I'm an Australian, however I have the most DNA relatives in America, I am struggling to understand why my DNA matches with The Rockefeller, McCormick and Dudley Winthrop families. Any ideas on where I should start?

So many Italians need to take this ancestry test because they do have middle eastern and sometimes subsaharan African ancestry. Have more Italian, Spaniard, Portuguese and Greek guests. I want to see their results

You have to teach your children about their parents and grandparents if not further back. You should have photos of them in your home if you have them. Tell stories about your memories of them. Make them come your life. And, join ancestral organizations!! Find your entire famiky tree.

That’s why people spend lifetimes tracing their ancestry and trying to capture the bits and pieces that survive to create a tapestry of remembrance and honour.

His father's mother was Italian. so He's not just Italian in name only.

That's what I thought. With Joe's Italian last name, I thought his family's ancestry was completely Italian.

I did not know about the genocide…..was balling😢…….Despite the bad, these people, and many including my ancestors….though out history were survivors……just amazing and i personally think they should never be forgotten….had a history lesson last night……..

I was crying one moment, gasping in shock the next, to laughing with great joy. What a rollercoaster of emotion for all of us and I can't begin to imagine the emotions that Joe Manganiello and his family are experiencing. I also loved learning of his Armenian heritage, as far too.many people are not aware of this horrifuc period in history! I am a Jamaican immigrant and I know about the Armenian Genocide that Turkey tries to downplay. It will never be forgotten.

The inaccurate education offered to most Americans

I read up on it 20 years ago. Shocking stuff. I always find it baffling that the genocides and the African slave trades of the Ottomans and Arabs are always overlooked.

I am a black person who was raised in America and I know all about the atrocities against the Armenian people by the Turkish government.

Funny, I first learned about the Armenian on because of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Apparently they still go there (unfilmed) because they have relatives there.

I think his german roots are stronger. Him and his german great grandpa look very similar.

Hello Alina, I’m a DNA Genealogist. I have some experience with Pakistani/Indian DNA. I would say that the databases are growing day by day. Not as great as Northern European origins. The only issue is the documentation. Remember Pakistan was created in 1947. I’ve had issues tracing records, birthdates incorrect. The people taking the tests don’t attach trees. Nothing is impossible. You can do many things from 1 dna test.

The above commentator did not mean Armenians were Europeans, but an Indoeuropean group of people, Armenians share more genetics with southern Europeans, also some Jews than with Asians, for your knowledge Asia is mostly India, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Phillipnes, Pakistan, etc... Armenians are not Asian, and Armenia geographically is not in Asia, please educate yourself more.
