I've lived in Joco for 14 years , we live in a family household of 5 homes , all family , well we have a casita #6, under construction too , this house has been in the family for over 85 years . I know of at least 6 rentals on my block , never seen a "Si Renta " sign on any of them and the tennets have changed many times over the years . I don't think most Expats would rent them anyway , most don't have a kitchen they would be used too , or heat and air , our house doesn't have hot water , although we do have an electric shower head for hot showers. I should add , living in town don't expect to find peace and quite , there are 6 churches here , they all cellibrate differant fiesta's , some times all at once , bell's and fireworks at all hours of the day and evening , Dogs barking at all hours , venders on megaphones , and don't for get the loud music at any time . other than that it's great here , really I'd rather live here than any where eles in Mexico . Lets not Grigoises Jocotepec like Ajijic
Excellent information! I don't find any need for heating or a/c here. I do like a nice kitchen and excessive noise bothers my animals, though they are getting used to it! Riberas is pretty quiet except for the patron saint celebrations once a year. I'm just not very happy with the lack of concern about some things by the Chapala municipality. Jocotepec seems to have their act together a bit better. I really appreciate your input and I agree. I love that Joco is an authentic Mexican town.
