I remember (I’m old) seeing this 13-14 year old kid from the Mohawk valley playing in a club called “Tiger’s “ in the outskirts of the capital district, back in the day, and thinking, this kid is going to make his name when he’s older. Who knew I was witnessing the beginning. I’m sure Joe,after playing all over the world, reflects back on it fondly, his hard work and his humble beginnings. We would all go to the “Palace” in Albany to see the “big” bands play there. Seeing him play there, it’s full circle for me.🙏🙏 Amazing 🤟
Great stuff! I know Joe owns tons and tons of vintage gear, and I truly respect his decision to take that stuff on the road and actually use it. I would personally be so concerned about anything from that Klon to the ‘59 LP getting stolen, I wouldn’t be able to leave the stage or focus on the gig. I’m sure he has great security and insurance, but as he says, this is over $1,000,000 worth of gear just sitting on a stage. Amazing.
Yep..in Joe's case, the right guy achieved the success. You couldn't ask for a better guy to be 'the guy'. He is the example of how to act when u r famous.
He's the best businessman around, no doubt. He's also a robotic and predictable guitar player, and a weak songwriter. Actually, he's more a businessman than an artist.
@@shook9042 if you mean playing live, yes. If you mean the playing style, i would rather want to be like SRV or GM: flawless and memorable solos, great songwriting, and less marketing.

Almost a hometown show for Joe. Couple hours down the Thruway from Utica. Personally seen a hundred or more shows there. Beginning in the nineteen seventies. The ceiling dripped tar from smoking in the eighties and was black. The place is beautifully restored to like new today. And the ceiling is insanely ornate. The Palace in Albany is probably the theater in the Northeast every Great has played. Joes rig is the gold ring on every finger, 5 gold chains, diamond encrusted Rolex "Baller " rig of all time !
Joe actually has the most complex live setup I´ve seen, this amp do this, this amp do this, this amp is on all the time, but only with that amp over there and those cabs right there, along with this pedal here only, and this amp goes with those two cabs over there as a slave to that amp right there, this pedal is straight through the flanger and in to this box right here and then it goes to those two amps over there, that's the clone pedal right there and it only for this amp right there and only on flanger .... hahaha Joe is one of the very best in this business :D
@@MrJackrockermanit’s still a great rig rundown. The only camera work I thought about, was when he covered his pedals, I wish they would have gotten better shots of his board. Still worth the watch.
Post covid and back on the road, went back to the old rig, but then built the "amp shanty" with all these. Love all the Bonamassa era's but the fenders were my favourite.
@@GeetarSi I feel like a lot of these guys always try to act like they know every intricate detail about the rig to whatever star they're talking to and they try to be all "breezy" about it or something. The guys at Sweetwater do it. The guys at Premier Guitars do it. The reality is these rigs are extremely engineered and are not just fly by the seat of your pants like most mere mortals play through. Joe himself was even saying "I'm an idiot" multiple times during this because he knows that without some audio engineer telling him things to try he would probably blow up every one of those Dumbles in about 2 seconds flat.
Im totally opposite on this, love these guys for being professional, clear and nice. Most other interviewers have their styles, but these genuinely feel engaged and positive. Nothing wrong with that

@@mrJimCharles Dude oddly enough Nigel Tufnel got his guitars from Norm's as well. That whole Nigel scene had guitars supplied by Norm. Joe is literally a self fulfulling prophecy at this point! Lol!!!
Lots of passive aggression going on here in this interview from both sides! You could cut the tension in the air with a knife. The interviewer is a total doofus...completely clueless...standing in front of the camera...asking dumb questions etc But having said that Joe B can be a really spikey individual too. I once had a very short conversation with him where he got very offended with me asking him if he did a particular "tone trick", and his reply was if to say... "OF COURSE I DO!" ....as if he was offended that I even should ASK such a question of HIM! 😂 He is clearly a skillful player, but he IS sounding very "Eric Johnson/Samey" lately, and I wonder if audiences will eventually tire if it? I guess at least if they DO...he can sell all that gear and buy a private island in the Caribbean 😁
My fantasy is seeing JB give this exact rig rundown to a poor working mother or someone like that, only he has to also state the value of each piece of gear 🤣. At a certain point this stuff is just gross.
Potentially great content from Joe as always.. flawed by the incessant "got it'" comment from the interviewer who thought his back was more interesting than the subject matter.
I think Joe believes people on RU-vid hate him. Not true. The ten guys cracking on him "for buying every 59 LP on the planet" are the ten dumbest guys in the room. Joe is awesome. Somebody tell him not to let envious morons get to him.
For some reason the interviewer infuriated me more than any other interviewer I’ve seen in a gear video. Just seemed entitled and like he was forcing it.
Saw him this past spring. It was so loud it was horrendous. Probably the worst audio show i have ever seen. He needs to go out in the audience and listen to himself. Find a clone Joe and do that. Cause it sticks out there. Saw leonid couple months later, same venue, it was night and day.
Always interesting seeing what a crazy cool set up looks/ sounds like. Joe is keeping us dreamers fed. Nice, but the guy doing the interview? A little awkward, doesn't know where to stand or ask...frankly a bit annoying.
