You got the right guitar for this and its wonderful you have the appreciation of those greats who have come before you. Very few your age can ever say that.

You climbed a huge mountain here My first jazz purchase was when I was 17 and dinosaurs still roamed the Earth , and I went target shooting with the Sons Of Liberty on Tuesdays . There was a kid in my school who had the rep of a good guitar player and he is walking down the hall with a black and white record cover .🤔 This is the 1977 . Record covers are colorful and elaborate like Yes and Molly Hatchet records 😮 There is a picture of an old Sicilian guy who looks just like my Grandfather . No hair in the middle . Looks like he grows his own tomatoes and zucchini . 🤠 He has a big F hole guitar , hollow body . A Gibson ES - 175 🤔 The album says Joe Pass Virtuoso 😎 I go to my favorite outside the box , Mom and Pop , record store and I find it. I take it home , drop the needle . First tune. It is NIGHT AND DAY , Cole Porter . The guitar isn't even plugged in an amp. He has a mic on it with a little reverb only 😮 He is finger picking it also 😦 I didn't have the slightest idea what he was playing . I only knew how to bang through rock and roll tunes and a few old blues . Joe is playing all these wild chords 🤔 The guitar for me would never be the same.
You make me regret that time i could have gotten an archtop guitar instead i thought a shred guitar would be just as good for lpaying jazz. Very good playing!
