreement they renege, they keep shooting themselves in the foot through their arrogance, and in turn threaten the very coalition which they undertook to unequivocally stand by. Also on another level it breeds distrust from the electorate regarding their trustworthiness. At this crucial point in our country's future we can't afford this sort of double standards approach. Come on DA catch a wake up!!!

While a multiparty coalition seems to be the way forward it does seem that in South Africa every man and his dog wants to be in Parliament. There is a plethora of "parties", mostly one or two man operations, mostly concerned with getting someone on the gravy train. I think there should be an understanding of what constitutes a "Party". Perhaps a minimum vote count in the election, maybe a minimum requirement of, say, 2 or 3% of the national vote?
Old habits die hard, especially in tough times. They would be wise to acknowledge it - but theh won't, because they see residents as collateral damage. The anc being a destructive force will in the end wreck their chances.
It's us the electorate who are to blame, don't blame the DA. We created this mess by by allowing these smaller parties to convince us to vote for them. As it turned out we now have a lot of one man shows proudly announcing themselves as so-called kingmakers, resulting in us having to put up with this mess. We deserve what we get. Politics has been split up to such an extend that the organisation that has proven itself over last nearly 30 yrs to be the best deliverer(despite it's own internal squabbles) is denied the opportuny to take charge at a nation level. And this while the country is in freefall, long gone past midnight. I suggest that It's us the electorate that must wake up and smell the coffee, and stop enabling these smaller parties to sustain the chaos and add to the damage already caused by the ANC. We have a clear, proven alternative as far as good governance is concerned. No time left for fighting among yourselves. The only party smiling observing this is the ANC. Don't allow them to get away with what they have done to our country...not this time. Give the DA the Union buildings in 2024. What you do with your vote after that is entirely up to. We hold the power..use it wisely and constructively. Let's pool our votes behind the DA and save ourselves from certain disaster shud the ANC, once again, get back in that building. It's vital for the future of all of our children and grandchildren. There most certainly won't be another chance! Our kids are watching us!
The da along with the anc and eff are the biggest threats to our democracy. The Freedom Front, IFP and Action SA would be much better main options. We have a multi party system for a reason. People weren't voting because of the lack of options. So like it or not these small parties are needed.
As long as society represantatives think only in category of combinations of political party, or informal multiple societal organizations, either in capitalizm or socialis systems, the end result is global paranoia and colapse of whole countries slower or faster. Today reality of combination of speed imposed by technology, and financials systems, access to information in general, scale, discrepancies and spread of peoples basic needs being serviced, the tools of solving problems require new tools of how societies are organized. This is long proces of colapse and rebuild. This is beyond current peoples in powerful societal positions. Responsibilities for decisions are spread in illogical, crooked ways by now, all over.... 🤔
