I watched your final visit home to Hull, with tears in my eyes as those beautiful horses took you along the Hessle Road. Such a beautiful man I miss you❤
@@kevinwhite5736 Ann thankyou, Its pending. Ann , I know you are poorly too and all the stress must really weigh you down. Hope to be in touch with you very soon xxxx
I knew nothing about this guy...but omgoodness what a voice...I'm so sorry to hear he has passed. Our loss is the angels gain...that voice is unbelievable
What a fantastic Singer, one of Britain's best kept secrets I feel. Genuine ability to sing a complex song live with both subtlety and power with his voice. A true craftsman.
Too true, Ann. Makes my heart weep hearing from you how he was suffering and treated by those who were meant to be caring for and loving him. Even keeping from him that he was dieing. I'm sure that if he had known he would have been back home in Hull with you and his family surrounding him
But what a voice - he could and would have been a successful singer in his own right. Strength and sincerity in his performances. Plus the best impressionist ever. No doubt.
saw joe at margate about two years ago me and my wife jean still talk about it , what a great performer and a lovely warm guy , very touching this song did for me tissues out .
I LOVE JOE LONGTHORNE. SINGING. WHEN YOUR OLD WEDDING RING WAS NEW" I Can now sing this song. MY'SELF. After seeing Joe. at Blackpool one weekend. It was a GREAT ' Show. never for got it. To this Day. THANK you Lad. your Great'
Man from Hull done good Adopted by Blackpool Fought hard but my memories remain, seeing him live as a youngster on holiday from 🏴 The Variety Shows were my favorite in Blackpool. Joe RIP ♥️
What’s even sadder is that from this wonderful band both the guitarist and bass player are also no longer with us, Alan Wormald and Simon Goulding are both flying high with Joe, so very sad x
Joe Longthorne should have been recognised in his lifetime as one of our greatest stars, but he never seemed to get the big mega-break to put him at the top of primetime Saturday nights. TV neglected him. At least his fans didn't. Our North Pier theatre here in Blackpool is named after him but I so wish he was still around to actually play the theatre, or better still The Winter Gardens. RIP Joe. Your Bassey was a sensation.
