This is my wife and I's comfort movie. When I want to tell her I love her without telling her verbally, Howl's Moving Castle turns on. This is one of my favorite melodies ever

I've always heard it as the progression of life. Love gets sweeter with time, just like wine. Each time the main section is done it becomes more intense, beautiful and slightly tragic.

Same. I’m a usually stone faced math and physics nerd, but this song is genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of art I’ve ever heard. It is currently Christmas Eve after my first semester at college and the feelings are all feeling hard. This song doesn’t help 😭

It will reflect yourself wether you’re on the high or low end of the cycle of life. It goes well in a wedding and a funeral. It is the Merry Go Round of Life.

Hardships will await you once you leave school but of course, you will have more freedom and will experience a whole lot of different things.
@@jason4079 wah right now it’s hard to imagine i’d wish to be back in school when i’m older but i’m sure i’ll have those moments later on. school’s just so hard right now and there’s so much pressure to do well since my grades next year will matter the most for uni applications and sadly, i’m not as smart as i wish i was which just makes my school life so much worse :/
Yes, agreed. a lot of the Joe Hisaishi's songs are so beautiful that they sometimes make me cry. I also feel really nostalgic when I listen to his songs, because I grew up watching Studio Ghibli films.
This movie and the song makes me cry because in real life there is no true love like in the movie. It was magical, pure and so true that it can't exist in real life but this movie still makes me wish that kind of magical love and it hurts and i hate this feeling

I was able to watch Howl's Moving Castle for the first time ever, in theaters yesterday, and it make me feel as light as air! What a brilliantly paced journey, such impeccable writing, such joyously wonderful characters! Not a one I'd want to miss! In only two hours I'm more acquainted with this fantasy land then I am with the world around me! I'd certainly have no trouble adjusting to the environment. I accept this day Howl's Moving Castle into my memory amongst the few cherished memories that I hold dear.
I can truly feel homesick. I moved from my natal country. My grandma, who was always with me (moved with me to where I live now), died in the pandemic. Everything I can call "home" is dead now. Even if I truly go back. There are just scraps of a memory that is in the past. Even though I still have a mother and a Lil bro, we, as a family, feel a hole, a piece that is missing. We feel so alone. The family that's left, is far away, and the most important one, is in heaven.
A composer actually did that! I know literally no one asked, but Tartini wrote a piece called "Devil's Trill Sonata" apparently the story behind it is that the devil played a sonata to Tartini in his dreams, and Tartini attempted to write out the piece. He's said, though, that it's bland compared to what he heard from the devil's violin. (Some of this may be incorrect, please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!)
This song is sooo good. The most vibrant contrabass really sound like the pipes of the moving castle, the speed of the music simulates the movement of the castle. I think this composition is divided in 2 parts, the first more romantic and dramatic, the second more fun and carefree, just like the movie. Fantastic music absolutely love it!
What a coincidence. I’ve only recently watched the movie for the first time ever and I totally fell in love with this score :) What was really awesome was that I’d already listened to it in a long classical playlist, without knowing where it was from. So when Howl and Sophie walked through the sky for the first time and this lovely tune came up like a bang I jumped from my seat and told my friend “Hey I know this theme!!! I know it from somewhere and I love it!!!” Hhahah
this is EXACTLY what happened to me.. I had listened to this before and it was and still is so entrancing that I remembered it instantly when I watched the movie
this makes me feel so nostalgic for a memory i don’t even have. it’s a bitter sweet feeling. i feel happy and sad at the same time whenever i listening to this. i also, weirdly feel a deep connection to this song.
This reminds me of sitting on the beach on a cold evening with the person I love most in the world. It’s like just watching that water crash on the sand. Lovely and peacefully.

I had to rewatch this movie to realize it was about how howl is super shallow and Sophie made him realize there's more to life than being superficial. Hands down my favorite Studio Ghilbi movie!
I loved the movie the first time I saw it but after reading the book and watching it again I didn’t like it as much. Maybe it’s because I watched the English version. It is just hard for me to watch a movie based off the book that doesn’t follow the original narrative after about halfway through. It’s the same with Nausicaa for me. The movie by itself is good but the book for Nausicaa blows it out of the water
Recently, for some reason, a friend told me about this video. Because my parents' house is reflected in this video. Okayama Prefecture is a rural area in Japan, and although there is nothing interesting about it, it is a warm town with rich nature and kind people. You can also see the mountain where my sister and I searched for Totoro. For the first time in my life, I saw my town from above. Joe Hisaishi and Hayao Miyazaki are great, but so is Drone lol
I literally just looked this up while thinking about my mom. She passed away in 2019 so its still fresh. This was one of if not her favorite movie. And this song always helps me remember the good times.
I know it seems dark, but I want this played at my funeral with the understanding that my soul will be dancing and gliding along to this hauntingly beautiful melody.

When I heard that Studio Ghibli was closing I honestly couldn't believe it and did not even touch on the topic for a month before I realized that there was only a hiatus when Hayao Miyazaki was retiring back in 2014 and that *NO* they were not stopping production because they couldn't get enough profit from the box office. They have a new movie coming out approximately this 2023 called "How Do You Live". And if you're from the future and somehow I haven't been isekai'd yet, please remind me that this comment still exists.
There’s this strange warm feeling when I hear this song, my heart wrenches and most of the time, i start crying. I still don’t if it is out of happiness or sadness, but I do know this is a masterpiece
