When I use to smoke (leaving to the marines so I had to quit), I was literally 100% functional while high. I could legit do anything way better high than sober. Especially working out. Working out high vs sober is a day and night difference for me. Mind/muscle connection off the charts, better blood flow/pump, music sounds better hence helping you get more motivated and going. Weed overall is amazing. Once I'm out of the marines, I most likely will start smoking again. It honestly helped me so much and is just amazing.
Amen brother. Smoking and training/smoking and recovery go hand in hand. As long as you don't make it a bad habit or it gives you negative effects or makes you a zombie. Great stuff in moderation and totally understand why mma fighters use it the way they do. Time to break this negative stigma about it
@@Arkstromater That's a very noble decision. Edit: Hopefully im not stepping out of my bounds when saying this but maybe you could continue to do it and turn it into an explanatory exercise in the relationship like tell them what it is what it does and why its not a good idea for them instead of simply disallowing it, unless they're to young to understand that is
Look for mike Tyson cocaine in google images. Imagine that mike Tyson on dmt and trained on coke and steroids for a month against you for one match. You get 1 week notice but he only hits you hard enough to make sure you continue the match and hurt you so much. He gets paid a billion And you were only allowed to drink energy drinks and untraining by staying still for 6 months. That would be funny to see.
Marijuana and cardio is AMAZING. Pick up basketball games are especially enjoyable. On the flipside, just coolin' and playing video games or reading a great book is equally fun. Wonderful substance.
@Leftist Liberal Supreme Yeah I hear from a lot of people that distance running can be pretty freeing. If you had to pick one, would you go with flower or concentrates for this type of activity?
Ill smoke b4 a workout, gets me more in the zone...bag work, hand mits then calystetics...then take a few hits again then go running...fucking amazing...
I was struggling with mild depression and I thought smoking would make me feel better but I found myself in a bad state of mind while high alotta times so I cut weed out completely. Believe or not Muay Thai training actually made my depression go away and kept my mind off bad thoughts.
Weed is still illegal in many states, yet it doesn't affect your motor skills anywhere close to alcohol. You can skateboard, surf, walk on a 2"x4" stud, 35 ft above the ground with ease (I know lots of Frame carpenters that do it every day) after smoking weed. Once you're used to weed, you can perform very high level tasks (like surfing 15 ft Pipeline) on weed. You would never do that on alcohol.
You can absolutely do all of those things with alcohol. It's called being a functional alcoholic. You wouldn't do it blackout drunk but you also wouldn't do it stoned out of your mind. Both weed and alcohol absolutely impair motor skills. That is just a fact
@@calebgreen711 Alcohol is literally liquid poison, causes gyno in men, skyrockets estrogen and prolactin, is catabolic as fuck. And why would you put that shit in your mouth, other than being a complete slave to society... Cannabis on the other hand, doesn't give you these problems, it numbs pain receptors and increases pain tolerance. Give you a nice deep high vibe. I'd pick smoking over drinking any time of the day, if u care abt yourself
I honestly feel like getting high can be a performance enhancer for certain things. I know I play pool better if I smoke before playing. On the other hand I don't like to get high and work on car. I usually end up leaving out a small part or forget a step and have to do the job over again.
I’ve been playing soccer while being high and let me tell you it gives me an indescribable feeling. I never get nervous and feel like I perform way better! Marijuana and sports should be legal , but it does help me think different outside the box. I do stuff I wouldn’t do while being sober
Even as an experienced stoner I always found it harder to skateboard at the same level as when I was sober (at least when doing tricks I either hadn’t learned yet or on new obstacles) it’s a sport that is extremely technique and timing focused. Although with that being said if I was just doing simple tricks I had done thousands of times on something I was used to I had no issues (IE crooks on a park rail vs trying crooks down a handrail downtown)
Im a kickboxer / MMA practioner and an experienced stoner, depending on how much ive smoked it can either help or hinder me, helping me stay calm or slowing my reaction time
I personally smoke before running or any other workout that doesn't require a lot of thinking and it helps me get into that zone for sure, plus it definitely enhances the runners high. But anything that involves multitasking or complex thought I think you'd be worse at (at least I am with 4+ years of daily use) like almost any drug or mind altering substances there's always trade-offs it's never purely improvements.
