Coach: “Who has Khabib faced that wasn’t as tired as Conor after 2 rounds?” Joe: *Immediately lists a fighter that did better against Khabib than Conor*
Aron Travis he literally said in the Barboza fight that he could’ve too but he wanted to show everyone he could go 3 rounds without getting tired. That’s when I was officially terrified of him. Doing that to Barboza then saying you could’ve ended it literally whenever you wanted is scary
Thing with Iaquinta is he's the perfect mix to take out Khabib. His background is wrestling, same as Khabib, meaning he has learned how to defend against someone like Khabib as long as he's been fighting, but then he's a far better striker than Khabib. So he's able to defend against and attack Khabib. The only reason why he lost to Khabib is that he didn't work enough becoz he was scared. He didn't realise that he had the perfect skillset for Khabib and overestimated him. Put them back in the ring together again and I think Al wins with ease, knockout
@@elliottcharlesreed khabib actually tried to fight standing up for 2 rounds. That was a major factor in why Al iaquinta didnt gas out like conor did but he was still gassed out which is also why khabib dominated him in stand up.
Elliott Charles Reed Al is not a top 10 lightweight, he got lucky from the one fight and came up the rankings and look where he’s now? Saying Al can beat Khabib is the biggest joke I’ve ever heard.
@@yusufemirolcer9010 a coawrde to attack one fighter with all your friends surrounding him..at least conor atatcked a whole bus on his opwn at that stage
@@tinojarquin2126 no. He wasn't, in order to ask his coach those kind of questions he had to preface it with reasons why he's asking those questions. You can see the coach isn't even hyping Connor up, him and Rogan just had a back and forth
No it isn't but let's not forget who started it all. It's almost as if people have forgotten. The Irishman and his crew started a ruckus, threw a dolly almost endagering lives, insulted his father, his religion amongst many other personal attacks to none of which is good for the sport. Dana also allowing for Connor to carry his two past belts, none of this kind of shit is acceptable for the sport and Dana's responsible for it all at the end of the day for allowing this shit to not only go on but contribute by allowing Connor to carry his two belts in the press and also promote his whiskey... what a fucking joke.
Multi million dollar gameplan for defending against Khabib... if your on the cage, sit up. if your on your back, just ride it out till the end of round... Thats pretty fucking lame tbh.
Yeah Iaquinta didn’t look like that after 2 rounds but he landed 25 strikes in the whole 5 rounds and Khabib landed 115 on the feet 74 in the grappling and 8 takedowns. Joe needs to stop praising him so much for this fight he literally lost 50-43.
@@jamess7231 exactly despite that he still survived joe is praising his toughness if you think stats is what makes a fighter or decides a fight your delusional
Adam L yea but that’s not technically crossing the line. He didn’t throw a a dolly into a bus. He didn’t make fun of his religion, and he didn’t make fun of his country.
@@edp4445 because talking shit like Connor did is still just words shouldn't bother him but he's obviously sensitive to..so are his fans.. words are words.. the bus incident is another story
@@RHasan-yy1fb why do people get offended if someone calls them gay lol if you're straight then it simply doesn't apply to you and has no meaning. If you are gay, then you cant really get mad at someone calling you what you are. I can't believe that word hits people so deep. Why not call someone a straighty and see how offended they get.
I would imagine away from the cameras Conor is a lot like that.. he came from nothing. But when cameras are on, he’s there to market himself which he does very well, he’s an entertainer and it sells tickets and PPV buys. He sometimes goes too far but I think he learned that with the bus ordeal. It costed him millions from being sued and medical bills and got a felony dropped to a misdemeanor, he’s lucky he’s still got a visa. The government doesn’t care what he does or who he is when it comes to border visa issues so the UFC can’t help him out of an issue like that. He’s still a hell of a fighter regardless of what happens this past fight... I don’t think he would of won at his best unless they stood more but he didn’t look like the regular Conor, his stand up was sub par for McGregor, it wasn’t the same guy that fought Alvarez or Aldo. Just my opinion. I give it up to khabib thoigh, I wish it would of had more standing since I enjoy that but he’s an animal on the ground. Love ground and pound but I hate how he wraps your legs up and uses his weight against you to tire you, it’s just boring to watch and after the opponent is tired he can’t perform at his best which takes away from the fight.
