This is one of the best things about pro boxing - two guys who battled for 12 rounds sitting down "together" and talking through the experience with honesty and humour, love and respect. Love it.
Indeed. It's pretty cool hearing what's on the mind at times before, during and after such an event. I can imagine the crowd and atmosphere as it was described too.
Kessler - what a lovely fella. One of life's natural good guys. A gem and an all-round gentleman. Tough, independent, a loving father, family man. They don't come any better..🙏
Froch is a lemon calzaghe schools him hands down ATS the way Joe fought hands down e cudn slap against Mikkel cos e would of lost they hard punches ask eubanks
Very underrated in the terms of best ever boxing trainer Trained two men into World Champions only trained a few too what a man, what a character. RIP Enzo, a great guy
Lou Duva yeah. Hopkins, jones jnr, kessler and eubank were scrubs.....and don’t give me the “they were old” bs. Hopkins went on to fight for years after at championship level and reclaiming his light heavyweight title.
Jeff lacy was dubbed 'the middleweight mike tyson' at that time. Calzaghi broke is right hand in the 2nd round and won the rest of the fight using only his jab!!
Joe Calzaghe is a true great! Absolutely top bloke! Very underrated boxer! Kessler is a top bloke too! I always say the best boxers don’t look boxers when they finish
Both legends of the sport,,after this fight I was a Kessler fan through and through,,yes my man joe won the fight,,but Kessler has heart, and he is suck a likeable guy,,I think the whole uk like Kessler as a fighter
I always try to come back to see these guys, both their fight together (and I mean together, and not against) but also, maybe even more, the mutual respect between these gentlemen. Yes gentlemen
Two great champions and a credit to boxing. Take note AJ ,this is how a champion should behave instead of spreading racial bile and trying to stir up a race war !
I love the respect for each other!! Kessler was one of my favorites but Joe is second to none. Two of the best honorable men of the sport. Real class from true champions!! 🥊🎓👑
@@josephbuck7129 I only see one credible name there! Eubank hopkins and jones where past their best and lacy was a hype job. Theres a reason he don't get more credit because he didn't beat anyone apart from kessler!
I loved how Emanuel Steward said that Joe was in P4P best because no one ever questioned Steward for good reason, and he said this about JOE.....a fighter that was not from the states. Steward LOVED Joe.
Calzaghe is the best fighter I have ever seen, personally speaking. Yes, I like, his style, it is appealing but nobody dominated their opponents the way this guy did. This guy didn't get tired, he got hungry!
WHy doesn't Steve Bunce stop asking leading questions and ask good ones, such as asking kessler what he would have done different with hindsight, to win.
Well done Bunce creating this series. To listen to my favourite boxers I followed talk of the fights. Magic absolute magic B.B Is froch v Kessler coming? Followed both and I would never now say who would win...joe or carl, just wish I could of seen that fight. In a sense different eras if thats a fair comment. And what I mean is I followed Joe....THEN Carl
Glad Steve bunce is doing this with joe as joe calzaghe never got the recognition he deserved when he was boxing .Simply coz he is not english . One of the best fighters ever from the uk .
I was visiting Dominican Republic and had to change flights in JFK Airport in New York...they asked where I was from because of my accent I told them South Wales UK...they then asked about Joe Calzaghe and if I knew him...was so surprised and made me realise he was respected for his achievements over there, and what topped it off the customs official was a woman that asked me. Well done Joe in flying the flag for Wales and UK over there IN YOUR SPORT :-)
Has anyone ever asked kessler who he thought would've won between calzaghe vs froch and calzaghe vs ward? I personally think he would've outworked both and got a points decision. I also would have loved to see a froch vs kessler 3 decider as the first 2 were classics.
I might be biased, but super joe best ever super middleweight in modern era,and I no about the eights before anyone starts, skills win fights joe and sugar ray Leonard for me then Roy jones.maybe hagler hearns😂😂😂
Kessler is a great man and boxer. Kessler was treated disgracefully by referee Jack Reese who did not disqualify Andre Ward who headbutted Kessler “accidentally five times”. Ward a cheat who used low blows and elbows against Kessler.
There is a reason why vikings never successfully invaded Wales, but everything around it, and its the same reason Romans never successfully invaded Denmark. And thanks to that we have the 2 worst languages in all of Europe.
Judging by Kesslers face he would rather forget it haha, he lost his 2 world titles, if there was dans in boxing Calzaghe would be dan 9 and kessler dan 2 or something, was just more advanced with knowledge of boxing he knows more and knows how to prepare better for bouts.
Calzaghes only credible win? Eubank not at his peak still a formidable opponent. Byron Mitchell Charles brewer,Ritchie woodall,Robin reid all ex world champions some recently at the time. Seika who beat a prime glen Johnson Johnson destroyed by calzaghe. Jeff lacy undefeated and a ibf champion destroyed by calzaghe. Sakio bika who would go on to give ward one of his hardest fights. Calzaghe would also go to America and fight in a new weight division and beat Hopkins. Hopkins would go on to destroy pavlik and also win the light heavyweight belt again. Calzaghe is a all time great
@@chiefbrodyrobertson2950 don't forget when he bounced his brittle hands off Roy's face chasing a wounded rabbit round the ring in his last fight. Roy gets his credit and respect tho don't he. Does my head in they put Roy and Hopkins on a higher pedastool than Joe and why? For what reason? 😂
i love how people say joes the best..but he’s boxing record isn’t the best really.. he had 46 fights and he’s best opponents were.. a past it Chris Eubank who Retired the the following year.. Jeff Lacy, Mikkel Kessler, a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins and a 39 year old Roy Jones Jr.. other British fighters have beaten better more opponents.. But credit to joe he did have fast hands but yeah.
Eubank had 2 wars with Cruiserweight Thompson after the Calzaghe fight, Hopkins destroyed Pavlik, Kessler was undeafeated. Credit to the man best Super Middleweight along with Ward.
@@aljenx829 much better than ward. Way way way too busy for ward to deal with at any point of his career. I don't get why he gets the negativity. I see it from the Americans he went out and beat 2 legends with bad hands in his very last 2 fights and they don't like it so they say Roy and bhop were passed it and would have should have could have beaten him otherwise. They were older and past prime but so was Joe. And they were still there and they were still beat by him. It's the bits negativity I don't get. He's the best ever brit. One of few fighters around the world to retire undefeated. A true champion with how many defenses? Plus unifications? Plus moving up in weight going to the u.s and beating 2 legends of the sport. His record is lit. Give him his credit.
John James not even Hatton managed to do it and he’s at the top of the list for best British fighters Naz didn’t do it got beat in America Froch came close
