I hadn't thought of this song in 20 years but once the first three notes dropped I remembered every riff and every word. I've got this on loop, it's making me happy as I have a massive 80s in Houston, TX flashback!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great memories dancing with my friends in NYC getting to the Club always late but just to make an entrance with a new outfit. We danced all night to the wee hours & went to the After-hours Bar; followed by going to breakfast & then go on to work without any sleep LOL, those were the days!!!

Sou brasileiro e acho que os negros americanos são fantásticos, não tem pra ninguém no quesito musical os caras são foda, nasceram com cordas vocais únicas , amo demais na musica, na dança, no esporte são os melhores.
Man Alive! I loved this song back in the day and LOVE it today! I hadn't thought about it in years. I still have the 12" single in my collection....I downloaded from I-Tunes and it will get a lot of play now!!! Loved her in the day!

There are some really good singers in 2022 they're just hard to find. As good as Jocelyn Brown, well I don't know about that, Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia Barrino are cut from this era though. This song is just so amazing, it's timeless. I'm from this era so I appreciate what you're saying.
I heard it on Sirius satellite radio about 7years ago, otherwise I would have forgotten as well.lol Love that song and all the instruments and her voice!!

Ms Brown is not to be played with! I love her powerful vocals, loved the background singers, and the musicians showed all the way out too… one of my fav songs from my teenage years
Is there a better intro to a song, that starts with top draw gospel/soul, and then drops the phattist bass line ever. If you don't bounce to this, then your soul is lost, and you need to go and find it.
Totally agree this is the best feel good song of the century it will never loose it's status as a classic masterpiece sang by a legend this song will stand the time of life
+Maria Fischetti Sho nuff was! All I can think about is my Mamma dancing on this...she left me this pass July...I'm still dancin with her on this... :)))
What a great song. WHY can't producers and artists listen to these songs are realize they still sound good after 30 years and do the same thing again?? There's a guy rap version that I cannot find. It's his reply and I think it's called somebody' else's girl.
+djharryg Do you realize that in the 80's, there were people who said the same about the 60's classics, and in the 60's, people longed for the music from the 40's. I have music from all decades, and I know that all different genres evoke different emotions to the listeners. There's a time and place for everything, and it'd be unfair for me to compare, 18th century *classical* music, to rock and roll from the 50's, or opera, to Jazz from the 30's, etc. In reality, people who say that music nowadays has gone down the gutter are those who have no relationship with contemporary music, and who were left behind. Their only exposure to it is with the white noise of the top 40, and they make no effort to go past it and educate themselves in the masterful creations of the last decade (musical prodigies never stop existing, in the late 19 century you had the likes of Debussy, in the 40's you had Billie Holiday, in the 70's you had the Carpenters, and now you have Agnes Obel, Late Night Alumni, and Melody Gardot, amongst others). Trust me, there is good music out there, and if you get past the nostalgia of your childhood, you'll see that. Oh, and even by 80's standards, this was in no way the BEST of songs, the intro is a tad over the top (don't get me wrong, I love this song).
I-I-I-I... can't get off my high horse And I can't let you go You are the one who You are the one who makes me feel So real Yeah yeah yeah Oh! What am I supposed to do Oh! What am I supposed to do baby When I'm so hooked up on you Then I realise Oh I realise That you are somebody else's guy Oh yeah Why you wanna do this to me boy? (Ooh ooh ooh Somebody else's guy) Can you remember the times we spent together Sharing our days in the sun Then I found out that you were somebody else's lover After all the plans we made, now were shattered Still I can't get off my high horse I can't let go You are the one who makes me feel so real Ooh what am I supposed to do When I'm hooked so on you Then I realise that you're somebody else's guy That day in September, I'm sure you can remember That's when all the stuff hit the fan You told me a lie and you didn't have an alibi But baby yet I still cared You know I loved you so baby that I can't let go no, no You are the one who makes me feel so real Ooh what am I supposed to do When I'm hooked so on you And realise you're somebody else's guy You know I loved you so baby that I can't let go You are the one who makes me feel so real Ooh what am I supposed to do When I'm hooked so on you And then I realise that you're somebody else's guy (Oh I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go You are the one who makes me feel so real Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you And realise that you're somebody else's guy) (Oh I can't get off my high horse and I can't let go You are the one who makes me feel so real Ooh, what am I supposed to do when I'm hooked so on you And realise that you're somebody else's guy) I, I, I, I can't let you go no See you are the one who makes me feel so real What am I supposed to do When I'm hooked so on you Then I realise that you're somebody else's guy Repeat chorus and Ad Lib to fade
