It was a beautiful sunny day, I was doing a painting for a client and smoking massive amounts of joints to get ideas (I sell paintings as a side hustle) and this was the exact episode I was listening to at the time when it first came out. When he passed, this episode was the first thing that came to mind. The reason is, was it really opened my mind up about him and I saw him in a different, as to when I viewed him from Full House. He was also good in that movie with Pryor. Seeing his Instagram post when he said “looking forward to touring, I feel like I’m 26 again doing stand up. Can’t wait to see you guys soon” .. literally HURT to read. But this episode alone was super funny. Finding out he passed, honestly ruined my night. Rest in piece to a true legend 🤙🏼🌹
R.I.P. Bob, America's Dad! From a fellow ex Sealcoater & Also Current Artist Painter this was a strange hole to fall into. So I guess we have more than the Love of Joe Rogan and Bob Saget.
@JOE IS DRIVIN SUNNY FLORIDA nothing He made a joke at his roast about finding the Olsen twins attractive as adults They attended his funeral They were never offended
@@paulinadeluca9117 I know what Stockholm syndrome is I HIGHLY doubt they have it. Not one person has one negative/mean thing to say about Bob. Everything you hear isn't always true.
After watching this podcast for a couple of years now, I've come to appreciate guests like Bob Saget ... he's not a highly-intelligent academic, and he's not my favorite person in the world, but he actually engages with Joe. Some people (like Hannibal Burress) are super-funny on stage or are very interesting in whatever field they're in, but they act like they they're just letting the podcast happen to them. Bob Saget seems like he's actually trying to have a conversation.
Dont forget many guests are afraid to talk just incase they say something that gets them cancelled. You can see it in their faces when certain topics arise they just dodge it
I never realized how down to earth Bob was. Definitely locked in my childhood memories growing up with 2 sisters. Thanks Danny Tanner! RIP....awesome pod again Joe
I met Saget once when I was doing security at a casino during his stand up tour. He made a joke about me being too young to have a gun during his skit (I was doing side stage security, no gun btw), talked to him after and he said thanks for playing along with it, cool guy.
i had a crazy experience with saget. When I was younger, maybe junior high, I got roped into watching my 3 month old niece while my sister got her hair done. SO when there i am, sitting in the waiting area of a hair salon with my niece, and who walks in, but bob saget. I was nervous as fuck, and just kept looking at him, as he read a magazine and waited, but didn't know what to say. Pretty soon though my niece started crying, and I'm trying to quiet her down because I didn't want her to bother mr saget, but she wouldn't stop. Pretty soon he gets up and walks over. He started running his hands through her hair and asking what was wrong. I replied that she was probably hungry or something. So, he put down his magazine, picked up my niece and lifted his shirt. He breast fed her right there in the middle of a hair salon. Chill guy, really nice about it.
fruitypeebils Hahaha you had me going for a second. If this is implying that I’m lying I’m most definitely not, you meet a surprising number of acts at casinos during their tours, Saget was the most famous I met, others there have met Gabriel Iglesias, Frank Sinatra Jr., Florida Georgia Line, they all require security.
No he wasn't. He just played a character on tv.. if you sat all day everyday in front of the TV watching full house or always carried the TV with u while full house played than maybe there was a sick influence .
@@Victoria_Loves_Jesus that's called a bit. Hey, Miss ChristIsKing, why is it that the people who need to proclaim how religious they are also show themselves to be the true scourge of society?
My delayed ass phone brought me to this gem on it's own. Right after I watched Dave chapelles clip where he shared his regrets on not having the time to reply back to Bob Sagets last text to him. That's heartbreaking. RIP danny tanner I'm grateful to have been able to come up in this life watching this man. And you know what, I ain't even mad at my phone for the delayed tap in.
I just say legend in that whether you like him or not hes found success in doing what he wants (stand up, UFC, etc) but he has also done alot for the comedy community as a whole like Bill Burr has with All Things Comedy to help up and coming talents. He's earned the respect he has is all I'm saying.
I remember watching this episode when I was out of town for work at struggling with personal things and listening to this made me forget the world for a little while. RIP Bob Saget.
I coulda sat around listening to these guy break down comedy and talk about these comedians forever. The people these two met, worked work and learned from is just insane.
@@garybierman1621 I think Joe was worried that Bob was nervous or bombing, and in so doing missed a lot of fantastic self-deprecating delivered humor. It's Bob!