Bm124 124 exactly my thoughts. This was not the mcgregor that fought in 2015 he looked sluggish and his standup was not the standards we’ve all come to know from him
Connor went way too far... I mostly skip the trash talk, this time especially. I'm not religious, nor Russian, nor do I come from a culture of super respect to parents. Even if you trash talk for business this is total, utter crap. Plus the horrendous bus incident. This coach is the opposite of that shit and he's well aware of the baseness of Connor's acts and words. He just's won't judge him publicly, but I'd bet Connor knows his opinion.
@Violet rose stop bullshitting. even with conor talking bad about islam in the leadup, that was bullshit too. besides if kavanagh said anything like thatthe news would be full of it
I 100% believe that was Khabib's way of baiting Conor into accepting the fight with him. He literally toyed with him and practiced some stuff like you say, and still fucked him up.
Chad Thunder he joined Conor in the twitter trashtalk occassionally in the past though haha but he seems like a great guy, I liked George too the Romero story had me laughing out loud.
Cristian Lopez I thought the same thing, Conor would be a much better fighter if he had this approach. He might not be nearly as popular though, cause peeps love the talk
dumbshits can't do anything but trash talk because conor is over, this isn't mayweather, there is no excuses it was a clean fight and he lost. all conors bragging bullshit and his fanboys can't undo that and attempting to ban khabib is just a cheap way to get out of having a rematch
@Bernhard Jordan if you don't now nothing about Islam then better shut your mouth and this shoud be by everything you don't now because you are expouse your self like a fool
GET REAL THIS FUCK WAS WITH CONNOR WHEN WAS TRYING TO Start SHIT WITH TYRONE. ARROGANT SMILE. INSTIGATORS ALL THOSE WITH CONNOR. FUCK GIVING CONNOR A REMATCH. THEY ALREADY KNOW A REMATCH IS COMING. UFC IS RIGGED. KHABIB RETURNED HOME. AND PROBABLY UFC IS GOING TO SAY HIS VISA IS STRIPPED. AND WHEN HE RETURNS HE FIGHTS MCTAPPER. THIS SHIT IS MORE FAKE THAN WWE
C S God you sound dumb. How would you know his "coaching IQ"? This guy shaped, trained, etc one of the greatest fighters of all time. He's been his head coach since the beginning & even took Conor back in after he stole tickets from him & sold them.
@@dustinchristensen8057 i agree 1000%.. i was just sayin he had zero pitty for kavenaugh at that particular moment in the interview, and shut him down real quick. Lol!
Hard to believe this guy is the coach of James Gallagher Conor McGregor and friends with Dillon Danis 🤔 he's literally the most down to earth well spoken man iveI've listened to on this, and then way he speaks about the whole brawl is even with respect and class, what a guy
Had the privilege of training with John Kavanagh back around 14 years ago, this was long before he became famous. He's one of the most down to earth unassuming guys you'll ever meet. He's just an ordinary guy doing something he loves. Even back then he came down Christmas morning to the gym with about 5 of us for a Christmas roll, best coach I ever had. legend 😎👊
Because they need to learn the lesson, Islam does not teach us to keep quiet when being attacked or humiliated. As long as we do not attack the innocent. Anyway lets keep this away from religion. Khabib best friend DC, team mate Luke Rockhold, Cain Velasquez and His coach they are not muslim but they are very close to Khabib.
Al wasnt outboxed, al was taken down in first 2 or 3 rounds, and he didnt want to end up on a floor again. So he ate some punches on purpose (some light jabs) so he can counter with a big punch and maybe ko him. It was a great game plan, al just wanted to pull him into his game (which is stand up) and khabib was given false confidence that he can stand with al. If khabib and al were straight up boxing, al would win by a landslide and it wouldnt be even close...
How can you love him when they're lying here? Connor threw the first punch and got ganged up on it, these guys know that and are acting like he did nothing wrong?!!! Don't respect these lying fucks !
Al is a Matt Serra purple belt. Meaning he gets rounds with straight up killers on the ground (RGA/DDS guys aka some of the best grapplers on the planet).
Herbaholic It wasn’t about damage , what kavangh said was that by round 3 khabib’s opponents are done and gassed , joe responded with Al Iaquinta , which is correct , he went 5 rounds and wasn’t done till the end , so it’s true
@Herbaholic which is exactly why the damage arguement is stupid. Khabib literally stuffed conor and smashed him for rounds 12 and 4. Conor kind of has a debate for round 3. Then gets neck cranked into submission and you're trying to say "but conor did more damage". So you want to reward a power puncher for getting his ass kicked? That's absolutely ridiculous
Don't forget the coach is the first guy in Ireland to carry a fighter into professional fighting, just like Conor is the first guy in Ireland to become a sucsesfull fighter in UFC. Amazing.
