Taylor Sheridan, the only man in "Hollywood" that appreciates us people of rural America; Oklahoma born Appalachian raised from 6 months old to today at 39. I appreciate his tip of the hat to families like mine that have fought & bled, sometimes died in every war from the Revolutionary War to Nam. We have held the same 55 acres in the Smoky Mts for over 200 years when you were considered poor for owning less than a couple hundred acres in those Mts. We have had no great men according to society in my family, but they have all married women they love, been a father to their sons, taught Biblical truths to them, and attempted to live by them. They have all lived not simple, but honest lives, & all but a great uncle & my worldly miserable rich brother abstained from alcoholism. It is a rare thing to see rural people portrayed in a fairly positive/little country guy vs gov/big business, people who expect their Bill of Rights to be respected or will make their Rights be respected.

I just binge watched 1883 and 1923. My opinion? OMG! OMG! OMG! How is it I didn't know about these two wonderful, epic, heart-moving series? Truly two of the best stories I've ever watched, on par with Lonesome Dove. The writing, the dialogue, the landscapes, the acting, were all superlative. Congrats and thank-you, Mr. Sheridan!

Saying I don’t know how you can kill an animal while eating meat doesn’t necessarily mean you’re taking some moral high ground. I have no problem with hunting because of course I’m a meat eater. But I don’t think I could personally kill the animal. Guess that’s why I’m super thankful for those who do choose to hunt.

I’d like to make a point about the vegan discussion. The point that veganism kills lots of animals is true. But the tillage required to grow food for the animals that meat eaters then eat, is more impactful, that just eating the plant food that grows. If you eat meat, animals die from tillage, then livestock dies when you eat it. That’s twice (if not more) the impact on animals and the environment. That’s not an attack, it’s just a fact.

However, I feel that Sheridan started jerking us around…letting Yellowstone sit while he started other projects. Why not finish something before you start something new. Ethical veganism is indefensible? All I can see Joe doing here is being agreeable so to that Taylor feels free to say what he understands about the situation. But he's just dead wrong. We have mastered our environment. Just that the farmers have not had an economic incentivization to develop farming techniques to minimize the amount of animal destruction in our current farming processes. The goal to vegetarians is to constantly assess the food process to minimize as much of animal harm as possible. Never allow perfection to get in the way of the Good. You can't claim that farming vegetables is causing more harm to animals vs hunting when the farmers never werer taught to or economically encentivized to mitigate the death of grounding and nesting animals in the crop harvest processes for over 150 years of modern farming. Trees growing will destroy other plant life....what b/s. What's the difference between people and trees...one organism has the intellegence to master its environment (aka Engineers) while the other is a fkn plant. If you live in a community where the economic and personal costs to having plant based protein diet is not viable, there's no moral issue there with not being vegetarian. However, if you can get the same protein and healthy diet from one isle over in your grocery store over picking meat as a meal option, then yes, you are choosing to eat meat just because you like the taste and its cultural; but its not ethical at all to do. India has billions of people in it and the vast majority of them are vegetarian. So dont tell me that this is just the natural way to be is an omnivor. B/S its cultural choice and lazy because you just happen to have grown up learning the recipies of how to cook meat instead of trying to learn a new recipe. This ignorant conversation is the point of the critics about Yellowstone. Its just Redneck porn. The biker scene in Yellowstone...those bikers are from literally any state USA. But of course they had to make them from CA. We all know people in every community in the USA that act exactly like those bikers. Just like we all know the guy at the gun range that causes everyone else to leave because of how unsafe they are. Its not state vs state, its people vs people; Painting people from an entire nation, like the chinese that were in the tour bus viewing the bear or the bikers from CA is just as big of a problem with our culture now as anything else going on in our civil discord with each other.