Dude, go to the sk8 park super baked, on cookies and joints- (You'll be sooo much better high, than you are sober) *I know this for a fact; don't trust the media.
i trained muay thai for nine years. I smoked weed before and after training. I would have never madre without weed. By the way, it never made me slower but more focused and inspired. Joe is ok but the other guy is a bit ignorant or bias.
When I played paintball and I first started I didn't smoke while playing, I got into speed ball and x ball with super fast pace. One day after practice we smoked and decided to go back out to play. After that I smoked before all games and could focus more on the game.
When I use to train in kyokushin I was always high af at the dojo. I would literally stink up the place cuz of hotboxing before practice but damn I would always be more focused and better was having just more fun
karl jonson tests can't show if you were high, they only show metabolites (byproducts of digestion of the substance). You can't tell if or when someone was high
First time I ever smoked, I took ONE puff of legal government weed. And for the first 5 minutes I felt nothing. Then all of a sudden I didn’t remember the last 5 minutes. I started to panic and felt like I was literally going to die/pass out. (I smoked at my job). And I smoked with a guy that smokes a lot. He told me this « paranoia » feeling is gonna go away after like 10 minutes and to just relax and drink water. 1 hour goes by and it was getting worse and worse. I’m sure the weed had passed already but it was all in my head at this point. Felt like I was in a dream. Pinching the other guy to see if he was real or not lol. And now I never ever wanna try that shit again. Way to scared to experience that feeling again.
Tried recently to lift weights while high - damn the pain threshold is pushed through the roof, could focus on each movement and individual muscle so much more!!
Well it won't make you better at doing something you don't want to do... You gotta want to do the thing you're doing to get the beneficial effects. Example: Trying to do Homework for a shit Class you don't want to be-in is torture and hard too do high, Sitting at home and on your computer and getting curious about the difference between: Supply-side & Keynesian Economics. (Next thing you know, you're three lectures in and half way through Basic Economic by Thomas Sowell) *Start thinking about why Communism is so appealing and your Reading the Communist Manifesto, now I can talk shit about Marxist-theory or Advocate for it, but I wouldn't advocate for-it, it's trash! -Not a recommended read, the whole book is about violent revolution and land expropriation without compensation. *The point is- I would of never read anything sober, but reading what I want too read while high is a great afternoon.
Well, certain Sativa strains yeah. I play drums on it and I'm quicker. Well not necessarily quicker per se, but I'm more intuned with my body, like I feel like I have more control of every cell in my body, hence I can be quicker. I damn well know that makes no sense to some of ya'll, but shit makes sense ta me.
@@mrsanchez3036 that might be the worst advice. I say rephrase that. Don't try risky things while you're high. But if it's something like playing an instrument, go for it.
2:38 Rogan! I tell my Kru over at Coban's Muay Thai in NYC, that i come to do striking drills/sparring during open mat after ive lit up in my car. Glad im not the only one that feels like it helps me.
All my best matches and tournaments wrestling in high school where when I was lightly stoned it just got me in a zone where I wasn’t nervous and I could just snap in instantly
Marijuana is always going to be a drug that affects people differently. I manage a very busy kitchen at a restaurant and feel that if I use small amounts I'm able to focus a lot better, my train of thought is more on point, and I find multitasking to be more efficient. For me at least, maybe because I use responsible amounts and don't get BAKED because then things fall apart. Then there's those people that cannot do simple tasks under any sort of amount of Marijuana consumption, so like I said Marijuana will affect people differently and not everyone can be a everyday user and be able to function correctly and coherently.
I'm a combat sports athlete. I smoke weed occasionally and never smoke before I train. I know I have the lack of fear/mental strength to stay calm in high stress sober. But I almost always use CBD oil for recovery along with fruit and vegetable smoothies. I only got one body and I wanna take care of it!
