Was in the army with Devon. Competed against him in military Ironman competitions up here in Canada. He's an all around freak athlete. Yet the sweetest guy
There’s a video on RU-vid of Devon and you guys doing one of the crazy running with a loaded pack, then paddling a canoe and a portage race. And it was a long race - looked pretty brutal.
@@jasonwebb6484 ya. So it's our annual military Ironman. U wear your regimental t-shirt. We were Royal canadian Regiment. (Infantry)...combat pants and boots. First leg is 36km run with a 42lb rucksack...then u get to your canoe that u taped the paddles ito the day before....u pick that up with ruck on and run 5kms....then put canoe into water and put ruck in and paddle 7kms....than get out and put ruck back on and run last 14kms. She was a bitch.
Besides the fact that Joe didn't know Devons name....like I thought for sure if by some chance he avoided finding out about Devon for this many years he would have sure known him by the mountain match but wt
Devon Larratt is one of the best arm wrestlers in the world and he is also a war veteran. Devon has a 20-year career in the Canadian military and over 15 years as a special forces soldier. He was in the war in Bosnia. He was in the Iraq war and he was in the Afghanistan war. He was 7 trips in Afghanistan where he was also shot and wounded. After recovering from being shot, he returned to the battlefield.
Devon is a Canadian military special forces specialist. The man is hard and brave . As a Canadian im proud as hell of him. Makes us all very proud. And a hell of a family man
You are proud of him just because you are from the same country? Damn people are stupid🤦♂️. So what if you are from the same country? So auddently he "belongs" to you?🤦♂️
@@bretjohn3716are u an id1ot? He said as a canadian he is proud of him BECAUSE he is a special force guy, family man and hard and brave. Learn how to read before commenting
@@thedigitalemotion Devon Larrat is Runner up for GOAT of armwrestling and I'm excited for our sport because it's getting the exposure it deserves. If you wanna join just ask don't gotta try to be a grown bully 💪🏽😅🎩🔥 Download the ARMBET App and join a local team near you💪🏽💪🏽🙏🏽
@@thedigitalemotion Dude you're everywhere where Devon is, might be an obsession. Just saw you talking something about John Brzenk when someone said something about Devon being the most important person in AW :D You have issues.
JOE!!!!! Hear us!!! Get Devon on your show! He's incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, and nuanced. Devon was career military in Canada, a special forces veteran, and one of the top 5-10 armwrestlers to ever do it. He MUST get on Joe's show.
@@bustercherry8734 So many differing opinions on Devon and where he stands all time. He isn't a tourney puller so he doesn't have any of the prestigious titles. The elbow surgeries really derailed his career and actually he is just now hitting his prime again. I think top 5 all time is very hard to argue against
@@LiberalsReadmyBio enlighten me. Not a tourney puller? Doesn't hold prestigious titles? He's the best in the west. Is at least top 3. Actually, he is probably #2 of all time. Who would be #2 if not him.
EASILY top 3 if not 2 if you take everything into account. Left and right, stamina, master tactician and when he's healthy, basically just a human hydraulic press. No better ambassador for the sport either. Yes Joe, I'm surprised you haven't run across him and you do need to get him on the show.
I really would love to see Joe have Devon on his show. He is such an interesting person. Imagine the stories he can tell about his time in Canada special ops
Bring him to your show Joe. Aside from the arm wrestling, he served 16 years as a JTF2 operator. Meaning he was a Tier 1 badass for the Canadian special forces. Just imagine the stories he can tell from both his time as an operator and then his transition to the arm wrestling.
I'm a huge fan of mma and to see Joe finally knowing who devon is is great for the arm wrestling community. I'm also a fan of arm wrestling for a couple of years now, I know the names of the top dogs rn but I guess I'm still a casual for the fanatics. Anyway, it's a very underrated sport, they work hard for it and I'm glad the recognition is coming up.
@@cainzking There is a sport called Aussie rules or Australian football. They tried to spread it to the world, so we can become a world champions by the time everyone else figure out how to play it. After failure, the bunch of expats, in Singapore or Honolulu, can't remember, started a club and one day they played an international game against some Aussie team. You're as pathetic as them and bit more, as Aussie rule is kind of sport, but WAL is just a show, almost as bad as WWW.
Devon was also in JTF2, Canada’s most elite special operations unit. Literally their equivalent of US Army CAG (Delta Force). Imagine a jacked 6’6 tier 1 operator kicking down your door in the middle of the night…followed by a whole troop of commandos just as dangerous.
@@jtoker9758 Considering they regularly and seamlessly work right alongside the British SAS and US Delta Force I'd say there just as frightening as any special operations unit on Earth
@@jtoker9758 US JSOC called them their personal boogeymen in Afghanistan. They are the only foreign SF unit to be placed into the US JSOC Tier 1 ranking. They took out majority of the deck of cards and broke the distance record for a sniper kill 2 times in a row, all while never losing a single operator in combat. These guys are beyond comprehension. Hell, half the Geneva conventions were written to basically say "No Canada, you can't do that, that's not fair".
