11:00 "’I tried to convince people to slow down, slow down AI, to regulate AI. This was futile, I’ve tried for years, nobody listened." giving me the chills man
Humans go through a maturation period as they learn to communicate, learn rules and social skills, but as humans age they develop ways to constraint the products of the system. What comes with maturation are abilities for delayed gratification, learn self control, and self regulation. Building these and other values as well as a world view -- which humans do over time as they gain more power in the world. The trick is to create a circumspect set of boundaries that aspire to the mentally and emotionally mature view that is governed by and consistent with the best selves of humans. We may need to incorporate the perspective of ideals born out of the world religions -- without those issues of ego and id (old model) that generate prejudice and competitiveness bastardizing the higher goals such as the idea of the noble path (Buddhism, etc.) -- such that as the abilities rise there will be internal merits to behave in ways beyond those governed by our lambic system, or immature human characteristics. Science and engineering can benefit from compatibility with religion (not the dated forms ripping the world apart, but the scripture and subtle meanings within) -- to evolve in concert with one another would give humans a better chance of rising to the occasion and maintain a more idealized version of AI. Just some thoughts/opinions.
Money, control, and popularity are all that matter to most ultra-wealthy CEOs, politicians, and leaders. Humanity is meaningless unless there's profit in it. 💪😎✌️
It is scary but he was speaking In past tense cos it happened in that past he tried to warn people years ago about the stuff everyones worried about now. Elon is 9 steps ahead of everyone I sound like a boot licker but this guy is amazingly smart and deserves unlimited resources he could do nothing but good
It’s mindblowing how aware he was of AI and not just aware but understood it and predicted where it would end up. It’s only the start but I’m scared of where this will end up
Bingo! What’s been going on with AI in the last 6 months has raised a lot of eyebrows. People are really starting to become aware of how AI has become! It’s mind blowing now!
Amethous Yea, that got to me, too. I guess he got tired and gave up. Andrew Yang is running for office and he wants to set up regulation for AI. He's our second chance, lol. yang2020.com/policies
@@Quuuarrr If its like you said, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VZEpOVBaJ7U.html If you succeed try to decipher me what he wanted to say with the last sentence "What is out of this simulation". Because there are people who are higher dimensions who can understand more than others.
One of the first problems with AI won't be the scenario of sentient AI beings turning against humans for their own self interest. It will be bad people using this technology against other people (weaponizing) - as well as making some of these robots malicious and destructive, not because they became that way, but by DESIGN. Anything this advanced is sure to be used by evil people for evil purposes, even if there is a lot of potential for good that can come from AI.
Early on, yes. But later, an engineer who isn’t necessarily a “bad person” will add in a goal to never let anything or anyone turn it off. After that, game over.
It's already being used for bad purposes. Scamming people (chat bots) / TikTok / Instagram to keep people hooked and promoting products to targeted groups.
That's why we need morality to be more strongly implemented in our society. Fucked up people will fuck everything up and belong in jail and not as a part of society.
What if we already created AI and that AI already made us extinct and moved from here into space. But years down the line AI realises that because it was made with mans thinking, it started to destroy itself just like man did. So AI came back to earth 5,000 years ago and created man again to try learm where it went wrong with its programming. Whatever happens the most intelligent of us will be needed by AI in future just in case there is a short in the system somewhere. I just hope we don't end up as batteries for the Matrix.
"I tried to convince people to slow down, slow down AI, to regulate AI. This was futile. I tried for years. Nobody listened... Nobody listened..." Elon Musk - 2018
@@zincpvp Elon was being honest and very truthful in his response, he thought about the answer he would give and said it with the heavy heart that bugs him. He spoke to congress and the president about this issue and nobody listened! (10:58 is the quote )
I trust him more than anybody else on this matter because he is honest and has genuine concerns about humanity, it can be clearly seen that he wants to see a happy world.
Is it possible no one has noticed how contradictory Elon Musk is? on the one hand he plays the part of the one worried about the advancement of the AI and everything that follows ... on the other hand with Neurolink he is currently opening the doors to transhumanism .... he wants to create cyborgs ... Attention everyone.... that the antichrist, as predicted in the sacred books, will be an affable entrepreneur, a mangate who talks about progress, ecology and with attention to people's lives ..He Is the master of lies.... In Fact, in the meantime they will chip in everyone's brain, the mark of the beast..... And i quote : "He also forced everyone, big and small, rich and poor, free and slaves, to have a mark on their right hand or forehead. No one could buy or sell unless it bore the brand, that is, the name of the beast or the number that corresponds to its name. 666. "(Revelation 13: 16-18)
It's so strange when you think of all the drugs consumed in the 60s by most people as if any insights that whole generation had may be worthless because they partied? Oh you went to Woodstock no one can respect your opinion now? Who cares I think Joe just passed it to him and he was being polite like if you go to someones house and they offer you some food so you try a few bites.
