Brian cox got me so interested in science about 20 years ago. Iv watched him traverse through his career and he hasn't changed a bit. He is hands down my favorite physicist and possibly even my favorite figure head. He helped me pass so many classes, gave me an understanding of complex things that used to baffle me. He is a treasure, he should be way more known than any of the celebrities out there.

Joe Rogan is is such a curious and insightful interviewer. When people say the people that Joe brings onto his shows are so intelligent, they forget the fact that only two highly intellectual beings can have such interestingly mind-boggling conversations. I mean I am astonished and awestruck by how many things he knows and his ability to ask the questions that he does. Thank you Joe for having the ability to extract such interesting conversations from anyone you interview, you truly are a genius!

There are a lot of things I don't agree with Joe's views. But my interest isn't about him, my interest are about the conversations. In most of his videos he brings out some legit questions and I like how he actually listens and interact with the conversations. He doesn't cloud or blurs out the answers from his guests. So, I like listening to most of his podcasts. Others don't catch my fancy, but a lot of times he does bring in some interesting guest.

@ac-gp3kz
@ac-gp3kz 3 года назад
Absolutely. thats his gift, explaining concepts that the layman can understand. i went to see Michio Kaku a few years ago having read a couple of his books and felt the talk was directed at schoolchildren, he explained everything like he was talking to a bunch of school kids when in fact it was a hall full of adults who had most likely read his books, the best part of the night was when the audience got to ask questions. thats when the real in depth stuff got talked about. there were heaps of super smart people in the audience that were well educated and could grasp the concepts and got to the really indepth stuff and thats when it got interesting, if there had been no q&a from the audience it would have been boring as shit. Brian Cox has the gift of explaining stuff that we normals can understand without being treated like dumbos. He's by far the best at conveying these concepts in a way most people can grasp. And best of all you can tell he's completely absorbed ih his field, he clearly loves sharing his knowledge in a way normal folk can understand. seems to be devoid of ego, just full of wonder, I think he is fantastic,

People who so easily dismiss actors as knowing little forget that they are TRAINED to MEMORIZE a massive amount of data in a short period of time. You can't be stupid to do that. And that means something. Imagine George Clooney given say 10 pages of medical jargon PER WEEK for YEARS, when even people training to be REAL doctors might have trouble remembering. The fact Joe was on a sitcom and had to memorize dialogue, or even his comedy routine, it isn't surprising to me he knows so much about so many things in general. And you could argue Joe isn't even a SERIOUS actor. Someone like Anthony Edwards, also on ER had mORE medical Jargon to remember for years longer than George. AND MAYBE we all hope we could get a doctor as seeemingly compassionate as Edwards appeared onscreen.

I'm not a scientist but I think what he's saying is if you used a laser, and pointed it over the horizon you would see the Earth curvature, while when it's used in space, there is none.... If I remember correctly they used a couple of lasers, and pointed them in such a way as to make a < shape. There was no measurable curve that you would expect in a sphere shaped expanding universe.
@jamesmorseman3180
@jamesmorseman3180 4 года назад
@@RickySpanish12344 easier to think of it as that on the largest scales, parallel lines will stay parallel forever, and the angels of a triangle add up to 180 degrees. Neither of those would be true in a universe with positive or negative curvature. He doesn't mean flat as in the universe is 2D (which it might be btw check out the holographic principle) he just means that geometry is the same as it would be on a 2D surface which is the whole parallel lines and triangle thing.

Best way i think about "million" "billion" and "trillion" is as follows: a Million takes 12 days to count to. A billion takes 32 years to count to and a trillion takes 32,000 years to count to. @@LIQUIDSNAKEz28 And I'm not a "conservative" either.. Anyone taking a political label of any sort is brainwashed.. Although this is coming from an American perspective it should apply to any nation under the federal reserve system which is almost all of them... Over 70 percent of America is on a pharmaceutical drug and over half are on two.. Society suffers from consumerism, materialism, class-ism, racism, bullying, addiction, depression, anxiety etc etc etc.. People are slaves to the federal reserve dollar and the State, The Federal Reserve prints the slave's dollars which inflates the prices of goods and services overtime just enough to keep them working for life and to prevent them from saving money or wealth and passing it down to the next generation of their family. Corporations own and control all the good Artists and push agendas with them.. The educational system is nothing but indoctrination.. (I pledge allegiance to the flag).. The Healthcare system is really a sick care system which drugs people up until death at extreme costs to their families wealth.. The legal system is really built on Maritime Admiralty Laws (citizen-ship), which your parents are manipulated into signing you into as a human corporation through your birth certificate.. The legal system enslaves you as a citizen, while pushing unjust ideas like the "drug war", while doctors are simply legal drug dealers.. It targets minorities, and the prison system is a business ran on the Stock Exchange.. Media is controlled and used to brainwash the masses through "television programming" and social media, divide and conquer strategies are used to divide the masses by race, religion, flags, borders and politics (left vs Right), people are literally programmed.. Sporting events such as Football and Basketball are used to distract people from the truth, and most Americans love their beer which is poison and legal so they spend their free-time in bars while cheating on their spouses.. Porn is freely available to help destruct the family unit and subdue male ambition.. People are fed GMO foods while being fluoridated through their water supply and toothpaste.. People are being blasted by cellphone and Wifi radiation 24/7.. You can't even own something like property (ownership and freedom is an illusion) because if you miss a property tax payment it will be taken with the home on the land.. Tax is literally extortion or theft by threat of violence and caging, and taxes as well as inflation has it to where 95% of society will never get ahead and will die medicated with some kind of "mental illness" which doesn't even truly exist, these are in fact just labels used to explain away certain states of mind which are normally a result of this oppressive system. Taxes are used to slaughter millions of people who are in the way of this war machine made up of brainwashed slaves.. Americans are brainwashed and suckered into supporting unjustified wars under the banner of false ideas such as "The War on Terrorism", which isn't even an enemy so it gives the establishment the go ahead to attack anyone they want for as long as they want.. Parents will even send their children off to be slaughtered to protect this sickening system.. The American Dream is a dream.. The term "American Dream" is used to brainwash you as well..

@@Jaceftp I wrote a general term, for the RU-vid comment that's more than sufficient. I didn't write anything specific and nor should you, unless you are the guy who drops the knowledge in the comment section(which I'm doing right now by answering you😂) :) I'm a research scientist myself and more than familiar who is what and in what degree. For the general public Brian, Sean, Neil, Lawrence and etc. are all SCIENTISTS, doesn't matter whether they are doing actual research or just being science communicators. They are all part of the science cluster. ✌

A light saber is possible but the design given in the books/movies depends on a crystal, which doesn't exist on Earth, that amplifies a beam of light. That means any design we could conceive of would not be an actual light saber but a laser sword. He's technically right but we could create something similar to a light saber.

Actually, he doesn't seem to know that lightsabers aren't made of "light". The beam is actually plasma. So that already fixes the distance thing. You could have some kind of magnetic field around the beam.