Khabib was playing around with Al Iquinta. He tested him in 1st round and understood that he could finish him anytime, so just tested his boxing skills and tried to be junior Ali.
Oh he is we just got to wait a couple weeks so he don't get in trouble by USADA for smoking weed lol paraphrasing but that's what the black beast said it himself
You really know if the athlete and the coach have respect- with Mcgregor the coach didnt even want to get involve as he knew it was so so wrong! But Khabib even went to coach Javier and hugged and said sorry coach - and you can see coach Javier understanding Khabib like a father assuring that it was ok! That’s the difference and level of love, respect and loyalty
The Shadow i agree and actually believe other then him the only person imo that could def do some work is T-City. His ground game is def top 3 in the ufc and most importantly his ground game off his back is crazy.
Great point Joe makes about not training for a five round fight. Marathon runners do something similar. They don’t actually run the full distance- they’ll do 18/19 miles and then push the extra miles in the actual race/run. Makes sense in MMA also, MMA Fighters are in amazing condition anyway
Ziming Kong Joe's been spreading so much misinformation about the altercation trying to protect Conor's team. Very smart for him to bring this guy to showcase that there are some decent people in Conors camp.
@Retro Robbie What else is he supposed to do? They got destroyed and didn't do any of the stuff they were saying they were going to do. The guy is a yes man and was lucky Conor walked into his gym because he can't build a champion himself from the ground up.

too bad his gameplan for Conor was dogshit. Their entire gameplan was centered around the hope that Khabib would tire before conor and then in rd 3 or later Conor would KO him. Delusional as fuck... khabib tire before conor? lol. Oh man.... the whole team is drunk on proper 12.
@ he told Conor to not pressure but to let khabib come to him so he can counter but Conor didn't follow his advice. He's a good coach he trains gunnar Nelson who is complete opposite to Conor and he trains some great guys. not a yes man but not a strong character either he's just to chill for conor's good.
Woke Up Dead I respectfully disagree, just because you don’t actively see him disagree with Conor doesn't mean he is a “yes man.” In addition, keep in mind, these two guys have completely different personalities. It’s also Kavanaugh’s first big champion. A learning process for both of them. He’s stuck by Conor’s side since cage warriors. He also sticks by his other fighters sides.

@rakesh rakz yes, i know. He told conor to counter-strike Khabib as he has a tendency to walk straight forward. They were expecting an aldo like type of reaction from Khabib. However, the gameplan as a whole was banking on Khabib to be tired enough for the KO shot. They should've known conor's endurance would give out before khabib's. Conor's best KO power is in rd 1-2. They should've focused on this. Now obviously they were expecting a long battle, but to really believe Conor's KO power would carry onto the later rounds is a very risky expectation. I'm not an mma coach, but even I can see the huge flaw in their gameplan. They didnt really have an answer to beat khabib other than a counter KO punch.
MA AS true. If it was a regular guy, that would apply. But mcgregor Sells tickets and ppv. Which leads me to believe, there will be a rematch if all the smoke clears.
i think khabib would only accept a rematch IF he gets paid the same as conner, and i think its justified to get that much as he is undefeated and has proved himself
"Dillon was absolutely insulting Khabib, saying something to him and provoking him and then Khabib just jumped over the cage and attacked him" Bit of a different story to what this guy said isnt it Joe?
@Cameron Let’s be honest. Of course John is going to deny Dillon was shit talking Khabib during the fight. Dillon is his guy too, so wouldn’t want to get him in trouble.
Conor is a poor kid from Dublin who made it HUGE is the ufc. God bless him. Khabib is a great champion. Both men are more worthy of respect than all the keyboard warrior rats posting hostile comments because they never get laid.
Man I’ve never seen Conor look so bad in a fight.. no speed, no precision, no power. Instead of waiting for khabib to pressure him and walk into that left hand, he chased khabib and walked right into those takedowns.. I don’t know if it was emotion finally getting to Conor or the money that’s made him soft, but I think we’ve seen the best of Conor and the decline is already happening..
His grappling was bad that's why he lost!! If he didn't allow the take downs he could have performed much better!! Khabib is one hell of a grappler i would do my best not to hit the ground with a guy like Khabib!!
