Bro, we old it's a whole generation never heard goodie mob. Besides, respecting what the establishment determines as the best hip hop is laughable at best.
Yeah kai is slowly because like a spoiled person. Definitely not that NY kid from the BX nomore. When his fans grow up they will move on. I feel bad for alot of the streamers mental health when they see that happen. All the lit dudes from the early 2010s lost all their fanbase when they grew up too
To quote Kendrick Lamar "Everybody want to talk about who this and who that Who the realest and who wack, or who white or who black Critics want to mention that they miss when hip-hop was rappin' Motherfucker, if you did, then Killer Mike'd be platinum"
@@sunnymane sounds like a personal problem ma boi. Expand your music catalog, killer mike is the black dude from run the jewels. I know you've at least heard of them, right?
So Kia Cenat disrespects Killer Mike (not even first checking out his music) to glaze Travis Scott. But when Joe Budden gives streamers (not dropping any names) a wake up call that there is a world outside of streamers small small bubble. He gets offended and brings up money (which to your point doesn’t really take a specific skill anymore and isn’t “earned” like it once was).
That Macklemore opinion is really bad. In reality, he just had that one song that was forcefully played a million times and the album was just okay. And in terms of artistry AND popularity, people admired Kendrick more for Rap. What are you talking about?
Like that one song was forced on us and won a Grammy. Ain’t noooooo way he wasn’t a plant. That was a complete slap to the face for the entire culture it went deeper than him robbing Kendrick. MAC HIMSELF EVEN ADMITTED IT!!!
And the take of “well Macklemore’s songs were being played everywhere” yeah, they were being played all over because they were definitely more family friendly and censored the messages better but I swear I heard swimming pools a lot on the radio and stuff too tbh
@@LonnieLinezMacklemore acted in it's always sunny in Philadelphia in the early 2000s. He definitely already had roots in the industry, you're right. He a plant.
The problem is how u gon say u don't know an artist and also say another artist got robbed cuz how do u know someone got robbed when u don't even know how good the other project is cuz u didn't listen to it
@@CopiioFACTS I BEEN AN OUTKAST FAN SENSE I WAS 8 . THE FIRST TIME I SAW KILLER MIKE WAS THE MUSIC VIDEO CALLED WHEN THE WHOLE WORLD I NEVER FORGOT AND STILL REMEMBER THAT MUSIC VIDEO
No, some of us have different opinions than you gang. Im not a child and i dont have tiktok on my phone, yet i believe Utopia should have won. MICHEAL is a great album dont get me wrong but i prefer Utopia.
Children are the future not oldheads just coz his old don't mean he deserves a Grammy whole lotta people didn't even know who this dude was till they rigged Travis and gave him a Grammy. Not saying his trash but utopia and astroworld especially astroworld were worthy Grammy winning albums
Bro people don't get bothered cause you can't remember things off the top of your head, but because if you don't remember it, why not take the time to look it up instead of saying "now I can't remember.." no big deal anyway, peace
This vid proved a comment I left a few months ago about how you need to make a video breaking down the diffevent levels of artists. From coi leray sales to smash hits and global artist to international to local
Mike deserved it. I got the chance to go at Marshalls uk where he held a speech and presented his album. As much as I love Utopia, Michael is an album full of story and emotion. I talked to him after the speech and it showed how passionate he was to answer questions and help us younger artists. It is not a robbery, Travis lost to a goated opponent!
It’s crazy because I don’t like Joe Budden and was gonna comment something negatively about Joe Budden but then delete that comment after watching this video because Joe has this way of just sounding ignorant but when you really look at his point, he makes a lot of sense
Why do dudes who be 5’ 9” with boots and weigh 165 soaking wet act like the floor shakes when they walk in 😂 Kai would get folded quicker than a wet napkin
Joe and people his age will be the same ones saying that the young generation has no guidance. But at the same time. Not putting any effort to inform them or put them on game. Just causing a divide. It’s lame.
When we try to give ya guidance some of yall reacts like women not saying you do but majority of yall younger cats just think yall know everything yall wanna live fast and die young when we tell yall doing wrong and need guidance we get called corny old ass men that need to shut the fuck up and mind our business
Not true…other generations at least let them talk…y’all don’t even want them in the same room 😂, I’ve seen guys like Joe and other try to drop gems in life but this generation think they already got all the keys…when in reality, having the keys to “society” isn’t the same as having the keys to LIFE
I hate this logic because there younger people that like this grown up music and there’s adults listen to this TikTok stuff like music is music doesn’t matter the age I hate putting shit in age groups or anything look at this logic killer Mike make music for retirement homes like fuck the labels he makes music for people that like conscious music that’s the label
Joe Budden TV, ThisIs50, and Jordan Towers films were the first to pioneer this online streaming thing - especially in Hip-Hop. People still thought the internet was for nerds back then, until MySpace got to popping. It's crazy how fast things changed tbh, but we were here to see it all transpire.
