Indians/Guards fan here. Mauer, I enjoyed watching you while I was growing up. Division rival so I saw you quite a bit lol. You would torch us. You are a great man who is deserving of this honor!

Joe is such a humble and respectful man towards the great game of baseball. I remember meeting him and getting his autograph in his 3rd year. He respects the public the same way he showed respect to Brian here!! Way to go Joe!! Will always remember that 2009 season you flirted with .400!! You represented Minnesota with class every day

I used to watch him growing up. Great swing, great glove and he seems like a good dude. Congratulations!!! Joe definetly deserves to be in the Hall!!! From a former catcher to another.

I mean boy oh boy, I couldn't imagine if writers inducted me. You know Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron are in the Hall of Fame, right? And the writes thought I deserved a plaque in the same room as them? It would blow my mind. Next to Blyleven, Winfield, Killebrew, Bench, Reggie Jackson...?? I think Joe deserves it. But if it were me I couldn't imagine.

It wasn’t because he’s white per se, it’s because he was EXTRAORDINARILY friendly to the media. His career accomplishments surly don’t warrant a first ballot otherwise.

Sounds like you are basing it off your opinion and emotions not facts. Please explain how the same voters who elected Adrian Beltre who got 95% of the vote. Or even better, Mariano Rivera who got 100%. What about all the first ballot black hall of famers like Ken Griffey Jr, Willie Mays, Bob Gibson, David Ortiz, Eddie Murray, Hank Aaron, Dave Winfield, Tony Gwynn, Willie McCovey, Reggie Jackson, Willie Stargell to name a few.

You explain how there are better players not inducted. Setting that to the side. What kind of ethnic diversity is there for these writers that vote? I e heard of writers that don’t even cover baseball and vote for the hall of fame. Let the fans vote. It’s the fans hall of fame. Not the writers

Aww shucks. Golly G. Virgin pureness is why he was elected in. ONE! Career postseason RBI, ZERO playoff victories. But still one of the top 5 paid players in baseball to hit meaningless regular season singles the other way. No slugging whatsoever most years. Sure had that ONE great (contract) year tho, when he miraculously hit for power. It was incredible, very Brady Anderson like.

His OPS as a catcher is 3rd all time among catchers, OPS+ is 2nd. And he won 3 gold gloves and was robbed of at least 1 more. Sounds like you're a big Phill Cuzzi fan if you're bringing up the postseason.
