@@ARR-57 Indeed, he died of it a little over two years from this concert. More amazing is that he had the wind to play after - as reported in many places - being a chain smoker for many years. He left quite a legacy and sounded great in so many settings - as this duet with acoustic guitar shows!
Maybe playing saxophone from early years strengthened his breath. Maybe was the thing that gave him resistance to breathing issues. Perhaps extended his life
Very good..and good, beautiful play on tenor saxophone !! Mr.Joe Henderson was born 1937, and passed away in 2001. If so, he lived only 64years....I'm sad to hear..