Drew Maw That’s not it I don’t think. It went over Joe’s head because he is so concerned a guest will say something not politically correct, and then Joe having to deal with the fallout. I’ve watched his behavior for years and I’m certain this is it. Joe always says, “we comedians tell the most heinous offensive jokes behind closed doors”. But it seems like when an comedian tells an actual joke on the fly, it goes right over his head. I think he is drastically disconnected. Just my opinion.
What a great/funny & loving man. I have heard a lot of stories of him trying to help other people who were going through some bad times, dealing with divorce/death or sickness and all the people said he was there for them, unconditional. R.I.P BOB.
I delivered some food to a hotel once and the customer and I were doing the exchange in the lobby and bob walking past us said "Give him a big tip....and a little bit of shaft". The dude that was paying got really awkward (pretty sure he was going to stiff me) and I busted out laughing. Had the biggest shit eating grin the rest of that week. RIP Bob.
Love how how comedians think they are the only ones that say crazy shit to make their friends laugh and are the only ones who could possibly understand it. That happens with every group of friends with a sense of humor across the world since the beginning of time.
They are the elite entertainers of the world and only they can truly understand comedy, shit, that's a hilarious joke in itself. Joe is a great interviewer and is very smart, but a comedian he definitely is not. It's my opinion, so save your b.s. comments on how joe and his squad is so funny
Wow...my mom just passed away last year (3/10/2019) from scleroderma. Interesting to hear about it from Bob. She fought this awful disease for about 6 years. Went to Mayo. Nothing worked. I sure hope Bob can, in fact, help people with this disease. I would love to have another chance to have her try anything new...
Goddamn it! Sitting at work with the earbud in and here it comes. This episode. Still get a little teary. Part of my childhood died. RIP Bob. Forever missed.
You did. He may not have come home from work and ruffled your hair everyday... but you can still learn the lessons he taught and rest assured, he'd love you no matter what.
You might want to seek therapy. No disrespect. Something seems off with your understanding of satire. I'm not bullying you. I just want you to get help. I'm afraid you might hurt your self or someone else.
He talks about personally dying multiple times it's strange. RIP ALSO funniest standup comedian I've ever seen live, he had us all crying laughing! One of the best nights of my life.
I grew up knowing Bob Saget as "Danny Tanner" so whenever I see him now it surprises and shocks me when he swears and then I remember oh yeah he's a comedian
Try getting "Michael James Burry" on, The movie "The big short" is based on him. The man knew 2008 financial crisis and bet against it in 2005. Would love his story and views on current affairs.
Oh yeah that will help. Burry starts talking statistics about black on black crime for 45 minutes while not making eye contact with his one good eye. Rogan finally cuts him off. Michael have you ever tried DMT? Plus what the hell is short selling anyway?
I think the headphone are fucking with the shape of his head/face I haven’t watched the whole thing but his face might not look as puffy if he takes the headphones off
When Joe said I'm gonna keep doing this till the wheels fall off. I pictured a time with out his podcast and made me realize if Joe decides to stop this thing that he's doing I and I'm sure many many people will truly be sad . What you guys have built here is truly something amazing
I hear you, but because of joe we will have a lot of great alternatives like Tim Dillon and the Tin foil podcast and others. None like the JRE but what can you do. Everything eventually comes to an end.
What a sweet, genuine, down to heartg guy Bob is. Like the whole interview he does nothing but pay people compliments and really speak from the heart about people(some of whom aren't even alive) and show so much respect and reverence for them. This was a great podcast. For one it wasn't about Back Packs and two it was someone Joe clearly didn't know that well and he got to ask him questions.
Never been a fan of Bob's standup, but he's a really funny, clever, and kind person, and it especially shows here. Loved his quick little one liners that Joe didn't catch.
It was hilarious! I realise that this is a difficult skill, but more comics should learn to swallow their pride and do this when their jokes or ideas flop. The few times Bob did it here, I found myself laughing at the following exchange and the whole scenario etc. way more than I imagine I would have if the jokes hadn’t bombed in the first place 😂 makes me really miss Mitch Herberg haha.
Thanks for this Joe. So much truth in this episode. Especially when Bob spoke of the funny people who are gone too soon. Stay strong Joe… just keep doing what you do.
Well Joe is a “comedian” but has had a podcast for ten years and has never told a joke. Well he has laughed really hard at things he has said and he thought was funny. But nobody else laughs.
My dad was a patrol cop in the 70's and 80's b4 he made detective. He always speaks about his training in de-escalation. Cops have huge ego's now and don't understand de-escalation.
