You arent going to get anything of substance with these press conferences, usually because no tough questions are asked. And when they are, you see what happens. Its the same business as usual answers even with a big story like this. I honestly wouldn't even be surprised if most or all of the questions Brodie answered were pre-screened beforehand.

R M BVW hired Beltran because of Wilpons.The fact he resigned and they claim he was honest is not a good look. I love how Francesa’s altar boys rip Brodie apart but since he was hired. The guy got DeGrom paid and his only bad move since being hired was Cano Diaz trade. Not because of taking on Cabo’s contract but trading Kelenic. Pretty sure Joe and Evan wanted Rendon and re-sign Wheeler to 23.6 per for 5 year contract. I think signing Betances made more sense considering last year’s problem wasn’t starting pitcher nor Offense

Vincent Cuttolo BVW didn’t hire Beltran because Wilpons did. Joe and Evan have bashed Brodie since day one. The only thing they are right about is trading Kelenic in Cano/Diaz trade. Brodie locked up DeGrom but Francesa’s little altar boys never gave Brodie credit for that move. Joe and Evan wanted Anthony Rendon over Jeff McNeil which is weird. They wanted to keep Wheeler even though Wacha/Porcello was cheaper and better long term flexibility for the organization.

Fact of the matter is this. Brodie is best friends with AJ Hinch. He knew exactly what was going on in Houston. He was hoping Beltran could bring some of those strategies to Queens. The Mets knew EVERYTHING and made sure Beltran was the guy to hire as they felt he'd put them over the top. And btw...the Yankees with Beltran as an advisor last season did the same thing.
And being a Mets fan I thought hell yea anything to win let's do it but not the Mets. We need to do it honestly and clean like how Fred got the maid pregnant lmao fml
I heard Tim Bogar was a finalist for the position in the fall and thought he was the best option at that time. So I would like to see the former Met come back to NY as manager. He's gain a lot of experience over the years and deserves an opportunity. Plus, he was apart of the Nationals World Series Championship.

There are a lot things that could've gone on here in terms of what facilitated both The Red Sox and The Mets carrying out the deed this past week. I think strictly on a personal level, these were *their guys* and the loathed to fire them. Alex Cora and Carlos Beltran respectively were going to be key parts of these two baseball organizations going forward because essentially they had been selected by upper management because they filled a certain role in those respective organizations like a hand on glove. That is why in the press releases filed by both organizations they made it clear the amount of personal regard they had for both of these managers and although they couldn't implicate the league directly (as that would be like a taking a poison pill) basically allowed those press releases to give the impression that it was the league who took issue with those managers' behavior in Houston, not necessarily The Mets or The Red Sox. That was my gauge of it anyhow. So when Evan Roberts is talking about how he doesn't understand why Brodie Van Wagenen didn't pull Beltran aside for a deep and meaningful about his time in Houston, the answer to that question is that Van Wagenen was hoping/hedging that this investigation by MLB was going to be specifically centered on the current Houston Astro organization and not extend to former employees. I'm sure that is what Chaim Bloom and the Henry family were banking on as well and they all came up craps because Cora and Beltran's name was all over the report. Once that happened Cora and Beltran were finished in MLB at least for the immediate future. The Red Sox and The Mets had no choice but to have their *Old Yeller* moment with both their guys because the other option was to become the scourge of baseball for the foreseeable future.
Guys, if you don't know that the entire reason they hired Beltran to begin with was because he was notorious for developing and implementing these espionage systems, I don't know what to tell you. Everyone knew. The dude had no experience and was going right to the majors as a manager? The Mets got what they were looking for and then had to backpedal when the shit hit the fan.

The Met owners and the GM should not make themselves unavailable because radio host criticize the team moves. Show some balls and defend your decisions. Mike, Evan and Joe are just doing their jobs and it just shows the fans that the Wilpons and "Corporate Brodie" cannot take the heat of criticism. Two championships in 55 years in the NY market...a joke. Throw in the Jets another inept ownership...one championship in over 50 years. Stop wasting your money folks until there is a change. Its about winning a championship not being entertained...I go to a Broadway Play for that.
It's the biggest problem with these two the Mets and the Jets are their total focus has been for years. Joe should retire and then bring in someone to rebalance Evan.
