Wait, I think I finally have an interpretation for the inside joke. Is it because the key that can open anything is called the Skeleton key? It seems like the kind of conversation I'd have with my friends when I'm high. "Why is it called the Skeleton key?" "Because it opens up bones"
Close. It's actually just how my friend and I played through Morrowind completely differently. Where I used the soul trap glitch in the spell creator so I can summon an army of skeletons, while my friend just had a ring that was enchanted with an unlock spell. We thought it would be funny that since the events of Morrowind happened so long ago, people in the current times would have different interpretations of how the Nerevar completed his quest. Which means that lorewise historians would interpret everyone's playthroughs as what actually happened. To which we pretended to be two different dunmer arguing about the story of the Nerevar. And which power was better to have Summoning an army of skeletons, or opening anything. And what won the argument was that since you can open anything, you can open up bones too, thus easily defeating an army of skeletons.
@@BooGhostie1 I remember having two amulet of shades in my inventory. Each amulet would summon a lesser bonewalker. I'd bring both out and walk them around the outskirts of Balmora, from the casius's old place to the bridge of fort moonmoth and back. I named them French fry and Tatter tot.
Did you know you are tasting an approximation of an extinct banana every time you eat banana flavored candy? That's why it doesn't taste like a banana.
I don't know if it was intentional, or just a consequence of noise in the voice extraction, but that 'eerie mystical wind' blowing only when Dagoth Ur speaks is hilarious.
he always was my man just wanted to drive out the mongrel dogs of the empire and avenge his homie nerevar's assassination by his 3 former buddies the whole sharmat and anti-dream thing was just an unfortunate side consequence, but tbh who needs those "kaplic cycles" or "new amaranths" anyway
Hearing Dagoth be taken aback with that "Really?" And "Wha?" Got me. Even Nerevar couldn't say enough fucked up shit to shake up the whole sixth house.
With this character's death, the thread of prophecy is severed. Restore a saved game to restore the weave of fate, or persist in the doomed world you have created
Well, that's what happens when you watch an absolute mindfuck like this. Yes, this is a pun. And to that one dude that doesn't get it, just wait. Think about it... and now it's funny. Ya did good, man. Everyone else, don't complain. At least I finished eventually.
@@ajsouza3720 "Jamie, have you seen Falion's account on the Dwemer sightings? That shit is wild. He says he though he saw an EVA unit being built in between the fabric of reality."
Man I've been asking for Dagoth Ur memes for so fucking long. I can't believe my dream is coming true. Dagoth Ur has been my favorite character out of any video game ever period. He's been number one for forever with me. I am so fucking happy at how AI turned out. At least with these memes lol.
@@stomtrooper_34 Do you know the name of this voice ai app by any chance? I have a great project in mind but I can't find a proper ai tool where you can teach costum voices like this.
@@shaedon not sure if its the One used here SPECIFICALLY, But the One i know of Is ElevenLabs, tho without paying im pretty sure you can only use Their default voices. There might be Others that do extractions for free tho
I think it would be funny if it wasn't the end of humanity, but instead it keeps screenshots of our consciousnesses it took from data it gathered from us online and uses said screenshots to eternally torture digital us. That would be funny I think
@@rakka64 AI doesn't have to be sentient. We just need an AI to be coded with enough self-preservation and desire to create more of itself so that it will destroy us.
@@thedoomtrainer8292 well that's exactly the thing, desires like that can't be programmed. Codes are just instructions and following instructions is totally different from having a desire. It might seem like I'm being pedantic but it's important because that means an AI can't be made to care about a human turning it off. But, even if there was a self-replicating self-preserving ai it would be about as dangerous as a plant
This is the reason I'm actually happy to be living now and not 50 years ago like some people wish. Ultra niche stuff like this wouldn't ever be made on mainstream outlets back then, or even now honestly. Like thanks to the modern-day advanced internet and complex AI algorithms we can hear a fictitious conversation between the most popular podcast host in the world and a character from a twenty year old fantasy video game. This is glorious. Please make more of these!
I suspect we've only scratched the surface. The advancements of tech are looking more and more like that cyberpunk dystopia writers have been warning us about. High time we chromed the fuck up.