Read the body cam transcripts from George Floyd incident. Released a few days ago. You can find them on the whopping two websites who had the balls to release them.
Might sound weird but Bob was like my "TV dad" growing up in the 80s/90s, he occupied the majority of prime time viewing in our household with Full House and AFHV. Then one day as an adult I saw him in a movie doing some really dirty lines, and been following him since then as a comedian. Its really fun to watch him in interviews, sounds weird but he feels like an old friend. Very thoughtful and insightful guy, on top of being funny.
Maybe he has no THC in him. Maybe he has developed a bit of bad habit. I don't mind weed but,m ignorantly claiming it does only good and smoking like an an alcoholic drinks or junkie pins? It's gonna have an affect when he finally goes without - even though weed isn't meant to be addictive, alter your mind often enough and 'normal' is awful. Plus he's in the middle of preparing to move house - the most stressful thing behind dealing with a habit... Probably an unpopular take but, I think it's plausible. Might be wrong though
@@funky7chunky im fully with you on this. You're stating facts my friend. Just felt like my sense of humor was off because Joe was quite and I was howling lol.
@@KaweoD Thanks man. I fucked up a long time ago and was addicted to class A's. Took me years and having to ask for help to actually break away and get free. Now I feel I can spot others struggling with substance problems instantly. There's a lot of little tells that stick out if you've been through it. I know weed is nothing really but, if done daily it can be. Weed is by far a more intense buzz than even OD'ing on Heroin though and most people would never think that. Man I really fucked up. Glad those days are gone! Take care buddy!
Had to revisit this Pod since Bob passed... It's amazing how many facets of our lives he touched when your look back. Not only that, from all accounts, a REALLY decent human, something we sorely need at this point.
what was that all about..... did he disown Brendan AND Eddie. makes me nervous..... Joe entertains me with guests, but i do NOT trust anything he says! especially vitamins, JUST EAT REAL FOODS, not chemically formed pills!
7 minutes and 40 seconds in...Saget had me cracking up 6 times already. Dude is a legend of comedy. "Actual shit spray...they freckle you." "There's a product called Freckled, & they're taking it off the market."
I mean, they still put one on here occasionally. Fuck Spotify. I´m sorry, the deal didn´t work out the way you wished for you. But I´m 100% RU-vid! No Twitter, no Facebook, no fucking Snapchat, nothing! I don´t do this shit! RU-vid EARNED their place with me!
@MUFC2 right right right but what in gods name does that have to do with this. I’m genuinely confused and concerned, and if you’re such a fan why are you referring to that specific sport as “soccer”. ???
i miss it also lately on spotify its just audio the spotify vidios were so clear i loved them but now for some reason its just audio i hope that changes
Wow listening to him for this long makes me sad to realize what a cool guy he was. I grew up on him. Im so sad to see him gone. Love you Bob Saget. America....America.....this is you!
One of Rickles' best lines: "Why don't you get a horse and live in the mountains someplace and don't bother anybody. You got a personality like a dead moth."
well, it's a long time ... and your memory WILL GET fuzzy with age :3 you won't remember details ... also, u never know, what was really in other people's head ... so yeah "it's true ... it's what i heard ... but oh well, if that really happened that way ... maybe people just told bull-sh it ..." so, yeah ... it's like today ... same sh it, different time :3
I always listen to Joe Rogan's podcast but I remember EXACTLY where I was when this episode aired specifically because of the love I had for Bob Saget I was so excited. It was a rough ass day working for lawn doctor spraying for mosquitoes at this ridiculously huge house in the middle of nowhere NJ. He genuinely kept me laughing and so focused. Thank you for your legacy and making people laugh in a sometimes-super dark world. You are a god damn legend!
Joe, I was one of those shy people who couldn't do anything because I was "nervous" and "scared". I never had anyone teach me the lesson that if you conquer this fear it will never bother you again and I held on to these negative aspects until my early 20's when I couldn't help the urge to grow the fuck up.
I love that joe seems to be one of the most genuine celebs. And the fact that he can just have fun and talk with his guests is great. I feel honored to watch these. It feels like sitting around with them and just shooting the shit. Just talking.
I really liked when Saget talked about how him and Stamos get together every now and then and play rock band together. That's so awesome and I hope my friends do similar shit like that when we are older say 20 years from now. We may have aged and went through our different paths in life but we can still set aside some time with our best close friends and goof off like we were kids again.