The viewers need a narrative, if it was purely gentlemanly and professional, it wouldn’t sell. First and foremost the UFC is a business, needs to make money. It’s sad to see because it creates this unsportsmanship, but it is what it is. No space for the easily offended.
Feejee1 Its changed from about the fighting to about the drama. I stopped watching the UFC when they started promoting all this un sportsmanship and disrespectful behavior. I could have gone and watched WWE if that is what I wanted. I am a fan of how StrikeForce operates.
Connor shouldn't get an immediate rematch. He decisively lost and was finished. He should have to fight Ferguson first. Why didn't he give Mendez a rematch. Look what he did worth a week to train. Imagine what it would've been like with a whole camp. But it's Danas poster boy and he'll accommodate him. What happened with the bus incident. A little fine from the state. What did UFC do?
Charlie Martin You weren't listening to his coach were you?! He's a prize fighter. He fights for the biggest prize. So far he's been the most successful MMA prizefighter ever. Rematch Chad? If he's going to get hit in the head for your enjoyment he wants the biggest payday possible. You won't be there, will you, when these fighters retire and have no more income and possible brain damage. You will have moved on to the next guy to support or root against.
This isn't fucking "everybody get along" childish bs where you bitch to your mom that your sibling got something more so "it's not fair!" you whiny grown men are annoying. This is a business where the bottom line is Conor sold himself well and brought in a lot of revenue for the company he works at. Save those childish arguments somewhere else.
The only reason why I could see a rematch is if the UFC offers it to Khabib and he accepts the rematch. He was CLEARLY still angry even after the fight. I think he would take that rematch. I don't think he got the best McGregor and I think if he's offered a rematch, he would be ignorant not to take it. That being said, if Conor gets a rematch, if he loses again to Khabib, he's probably done. Because who does he fight in the division that does any good for him? Tony? I think that's really the only "good" fight for him at this point. Nate doesn't interest me. I've seen it twice, don't particularly wanna see it again. He'll never go down to 145 again because I don't feel he can personally make that weight again. He looked drained from making 155, he looked skinny as hell. He's in a weird, weird place. Guy needs to figure his shit out but I would love to see that fight again. I think Conor would come in more dangerous a second time around and that's better for everyone involved including Khabib. If he truly believes what he said, he wants to smash the guy, he would want to do it again. If Conor somehow won the second fight, 100% do a 3rd. He wouldn't be allowed to weasel his way out of another fight with Khabib.
Not sure if that's true, I think that he wants to please Dana on a subscale with the things he says on this podcast, because his job as the UFC announcer depends on it. Conor makes Dana tons of money, Dana loves Conor and doesn't want it to stop (it's his #1 show), Joe wants to keep his job working for Dana, so it comes full circle. I don't think it's the muslim thing specifically.
He had Cenk from Young Turks on I think? They are definitely few and far between. hat being said he is more of a "challenge the status quo" and "open your mind to a new perspective" podcast, and most media is left leaning so he's likely just into trying to counterbalance that. Though it would be interesting to get some more liberals in the show and have them explain their point of view. If I were Joe, trying to make podcasts that people would watch (and remain one of the biggest to ever happen), I would probably do the same as he is. Those Peterson ones get crazy amounts of views.
Honestly, I'm a big Khabib fan, but man is John such a respectable man. He loves the sport and stays away from the nonsense, like no trash talking. Stays humble and gives credit where credit is due.
@Hotrats76 he coached and trained him. He's not his disciplinary supervisor or someone who dictates or directs Conor's antics outside of the ring. And if you've watched and actually LISTENED to what he said in the interview you'd know.. Or maybe YOU CAN'T comprehend it.
@Hotrats76 we cant blame out parents if we grow up to be assholes right? I mean, my parents taught me well, but i didnt live up to their expectations. But its not their fault, accountability is on me to make MY LIFE right. My parents cant live my life for me. So in this case, the coach can teach u skills but im sure he didnt teach Conor to talk trash. Just sayin..
When you focus more on your brand than winning the fight, and the guy you’re fighting cares more about the fight than anything else and makes it about honor, you’re gonna lose, all else being equal. And it wasn’t 100% equal in the first place.
It’s called being open minded you simple minded fuck. There’s no point in being stubborn if you know you’re wrong. You really are a low life piece of shit tho.