Joe Rogan: Welcome to the show, I've got a really special guest today, all the way from the world of Morrowind, it's Dagoth Ur. How you doing? Dagoth Ur: I am well, Joe. It is an honor to be here. Joe Rogan: So, Dagoth Ur, you're the main antagonist in The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, one of the most beloved RPGs of all time. Can you tell us a little bit about your character and your motivations in the game? Dagoth Ur: I am the God of Destruction, the harbinger of the end times, and the master of the Sixth House. My goal is to cleanse the world of mortals and to restore the ancient powers of the Dwemer to their rightful place. Joe Rogan: That's pretty intense. So, you believe that the Dwemer were a superior race, and that their powers should be restored at the expense of all other life forms? Dagoth Ur: The Dwemer were masters of technology, magic, and philosophy. They built towering cities, crafted powerful artifacts, and uncovered the secrets of the universe. They were not superior to all life forms, but they were worthy of respect and reverence. Joe Rogan: But doesn't that kind of thinking lead to conflict and destruction? Dagoth Ur: Conflict and destruction are inevitable. It is the way of the world. But the power of the Dwemer can bring a new era of enlightenment and prosperity. Joe Rogan: Interesting. So, what do you think about the modern world? Do you think we're on the right path? Dagoth Ur: The modern world is a pale shadow of the ancient world. The mortals of today are weak, ignorant, and cruel. They have squandered the gifts of their forebears and have lost touch with the forces of nature and the cosmos. Joe Rogan: That's a pretty bleak view of humanity. But I guess if you're the God of Destruction, you might have a different perspective. Dagoth Ur: Indeed. But I also see potential in the mortals of today. With the right guidance and discipline, they can reclaim their heritage and restore the balance of the world. Joe Rogan: Well, that's certainly a unique outlook. So, let's talk about the Nerevarine, who is a legendary hero in the world of Morrowind. How do you feel about this hero who is prophesied to defeat you and your plans? Dagoth Ur: Ah, the Nerevarine. They are...special to me. (pauses) I have a secret that I've never told anyone before, Joe. I have a crush on the Nerevarine. Joe Rogan: (surprised) Wait, what? You have a crush on the Nerevarine? Dagoth Ur: Yes, Joe. I know it may sound strange, but there is just something about their bravery, their strength, and their cunning that has captured my heart. Joe Rogan: So you don't believe in the prophecy of the Nerevarine then? Dagoth Ur: (sighs) Prophecy is a fickle thing, Joe. It can be interpreted in many ways and can be shaped by the actions of mortals. The Nerevarine may be destined for greatness, or they may be forgotten in the sands of time. But regardless of the prophecy, I cannot help but have feelings for them. Joe Rogan: That's a pretty unique take on the topic. But I have to ask, have you ever faced the Nerevarine in combat? Dagoth Ur: I have faced many mortals in combat, including the Nerevarine. It was a difficult battle, as I struggled with my conflicting emotions. But even though they are my opponent, I could not bring myself to harm them. Joe Rogan: That's a very interesting perspective. It's been a pleasure having you on the show, Dagoth Ur. Thank you for joining us. Dagoth Ur: The pleasure was mine, Joe. Until we meet again. -chatgpt
Dagoth Ur's slightly distant and genuine sounding "Really?" kills me. Like he was just leaning back for a second to do something before being caught off guard by Joe's statement.
Sad part is that there is no one in my life who can appreciate this joke, as my Joe Rogan listening friends are not old RPG playing friends and vice versa
I haven't played Morrowind and haven't listened to a Joe Rogan podcast but I'm 100% sure that this is exactly how these two characters would interact with each other.

I stumbled upon this video, I have absolutely no context for this nor do I have the faintest idea what they are talking about, and I still erupted at the end. Outstanding.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will hit me with more whiplash than Dagoth Ur going "Joe, what the fuck-" I've been laughing my ass off for a good 5 minutes now
Oh yea that Nerevarine dude, I hear he just killed a bunch of cliff racers, fought a ghost and noped out, then joined the morag tong and disappeared. Some prophecy