Simple to Complex tasks, I'd keep in the territory of hybrid indica dominant to indica. Sativa used in its best potentials can be accomplished by experienced stoners, as in regular or daily use, for many years to decades. The stuff I can do on sativas (70% sat dominant and higher), in terms of complexity, creativity and advanced pre frontal cortex participation, is unprecedented
I actually have to hear that reaction time study bs every year at work during our annual "drugs in the workplace" meeting. Same lady every year and same story. Pretty much they got a bunch of top percentile fighter pilots, got them high and there scores sunk. Supposedly the effects lasted longer then they were actually high for like they were tested again next day or something and still scored lower than usual. Take that with a grain of salt. I know I do.
My mate has chronic orthopaedic issues and a severe brain injury which incapacitates him in so many ways. Smoking weed means he can eat, sleep, walk, exercise, speak normally, doesn't feel nauseous and so on. When high, know one even suspects he any injuries. The benefits are huge and I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. 👍🏼
Joe is kinda hinting at the fact that he wouldn't care if the pilot flying his plane was high. Dude, I love smoking weed too but can you acknowledge the fact that weed isn't the most perfect substance known to man?
Enter User Name Here. Nice yea riding a bike is safer now with these dum laws but the enjoyment is just on another level weed makes everything more enjoyable
@@Beatle196 nah man. My knees used to hurt when I would ride my bike to work. I started smoking before my ride and it totally stopped the pain and I could peddle faster.
I'm better when playing football while high. I don't get tunnel vision when in tight spaces or through on goal. It allows my mind to be clear in situations that would usually be harder to take advantage of because of the stress. Although if I smoke rather than vape my stamina goes to shit.
Yeah 🙄 agree to disagree...I believe the reaction time thing is not true because....if you've practiced something so intensely that you can do it in your sleep..then what?
@@_Nibi Only in the way an Obese person might be dependent on Cheese Burgers. Marijuana is a Non-addictive Substance with No-withdrawal Side-effects- literally the easiest thing to take breaks from if needed, smoking anything isn't ideal. (That's why Rogan and his pales take a break from it every October, give their lungs a break) -The THC stays in your system for up to a month and during that time the substance has a natural way of weaning you off. *I really don't think anyone who isn't prone to addiction could ever get addicted too weed, that's just FAKE NEWS!!! (They're is a-lot of Fake News in regards to Marijuana, some people are still trying to say it's an impairment) -It's a Performance Enhancement Supplement;
@@hellfrost333 from personal experience thats not true because I'm an addict for weed I feel like shit when i don't have it and i have actual effects like feeling cold depressed unable to focus and constant thinking about weed. The amount of anxiety from quitting weed is unreal im stuck. Saying weed is non addictive is the biggest bullshit ever its just like nicotine i fiend for weed when i get stressed same as i do for my vape
@@alexisleclerc595 I'm gonna say it's less addictive than water, because I can live without-it, but with the Stress, Depression, Anxiety, Pain, and Monotony of everyday life in a stream of endless time, Day-in & Day-out, it really helps, I much prefer to have-it...It's more or less just as addictive as a morning coffee or evening brew as you're day is just gonna be better with-it than with-out-it....If that make sense. Personally the weed alleviates those things-
I'm like a 17 year old girl with an unhealthy crush when it comes to Joe Rogan. Sometimes he says something that drives me into a fucking rage!!!! And then he says something like this, and I come craaaaaawwling back.
Vaped a full pack of bud in your chamber THC (no cbd), go to football (soccer) training and start running and passing the ball. First 10 minutes you'll have a bad coordination, once that peak starts thats when it becomes a performance drug. I can see why they dont want you using it on the day of your fight or game. Helps heaps with endurance and pain.
I'm not a fan of sitting around and smoking marijuana (paranoia) but I find it is good for mountain biking or snowboarding. You can see and feel the lines in the trail better than without. In social situations I get so much anxiety on marijuana. I really don't like smoking it anymore. Don't even like it in the house.
Ah...I hear Lewis Hamilton smokes a blunt before each race as he heard Joe's reaction timing sped up in Jujitsu. And that's what won him his title this year.
The deal is it really helps to keep you level when you're on all these steroids... like, you never know, you stop smoking for a couple days, the mailman knocks on the door- BOOM!... you chewed his kneecaps right off! The judge is only going to accept "I'm an MMA fighter" a couple of times.
Give someone bong rips who never smokes weed and their going to lose their shit. Of course they won’t react fast. Give someone a couple shots who never drinks and see what happens 😂
