A 1985 news profile of animation legend Joe Barbera who, with partner William "Bill" Hanna, created such cartoon classics as Tom & Jerry, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, Jonny Quest and Scooby-Doo
Poor Joe getting told how to make cartoons by people who never held a pencil in their lives. He had already won seven Oscars for Tom and Jerry back when those executives were all in diapers.
At the very least, I agree with racial or sexual stereotypes, no need for that. Easy on the violence, that's debatable (I think kids know what kind of violence is real and which is make-believe). Limiting the vocabulary to one-syllable words is egregious.
I feel sorry for him. Tom & Jerry was ruined by the broadcasters when they were brought back, and I'm sure he hated the Godzilla cartoon Hanna-Barbera did.
That also explains why he had trouble getting the Bible stories to TV (the Greatest Adventures series), but then he found he could sell them direct-to-video.
Tom Cat, Jerry Mouse, Huckleberry Hound, Fred Flintstone, Yogi Bear, Jonny Quest, Penelope Pistop, and Scooby-Doo are truly the forefounders of this Fun, Fun, Fun, FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC World!
He Made My Childhood Fun And Now It's All Wars And I Wish I Was A Cartoon And Live In A Fanatsy World Thanks Joe And Bill For The Worderfull Memories And RIP