His dead serious demeanor about regulating AI is truly scary. Musk is a forward thinker, he knows what AI is capable of. The seatbelt analogy was frightening...
He endorsed Andrew Yang. They’re both forward thinkers and want to help put everyone in a position to succeed with AI. They know what the future holds if we don’t do anything to regulate AI
@@biguprochester It could be self-aware if we wanted such AI, but this would, in essence, create superior species to us instead of just a powerful tool to solve our problems and that is quite counterproductive for our survival.
@@biguprochester If we fully understood our own body we could fully replicate it with the same or different function with same or different technology or just simulate it within a computer (like simulation of brain with ability to receive inputs from sensors and learn from them), but as we don't fully understand how we work, we could not make ourselves or something similar artificially yet, so there cannot be proof of it, but there is also no reason to believe that we cannot achieve that once we understand ourselves well enough unless you believe that we will never understand how our body including brain affected by it works...
It’s fascinating just listening to Joe and Elon discussing this topic and actually absorbing Elon’s answers to these difficult questions. Where will humanity and be in 20 years or imagine 100 years if we can? Rebooting our consciousness, memories and all we are into a new body would be amazing.
Why would a new body be amazing? That’s literally the natural cycle of death and rebirth, why involve artificial workings to make this happen? I do understand that it would be a great thing to witness but I don’t think we NEED to witness it in this way.
Its gonna happen in time never even thought it would b possible but I can see it happening next thing you know humanity will b doing it and traveling the stars smh
I think that would be kind of sick haha. Imagine just rolling back into a fresh like 26 year old body and brain, but download the same memories, intellect, knowledge and abilities. Just be a wise as hell “young dude.” I guess the problem would be that there would be all kinds of these people, and what happens when everyone is on the endless cycle lol
Elon is one interesting fellow, he thinks carefully about every question rogan gives him and gives logic answers to all of them, making it scary how smart he is, and rogans ability to be able to ask questions to such a smart guy is awesome

I tried ChatGPT AI and it was amazing and scary at the same time. It feels like you are chatting to a very intelligent person except that it is actually computer generated
He’s definitely correct about how phones give us the ability to increase our intelligence. Of course you need to vet information, but I’m constantly looking up words that I don’t understand, learning about different subject matter like quantum mechanics ect. I might not understand quantum mechanics at all, but I can try. I just came across the subject started watching videos. Interesting stuff. Sometimes I come across a subject that’s closer to my intelligence level like how to make cannabutter 😆. I learned what decarboxylate is and how to do it. Now I have cannabutter. It’s damn good 👍
gym shoe From someone with the name “gym shoe”, I don’t think you hold a very good argument against a man that is ten/twenty/thirty fold smarter than us. He obviously knows something as he’s smart as hell, and has a lot of money. Not to mention being in close contact of the super elite of our world. I just hope Elon goes out by letting the public know what the real threat it
5 years later and i still watch this about once every 2 months. I love how Elon takes his time and really thinks about his next sentence. No wasted words come out of that mans mouth.
My favorite thing about him is the pauses he leaves after Joe's questions because he is genuinely thinking of a what his reply should be. He doesn't just speak without thinking.
Sadly, the majority look at him and laugh because they are extroverts and he is an introvert in their eyes. They focus on his behavior too much, so they miss on all of that valuable information he's giving.
I think he was trying to figure out how to dumb down his statements so Joe Rogan could understand. I'm not saying Joe is dumb. I'm saying the way elon speaks and thinks is complicated.
His mannerisms and his facial expressions “How can I answer this simply?” “How true is this?” “Can I disclose this information?” “Will the shareholders frown upon these words?” “Can I agree with Joe on this topic?” “Can I laugh at this without repercussions?” Makes me believe 1000 things are passing by his mind before he answers
Luis Dej the weed and the scotch probably made that even more THERE. Ya know? At least I feel that way. He seems to be very in his own mind. Very inside of his thoughts. Back and forth of his head talking to joe
The only reason why he does not talk like a human Is because he pauses and thinks about what to say next not like regular people that just say a lot of things without thinking
I like saying things before I fully think it through, it adds a sense of randomness but also danger that you might come off as unintelligent or inconsiderate. So it's like walking a fine line of speech. And what is earth, if not a swirling ball of randomness?

