I got my first tattoo 6 years ago and I still don't regret it, despite some people telling me that they don't suit me, that they make me less classy or less attractive or less feminine. I have five and love every single one. I accept and appreciate that tattoos aren't for everyone but I also think that people who don't like tattoos should accept and appreciate that everyone is individual, and are allowed to do what they want with their body.
I had a teacher with a full sleeve, on his last day he showed us his sleeve and he was a hit with all the teachers and pupils. Makes no difference tattooed or not, he was a brilliant teacher.
the key word here is "impulsive" Completely agree, i thought and designed and redesigned my tattoo roughly 8 months before i got it done and it was drawn professionally. I dont regret it at all. But completely agree with Jodie on getting fashion tattoos, get something that is unique to you.
There is nothing wrong with being impulsive. Living in the moment is a a great way to live. I have a tattoo that I regret, right on my forearm! But it doesn't really bother me, I decided to get it and got it. One day I will probably make it into something else but it reminds me of where I was in my life at that time. People take this stuff so seriously and someone who judges you for that, or anything else isn't worth knowing.
The thing about tattoos is they are just not socially acceptable in some places, like you can get excluded from certain social groups for having tattoos of a certain type. For example, if you have a republican tattoo the you can't get into heaven.
I knew what I wanted at seventeen, but feared I was too young. I waited five years before I had it done and I love it. Most tattoos have a lot of thought put into them before someone even sets foot into a tattoo shop. Just had my fifth one done and I love it.

as for the "I will never let my daughter have tattoos" headline. Why. It's the kids choice, not the parents. Do the parents have to have ink on them? no. it's their kids choice what they want to do with their body, smh.
I love the fact this is such a polite, respectful debate. I think that's almost more important than the subject matter, simply being respectful of each other and allowing each side to have their say. Personally, I have extensive tattoos however I have kept them in places that can be hidden by clothing simply out of personal choice but it also means that when being employed it often happens that employers do not realise I even have tattoos. This I think is much more down to attitude.

as for impulse some people do, most people I lay ink on have had planned there tattoo for months, I have spent much time making sure the designs I do for people are what they want, it is art just like any art it is all about the person not what others expect of them, people who judge by looks are just plain up themselves it is just that simple
I have tattoos. I have big ones I have a few ones you can see. I want to do a sleeve, but i even thought about it, because of work honestly. Maybe in the future once my life is together. But the honest thing is if it your body it is your body. But people should always get something they actually like. I think all people should think what they should get and where they should place it. When I was getting my tattoo i put the drawing of the tattoo hanging on my wall for a year/over a year to see if i would still like it. And I did and then i got it. And they all have meanings for me. But I think people should really take the time to get them and where they place them at and what job you want to actually want do as a career for yourself.
I have 13 tattoos- all quite large, and i regret NONE of them. I have spent a lot of time considering what to get, and i don't really care about how it would look when I'm 70. In saying that, I can appreciate how employers don't like them, and some people can go overboard..

i have a bow with roses buds growing out of it, on my back shoulder. i love it, and nobody else can see it but me unless I wear a shirt or something that shows it off. It doesn't determine what person I am, and it doesn't make me any less professional in the work place. It was a strong stage in my life that made me want to get one. I have a major phobia of needles and not only does the meaning of the tattoo itself ride in it, but the getting it done is an achievement and a milestone for me.

Of all the tattooed people I know not one regrets their tattoos. As for impulsive, every one of my tattoos has had months if not years of thought put in to it. My right arm sleeve has been in planning for nearly 15 years! I'm not saying people don't get them impulsively but not everyone does. Personally all of my tattoos have meaning.
I fricking love Jodie's tattoos. Especially the MJ and Buddy Holly.. you can tell she's a real fan :D I don't really know much about her personal lifestyle and w/e, but she seems pretty darn awesome :D x
i agree with jodie it took me about a year to get mine you really have to think before you get them i have two ..one in memory of my dad and one in memory of my mum. im 48 and only got them done this year.i wont be getting any more not because i now regret it far from it i love them its because thats all i wanted to honour my parents..and now my spiritual life (if you can call it that) and my well being are complete

I may be a gay guy but I am in love with Jodie Marsh.... I think she always has a valid opinion and is never full of herself despite being as amazing as she is. I really respect her and admire her journey.
Always higher classes that judge people. Every single person with tattoos who I know are great and lovely people. It doesn't make a difference. People just need to stop judging and get to know people before making an opinion.
Yeah, I wouldn't get a fashion tattoo or a spur of the moment tattoo, or just personally anything too big because I'm terrible with pain. But I do want one quote, sunt lacrimæ rerum, tattooed on my upper arm because like Jodie said, it means something to me and it always will. I won't regret it.

Not all tattoos are impulsive and not everyone regrets them. They are not for everyone but let people do what they want, Jodie marsh is a bad example on the pro tattoos. Some people who get tattoos are stupid but you should not stereotype everyone into the same categories, you should be over 18 and should think long and hard about them and get them for you and research your tattooist
They're both right. I like tattoos, but you have to be prepared for people to judge you and I can understand a mother not wanting her daughter or son to be judged. The lady said it in a respectful way, she didn't put Jodie down in a way that would've been quite easy. So, good on her and good on Jodie for standing up for the lady's opinion. Her dentist regrets the tattoos, because he is being judged, well probably judged by people like Marissa judge people for no other reason then being themselves and wanting to express themselves. As long as people are hygienic and have manners it shouldnt matter
Tbh i don't no why everyone plays the 'meaningful' sob story for tattoos like it validates it lol you've done it because you find it aesthetically pleasing, and there's nothing wrong with that. There are a million other ways to pay tribute to meaningful moments in your life without having the thing scared onto your body its like no.
I love my tattoos , mine are like Jodie they all mean something to me. I have always worked and I now own my own business and I would employ anyone with Tattoos . My dad is remembered in the town we live in for his tattoos .Blonde lady is a bit snobby .
My tattoo wasn't impulsive. I found a design and then pinned it on my wall and stared at it for a year before I even got it done. It was a well thought out decision.

Banning people from certain places or judging them because they are tattoo'd is the modern equivalent of judging someone because of their skin colour. "I wouldn't employ someone with a sleeve" is the same as not employing someone because they have a scar on their face or pigmentation on there body. This topic is silly.. I do not have tattoo's but I would never make someone feel lower than I because they have inked skin. It's personalisation, therefore personal, no other persons business.
My next tattoo is going to be on the other side opposite my other tattoo, it's what my mum has said to me when I was growing up "little acorns grow into big trees" when ever I'm down and feeling like I'm not doing so well in life, she says it to me. I want it written on my back in her handwriting. So whenever I look at it, if she's not with me anymore I can still see in her writing the little saying she always says to me.

I would only ever get a tatoo that meant something to me. I'm considering getting a Pac-Man tatooed on my arm (only a small one). Pac-Man was a symbol of my childhood.

I have put years of thought into my tattoos. All of mine have meaning and I hate people who say they don't like them because they know people who regret their own. People who judge others based on their appearance should take a good long look in the mirror. Unless you, yourself are completely perfect you cannot pass judgement on someone else and expect your view to be valid. People can do what they want with their bodies.

It is shallow to not employ someone for having tattoos or to dismiss a person as being beneath themselves just for having tattoos. This attitude is the same as any other discrimination. It is OK for someone not to like tattoos and it is there right to like or dislike such things. There are many not nice people in the world and in that group some have tattoos and some will not.
I'm surprised people are still so rude to believe that they can tell someone that they don't like their body. It's like going up to someone who (in their opinion) is over weight and saying that they don't like them because of it. People can be so disgusting and shallow.