I've watched this a few times now and I can't overstate how much it changed my perspective on Conor. I hate bullshit trash talking and love fighters like Khabib and Fedor, who don't speak but just show you how great they are. He is right though that at the end of the day they are risking their health and lives when they get in the ring/cage and it's on them to maximize how much they make because that is how they put food on their table and a roof over their heads. Honor and humility are amazing but they don't pay the grocery bill. I could never get behind the way Conor disrespected his opponents (maybe a new, richer Conor is different now) but you have to admire the fact that he figured out a way to make serious money in the MMA game.
STFU 'Yes man' John has taken Conor from a 17 year old kid to being the UFC fighter to hold 2 belts at the same time. Conor will go into the UFC hof I think hes done ok
Mcgregor doesn’t deserve a rematch! It wasn’t even a close fight! Khabib dominated Mcgregor. Mcgregor lost 2 of his last 4 fights. 3 if you count Mayweather. Give Tony Fergueson the title fight. He’s been waiting and he deserves it! Let Mcgregor fight whoever’s wins between the fight Nate Diaz and Dustin. I hope it’s Nate so we can settle the score because they both have a win against each other. Mcgregor vs Diaz 3.
TonyTouch831 I’m a huge Connor fan an also khabib fan, Hell Im a fan of most fighters. I can’t think of one I don’t like. But anyway I totally agree with you. Tony is on an 11-0 streak at lightweight and just got his belt stripped. He deserves the khabib fight not Connor.
So He Lost 1 Of His Last 3 Fights against Maybe The Best UFC Fighter Ever ,He Went all 10 Rounds With Mayweather n Boxing witch Does Not Count On His Record and Made a 100 Million $ He came From Nothing Poor as Fuck .Let Him Fight The Fucking Muslim Extremist again Who Jumps Over Cages Over Talking about His Fucked Up Religion Were a Woman Damn Near Cant B Raped U have No Freedom n .Connor Is 20-4-0 U Make it out Like its another Picture No I'm a Independent with Common Sense .
It's not about who deserves the next fight. It is about how much money can be made by all. Tony Ferguson would rather fight Connor for the money than Khabib for the title. Khabib and his team will fight Connor next because that will be the most money.
Holy shit I love this guy, he talks so much sense and is so level headed. His attitude toward Khabib really took me by surprise. How can he even stand to be anywhere near Conor and Danis. He must appreciate their physical traits but surely can't like them as people.
Harvy355 We see how much disrespect they show towards Khabib and his compatriots, insulting and humiliating all the Muslims in the world. The same thing is done by the program manager by reading their names incorrectly. Everyone supports Islamophobia and the current anti-Islamic politics of hate. Khabib did the right thing and his friend the same. All who insult on a religious and national basis deserve beaten asses. Respect to Winner Khabib!
Mustafa Bosnevi I respect Khabib as a fighter and as a person very much. But it dosent matter if he is Muslim or not what he did was a little bit wrong but I understand why he did it beacuse what Conor did cant be compared with what Khabib did . Second of all this is not the first time UFC disrespects an religion Yoel Romero got ton of shit on his name from Dana White about talking about Jesus after the fight and than Dana White banned to talk about Jesus in UFC and by the way this happend 3 years ago. In the end of the day we are all humans and thats it we all have our opinions towards something and we cant stop it.
Josh From Ohio I am not against any religion, I am only against insulting religious and national feelings. Muslims believe that we are all made up of the same father (Adam) and mother (Eva-Hawa) and that One God created us all(in Arabic Allah means God) All Muslims love God's messengers Adam, Noah, Dawid, Abraham, Moses, Jesus as well as Muhammad (peace is on all of them) but McGregor is lost because of alcohol and fame and he had no measure of insulting. This had to be sanctioned. Today's time is the time of lies, propaganda and hatred. In every way, moral and charity values are attacked and anti-Islamic hate policy is broad widespread. That's why the Muslims are frustrated. Muslims are not just Arabs. I am a pure European and a Muslim to and Islam and Muslims, Christians and Jews have been living in my European country for 1000 years. And this is proof that Islam is universal and not violent. Everyone is lying about Islam and Muslims.
J Ray Of course, for you and yours, common sense is when you enter in rich country, especially Muslim countries and you commit aggression and you kill tens of thousands of innocents Muslim children because you are taught that it is good and that every priest can replace God for all sins instead of God. Christians can not understand common sense because from childhood in the church they watch a scolded, bloody, tortured man on the cross. In Islam everything is reduced to tolerance, respect and peace. Everybody knows that ISIS and all similar groups have created by Jewish-Christian lobbys. And they are not Muslims and Islam.