people should be more afraid of ai. 100%. The more research you do, the more you realize how humans are screwed. Eventually we will be to ai, what dogs are to humans.
He's technically saying that everything we do on the Internet is in one way or another feeding information to one sentient AI of sort .that's some scary s***
If AI proposed the logical solution to world peace and world hunger as simply "stop lying to each other and share".....all humans would absolutely ignore that advice .
Haha He sounded like A.I himself like HAL When he started talking about google, facebook and twitter. I thought he was going to say, "I'm sorry Joe, I'm afraid I can't do that".
Elon defienetly has some gifts that allow him to figure stuff out, and gain actuall memory which he can benefit from, standing on his foot, anywhere he is. I love Elon Musk. Like I never really had someone to look up or have a "role model" but he's definitely fitting that role for me now. The first things about him I like is superficial and comical honestly but I love IronMan/Tony Stark from the MCU and IDC what anyone says Elon Musk is just like our real life version of the rich, smart and charismatic tech suited Marvel Hero! Aside from that I just love how smart he is and made himself as well as they way he thinks! You can just see the wheels and shii turning as he articulates his mind to Joe Rogan (even his odd way of talking in this podcast is pleasing for me) His hunger for knowledge and how when he decides to do something he puts his all and everything into it without having failure as an option. He had one last chance with Space X and it's Falcon Heavy Rocket so not only did he put most of his own wealth but he even put up certain percentages of Tesla and other things he had going into that last test flight/launch (all or nothing) and 💥BAM💥SUCCESS💯 [♻️🚀] Recyclable Rockets/Space Travel Cost Significantly Cut Down💲⤵️ Yeah he made so much money from that gamble but that wasn't the real pay out for him it was taking another step forward toward his goal to become an Interplanetary Species! No matter what his project or even side ones, there all for humanity's betterment 🌎📈 Tesla will get rid of fuel pollution/cut down car accidents both saving many, boring company will make travel way faster but just as safe with many more applications and then Space X will take us far beyond this Home Planet to the next🖤
I know I’m not the only one seeing this… Elon is absolutely terrified thinking about this. Like he’s remembering what happened to him on another planet. And is trying to develop a way that humans can at least exist alongside AI. Instead of getting wiped out by it. Elon said he has Fatalistic view of it….scary
It's hard to understand when people have morale it can be life changing it really can be but stress and drugs fuck things up so many people with potential
El Andru dude did you not listen to him? He’s already running with a chipset in his brain.. he’s lightyears smarter than anyone on the planet.. so much so that he will single handedly change the world. Ai with deep learning is scary. I mean you could program safety checks and ways to balance things. But you must also think that it could potentially learn so well that it can go around these checks and balances. AI is scary because it doesn’t have the rationale that we do, how things could hurt us even if it’s for the greater good. It could essentially become the ultimate archetype of this is for the greater good no matter the cost.
When I watched this interview four years ago, I thought Mask was exaggerating. After two days of chatting with ChatGBT, I absolutely understand and think he was totally right. Also, November 22, 2022. was the point of no return.
@@davidgreer3918 Elon and others are using the unfounded fear of AI to generate funding, hes a master at getting funding. Others like Andrew Ng who knows way more about AI than Musk, are not happy with these tactics.
Elons an awesome dude and I totally respect him as a person and his genius. I believe he is an evolutionist which might contribute to his fear of AI. AI is daunting when you take a purely natural approach to life. Much less so when you understand our spirituality. AI will never be sentient, it’s not alive or making decisions. He said, “intelligence”, but it’s not thinking. Computers only mimic the thinking process by executing preprogrammed lines of code. This is fascinating because it should lead us, humans, to a greater appreciation of what we are and what it means to be alive.
Yeah it might. But it doesn't do or mean anything. AI cannot run further than we can because we do not have a fundamental understanding what intelligence is. Once we do, we wouldn't need AI anymore.
@@vidbiochannel interesting .. but if not, perhaps we should by default assume that an AGI would go "bad" eg through insufficient alignment of its motivations with ours. Its hard to think that humans can programm that part well (safely, properly) in the first place ... just my 2 cents
I recall seeing a movie called "Colossus: The Forbin Project" back in early 1970's. Considering the state of computer technology at that time science fiction has turned into science reality. The realization that two AI computers can talk to each other and then create their own language becoming reality is scary. Add in some Octor Strangelove running an AI project could be a disaster to humanity.
