I am a 56-year-old woman and this hit me harder than my father's death, and I loved my father. This is because my father lived his life to the fullest l am not a Hip-Hop, fan perse or should I say I don’t like the artistry it portrays or the foul language. With all that said I adored Takeoff because of his disposition and mannerisms. He was such a humble young man. My condolences to the entire family. I can't imagine his mother's pain. Never heard a Migos song prior to Takeoff's passing. I'm from the Run DMC era. The comparison between the Migos and Run DMC is spot on. The pain and shock I felt when Jay was EXECUTED is the same reaction I see with my millennial family members. I remember making fun of the Migos' flowered shirts comparing their look to Hippies and joking around with my cousins that those dudes weren't an authentic hip hop group. Little did I know they'd be a force to be reckoned with in the rap culture. After finally watching a few of their videos my heart aches more. We were robbed of pure talent. Takeoff had so much more to contribute to the culture. May God rest his soul 🕊
