If you've ever thought to try rockclimbing it's an EXCELLENT way to keep you focused on the present and overcome anxiety, particularly lead climbing on traditional (removable) gear (which 'may' pop - extremely rare), not fixed bolts and brackets (which are bomb-proof). Nothing like the threat of death or maiming to force you to get your sh*t back together. For some icing on the cake, do a Vipassana meditation retreat and learn to control your wandering monkey-brain... My 'positive word' for my shot-cycle, and both of these two activities which have REALLY helped my archery, is "Breeeethe,"
I’ve been shooting archery for about 6 years and only in that last year, when I started getting “Good” did I develop target panic. Not even in competition but in my backyard alone the pressure to put that arrow in the center of the bullseye is intense. I got to where I could even lift my pin, felt like my bow weigh 500 pounds. Currently trying to figure it out
