Only a true Beatles fan would hear this and know Joey is right.. I hear their influence... The Beatles broke the boundaries and perception of rock and roll cause they appealed to everyone
Great song by Sound Garden, although, compared to, for example, I Am The Walrus, there is no comparison. Lest we forget, those early recordings were made by splicing tape, so I doubt it will ever be replicated, fully. P.s. While My Guitar Gently Weep's is a Goerge Harrison song.
@billsultzbach7079 OP is still right, tho. Analog recording using techniques that have been done a hundred times is not the same as being the band that created those techniques, 30 years earlier. The mellatron alone, man. I was just watching the video where McCartney explains how to program it, and its wild. It's like manually programming each key of a synth, using a sound reel for each sound. It's absurd. Comparing the achievement relative to the tech around the time of the achievement, the Beatles are so far ahead of everyone else. Strawberry Fields, Tomorrow Never Knows, I'm Only Sleeping, A Day In The Life.... idk if it's even POSSIBLE for a band to be that close to the cutting edge anymore. And if it is, Soundgarden certainly weren't there. They were just a kickass band.
I think you guys dont realise how easy it is to write that semitone movment style songs let me tell you 100% writing HELP by john lennon is 1000 times harder. Writing a lyrical crossword is easy writting the lyrics to HELP is direct and too the point and thats way more artistically pure. If you dont like the beatles pick up the guitar and try write a song . Do this for many years and only then will you see the absolute genius within the beatles songs no one else comes close to when those guys wrote a banger. It was another level always. The stars aligned for those guys
@hihello-sx1sx I agree mate but what I was suggesting is it wasn't genius. If you want to see genius songwriting look at some of madness's song writing they have some moments of pure brilliance
Anytime some putz says "yeah, this while you're high..." loses me. The Beatles, Pink Floyd etc... Sounds fantastic even sober. Otherwise you sound like a kid.
