You see it often in MMA, guys who are impossible to KO get KO'd the first time when they're a little bit older and then there's a trigger in the brain, and then they get KO'd too many times before they finally retire, like Chuck....
Tony Ferguson an example as well even though it's extremely hard to do him once he gets hit a few times it's like his brain shuts off in a sense now as well as Wanderlei Silva
I think the manager should be aware also of this stuff... To tell volk to take the fight because of the money and not worrying about the injury is just them looking after there pocket. Managers need to be held more responsible for letting fighters take these kinds of fights. Not worth the career loss
I was rooting for Max in the last fight vs Volk and he was schooled on that fight. It would make sense if Ilis didn't have KO power but this guy has been knocking people out left and right. He is being prisoner of the moment.
Love Max so much. Islam and Izzy are the two most sore winners in the UFC right now. Islam blamed the hydration window for barely edging it out over Volk the first time, despite knowing about the hydration window before he even started camp and refused to just *actually* lose a few lbs instead of continually trying to be as heavy as possible, even when fighting a guy coming up from FW. And, of course, Izzy beat that guy one time and now acts like that somehow means he was better all along. Might just be something about having a name that starts with the "Is/Iz" sound. It's just in their blood. First names are even more genetic than last names
We aren't seeing the same Islam then, every time I've seen Islam talk about Volk he always says Volk gave him his biggest challenge and how he's a real warrior. It was an objectively harder cut for him why isn't he allowed to say that, Max also said the same when he moved up to fight porier, how he didn't build up the right weight.
That was for the broken leg, pretty different situation When he first got KO'd by Dustin, he came back like 5-6 months later and you can tell he was a bit gun shy in the boxing exchanges
DA WAY I SEE IT ILIA AND VOLKY THAT'S THERE BEEF FINISH THIS REMATCH GET IT OVER WITH CONTINUE WITH DEFENDING DA FEATHER WEIGHT DIVISION . ILIA YOU DEFINITELY F. KING DA WHOLE FEATHER WEIGHT DIVISION WITH YOUR SORRY ASS DRAMA . GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AN MOVE ON OR SERIOUSLY GET OUT 💯.
I hope this energy stays the same post Ilia Max. I see Ilia winning a decision and hurting Max in some instances similar to the Poirier fight years ago.
This man went up a weight class to the heavy hitters, and dominated the number one contender, WHO changes careers after fights and dominated him. he'll be okay with ilia, that's why he looked so scared after the fight?
His energy has always stayed the same it’s why he’s so loved , max been humble through his wins and losses , it’s our culture here . Enjoy life instead of being a critic.
