50 meters is a long bow shot on an animal. If you’re in a heavily wooded area an average shot may be 25 yards.

I remember my first time going hunting with my dad. I was 17, I had just got see him for the first time that year and we where both still getting used to each other. I had been on a marksmanship team so I understood how to shoot but never experienced that much adrenaline as I did when I tried to put the crosshairs on that first deer. Small game, I had no problem with but when I was finally in range and ready to shoot, my leg was shaking so bad that it was actually lifting completely off the ground. I was nervous and anxious because I didn’t want to screw it up in front of him. That was 22 years ago. I still love to shoot and hunt. I can’t bow hunt anymore do to a spine injury/ surgeries and the rest that go along with that sort of stuff. The AF med. retired for it. I haven’t gone out in the last couple of years though. I just can’t do the needed movement to get into a good spot and even though I can hunt on special land from my vehicle, it just doesn’t seem the same. It’s like I’m just going to the store... I still get out and shoot some. I do need to trade in my bolt action for a lighter weight platform though.

The way we hunt today as appear after the veteran of WW2 who were now accustomed to a new way of fighting. When the u.s. pulled back they got a lot of highly perceptive and now jungle skilled . That was the biggest jump in hunting.

Ahhhhhh the playing with sticks days it was always in the fall too. That's when all the branches fell so it be nice and cold too so when your friend swings it and cracks your knuckles it feels great lol. I don't think there is a public land Vs private land camp. It is that it cost 15,00 dollars or more to hunt private land. It is more challenging to hunt Elk on Public land because of the pressure
