Out of this entire podcast, the one thing that gripped me the most was when Peter said, "I can't tolerate mediocrity." I felt that in a deep way bc so many people have no drive to improve and just don't care that they suck at whatever they're doing. Like I care more about you sucking at your job than you do. That's sad.

Nothing builds character like trying to do difficult things under extreme fatigue or exhaustion. Being in alternate dimensions of fatigue to the point of hallucinating and trying to carry out a normal day and finishing, not just finishing, but succeeding in accomplishing your goals. That will make you tougher than anything because you know you won't quit.

I have heard many horror stories concerning medical residencies. It flabbergasts me why medical institutions would take some of our brightest minds, and subject them to this level of sleep deprivation and stress. On another note, thank you for doing this interview with Dr. Peter Attia. I make it a point to listen to all of his lectures and interviews. He is such a wealth of knowledge, and I love the fact that he is always willing to defy conventional thinking - something that is a rarity with many medical professionals nowadays. Dr. Attia's views on nutrition, and his criticism of mainstream thinking on the matter, have been life changing for me.

I grew up in Baltimore. i hung out on Eastern Avenue, played little league baseball in Patterson Park and passed by Hopkins Bayview everyday on the way to high school. Its so interesting to hear a "visitor" talk about how dangerous my neighborhood was. I always refer to it as a terrible neighborhood but not the worst, by far and Dr Attia makes it sound like South Central L.A in the early nineties.
