RIP Joe Fagin. Three brilliant singles around one of the greatest British TV shows ever made. Superb cast, brilliant writing, great characters and stories. The music was a massive part of it.
This is an example of the right actors cast in the right roles in a well written series shown at the right time, it's a combo you only see once in a while. everytime I hear this I'm a kid back in the 1980's all over again, and so glad it is still shown on TV.
You prolly dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all the latest series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my gf recently xD
I am 51 now and on various jobs since i was 16, ive worked away from home , ive worked all over England, Wales, Scotland and Europe, i have had some great times with some real nice guys , this tv show made me want to go and see it for myself
Just awesome TV back then, I can’ still sense the atmosphere watching it as a ten year old. Never get tired of watching them just wanna rewind forty years and be back there.
The best Tv Show ever made imo. For characters and the storyline over the all the early seasons has to be the best show ever made. Hearing these songs gives me a warm nostalgic feeling of everything was a happier easier time. Wonderful show. ✌️👍✌️
To this day, the best tv series I have ever watched. I love the actors, the characters, the story lines and the music. I would have loved to have been part of their gang. Dennis, Oz, Bomber, Moxy, Neville, Barry and Wayne.......along with Wyman. Pat Roach and of course, Gary Holton...........R.I.P
It gives me a warm nostalgic vibe from a happy easier time in life. It was the best tv show made imo. The characters storyline and the whole locations and songs make this show even better. Never be forgotten and never to see the likes again. ✌️👍✌️
It was such a believable series with very special actors. The theme songs fitted so well too, this was a classic. I was at school and along with friends we worshipped the series. I've never witnessed acting like it till I seen 'Life On Mars' & 'Ashes To Ashes' in recent years. This song takes me back to those great days of the 80's with a gift of a TV Series.
I worked in Germany as a bricky - the detail is spot on, right down to the Dutchman finding them jobs in a bar. Christ knows how the writers researched this if they weren't trowels.
…this song and the TV series were a marriage made in heaven. The series perfectly captured the times and was thoughtfully written and funny with an edge to it. The characters were all so memorable. Reminds me of happier times when I watched it as a twelve-year-old with my parents and when my dad was still alive. Currently watching again with my twenty-year-old son. Magic.
My dad went to Italy to work as a brickie in the early 80s, and wanted to move us there but my mum said no, he was there for a year and loved it. We went on holiday there every summer. For this reason my dad loves Auf Wiedersehen Pet
My old man made me watch these as a kid & recently i decided to watch them all from series 1 and this songs been stuck in my head ever since. Amazing series
Used all my options, Worked off my dues, Laid all the cards down, Theres nothing to lose, Don't want tomorrow to be like today, Thats why I'm breaking away. I'm not trying to run, Or trying to hide, What can I win if I'm losing my pride, Won't let tomorrow be like today, Thats why I'm breaking away. OO-OO Breaking away, Got to find a better way, Until the good times roll around, again OO-OO Breaking away, Got to find a better way, Til the good times roll around, again, Auf weidersehen. Taking it easy, making each day, Sooner or later theres something to pay, Might as well have a laugh on the way, We're breaking away, OO-OO Breaking away, Got to find a better way, Till the good times roll around again, OO-OO Breaking away, Got to find a better way, Until the good times roll around, again, Auf weidersehen Until the good times roll around, again, Auf weidersehen
My dad was a brickie and went to Italy in 1981 for a year to work as there was no jobs over here. He missed the birth of my brother as his flight home was delayed. He loved AWP coz it reminds him of that year and funnily enough his roommate for that year was a Geordie! He loved it out there and tried to get my mum to go over there with my brother but she wasn’t having it so he came back home. He still goes back twice a year for a holiday now
Still got this single bought back in 84, great series & the one that came out later in 2001 about the Middlesbrough transporter bridge was pretty good too.
Remember this as a kid in the 80s...fond memories watching it. Keep watching series 1 and 2 over and over. .....whats the difference between penguin and inland revenue?......
First 🥇 class singer respect the TV show is iconic and made the actors star's all the cast brilliant can't believe it started in 1983 class legendary show R.I.P Joe 📻📺🎤🎥
the first series is been rerun on the drama channel today great series and great acting from jimmy neil tim healy and kevin whatley and co they dont make shows like that nowadays.
The acting if you look back now was a bit wooden but the whole concept is absolutely second to non and the whole camaraderie of these guys thrown together etc I really would say with this pc world gone mad there will never be another series like this again and watching it again just brings back memories of sitting watching it with my brothers mum and dad and now some of them have gone I like to watch them again in honour of those simpler times.