Thank you for bringing the globalization and reach of the artist, I'm from Morocco and pretty knowledgeable about what's popping in both Africa and some of Europe, and I've been having this argument with a lot of Americans about how some of their favorite artist are not even in top 100 that's why they don't tour worldwide, and they directly say "who cares about that place anyway". Bro, everyone except your salty ahh, even your artist wants to tour there but can't. I'll give you an example, the MJ vs Chris Brown should've never been a thing to begin with. People in so many places that can nor understand or make a correct phrase in English, can sing almost all the songs of MJ while they don't even know who tf is Chris Brown.
Bro this generation always talk about how young they are until they ain’t. It only last for ten years bro, you got another 50 years after 30 of being “old.” Lastly when i was a kid ik and still know the artists and actors that time period even the ones from my parents time period. Our generation is just different…
😂 bro killer Mike is literally the original member of outkast like how do you not know this !!! Big boy, Andre 3000, killer Mike Bro killer Mike came out in the Movie AtL and many others like this dude has always been big!!! He might not be mainstream but he’s big…
I agree they wild for disrespecting killer mike but hip hop labels targeting the young adult audience literally use kai and dem to see whats litt and what the kids gone gravitate to
Let’s be real …all these video game streamers are nerdy dorks sorry …old heads do think young dudes are cool , but corny young dorks are corny young dorks …and i mean these internet dorks . The young boys that are lit are lit . ..a lot of these young kids played video games and got ya’ll hype And there not even young just short . They are good at video games .. Ya’ll gotta chill , this is music and culture …this is why ya’ll complain about hip hop . Im vanilla baby …hahhahahahahaha
The young streamers in large part olny care about numbers and first week sales. Everything is material. How much money you got? What's his net worth?. He is he dating? Ooh, He got a missile? Don't care about quality olny wanna hear rappers talk about shooting the ops. Playboi carti in thongs, drake rainbow nail polish, I mean.. is the criticism valid?
Not knocking your video I like the video I got no problem with it you just forgot to mention that Joe Button was also a part of two of the best wrestling / fighting games out there which was Def Jam Vendetta and Def Jam fight for New York and Joe Budden had more than one good hit he had pump it up he had fire featuring Busta Rhymes and he got mixtapes out that were pretty good and he had come and take a walk with me which is still to this day my favorite track
That Macklemore comment was opinionated… he literally was a plant… the culture saw the bs through them forged numbers. And everyone was frustrated off of how the one hit wonder was forced on us and won a Grammy lol 😂 How are you ignoring that to try and make a point here…. Cause that Grammy was literally a smack in the face to the culture it wasn’t even the fact Kendrick got snubbed. And to compare it to present day is a lil reach… but I’m still following your point. My guy.
when i see comments like this on the intenet i realise how stupid you are , there is a bar written search above you go listen to killer mike and stop acting like you donno how searching works
@@cleon700 😂 he was nominated for while he was still alive for one, two the year victory lap came out it was def one of the hotter rap albums in 2018 and he’s had a fanbase for the whole 2010s.
Problem is rap is somewhat unique because the majority of its listeners are young people who don’t necessarily know/ listen to Killer Mike. And on top of that the Grammys have recently had so many “snubs” in the rap genre I can understand why people feel that way
This really isn’t true in the way it was a decade ago, rap is now old enough a genre that I’d bet it’s listeners have more diversity in age range than just teens Now people in their 30’s-40’s have grown up on rap music
Brother, Grammys are music industry politics, you might think Utopia is better, saying that rap is just "young man sport" is a thing of the past, Hiphop is one of the most predominant genres with a plethora of ages and styles, so this is just a thing of record labels patting their heads at each other Mike deserves all the glory in this world, the album was sick (if you enjoy rap) thing is believing grammys won't be biased is delusional, it happened a couple times before When Kendrick said that, RTJ2 was just dropping
I think it's because ppl are having a hard time understanding what the actual criteria is. Is it the best music given their category? Is it the most popular? Is it innovation? Personally idk but after we find out we should do the research i believe