... aside from being a super cool guy (from everything I've watched on him) and an amazing arm wrestling champion, he was one of Canada's elite soldiers who served with our JTF-2 unit (tier 1)
So awesome to see a regularly tuned in channel talk about a regularly tuned in channel. If Devon went on Joe's show to discuss arm wrestling then he'd inspire everyone and their moms to arm wrestle with their legendary conversation.
Devon is a proper ambassador of what Canada is all about. A talented, successful, and very hardworking champion, yet humble and kind and intelligent like there's no tomorrow. Long live Devon Larratt!! :)
Devon featuring on multiple youtube channels plus Alex Toproll's channel have made great strides for armwrestling. Devon is really good at expressing how he's thinking about how matches progress and his different types of training regimes, it's definitely a mind game too.
@@thedigitalemotion he's played a very pivotal role in bringing new people to the sport, more than anyone else ever has. So in that respect he certainly is.
@@dqreps Michael Todd arguably has brought more people to the sport, with his level of reach in the past. Devon is making some traction now, but still got some way to go
You have no apologies to make for showing real bravery and dedication Devon. I only ever got interested in the sport because of you! You faced Levan, you faced The Mountain, you're not afraid to take a challenge. You're a real inspirer my fellow Canadian. Hoping to one day meet you randomly across Canada hahah. Keep being the authentic you. You'll always be the face of Armwrestling to me.
I've been following Devon for a little while but never looked into his Canadian background. Now reading in the comments that he was part of our JTF2 unit is just incredible! And all those deployments...man he must have tons of stories..
Gotta make it happen....youd love having him on your show. Not a big dummy...smart..intelligent spec ops military guy from Ottawa. While this protest was going on in Ottawa he had Arm Wrestling tables out everywhere.
Joe explained exactly why Devon would be a perfect candidate for the show. It woulda been perfect to have him on before the levan match but still, make it happen 🔥
Who is Dennis Zeplenkov ? I only know Denis Cyplenkov. If you meant him then i think you need to kinda read the name before writing it somewhere as a reference.
When The Mountain and Eddie Hall, 2 strongmen were going to box each other, and Eddie got injured. Devin Larratt stepped in and said he would fight The Mountain and had only about 6 weeks to train. He got his bell rung in the 1st round, but The Mountain is a huge man and was training for awhile.
I have been a huge fan of MMA for over 15 years and over the past year have been obsessed with armwrestling. Joe you would love the sport. Devon is a super cool guy and is a legend in North America for armwrestling. You need to get him on your show. Very articulate and has some great stories. A bad ass that you would love to talk too.
We need an episode of JRE with him after his rematch with Levan. I mean, all the military experience, ketamine therapy, mind set, combat sports and arm wrestling. Its the perfect guest! Come on!
It's about time you acknowledge Devon! He's a four-time super heavyweight arm wrestling champion both right and left-handed. He's the rowdy Roddy Piper of arm wrestling. He's arm wrestled Eddie Hall and Thor and played with them like little b******!
I know ex JTF2 guys that went on missions with Devon, a few years ago I sent an email to Joe Rogans people saying Devon should be on the podcast because he was into Judo as well as combat sports etc, Joe's into all that stuff. My sensai in Ottawa taught three Priministers Judo; ex JTF2 guys are pretty close with the PM so it got me thinking, it's all connected, lots of synchronicity out there.
I've been arm wrestling for two years. Devon's videos got me started. I also trained with Erik Paulson in Shoot wrestling, Catch wrestling and BJJ thirty years ago and hes a buddy of Josh Barnett's. Erik would be a great interview. He's a funny guy as well as boatloads of knowledge experience and stories to tell.
You gotta hand Larratt on the show, he's the nurse Entertaining arm wrestler of all time. And it's about to take on Mt. Everest, in Levan the Georgian Hulk, dude is 420 pounds. And curls 300 lbs, and Devon bout to put it on him. BTW he was Canadian Equivalent to the Navy Seals.
Had the pleasure to meet him in Toronto, he's got literal cinder blocks for hands. Incredibly nice, warm reception when I approached him and genuinely a nice guy. Classic Canadian homeboy.
I mean I want to say it's kind of crazy that Rogan doesn't know who he is but then again many do not. I guess it's because I've been following Devon and arm wrestling for 20+ years.Larratt would be absolutely perfect for Rogan's podcast.
I really hope he’ll have him on the show one day. And then they can expand more about the arm wrestling community to new people. It would be awesome 💪🏽
I never liked arm wrestling... but after watching Devon's highlights I got into it. He's funny as hell, and one of the most interesting people on earth. Devon goes into great detail about the surprisingly complex sport of armwrestling. He's also one of the best internet trolls and trash talkers.
Devon being on lex channel was just a warm-up for the Joe Rogan show. Devon has some crazy military stories to when he was in Afghanistan. He was on the special forces for Canada
and props to Joe for knowing Devon's brother Shannon (RIP) a true legend and inspiration in the body mod world, but also an amazing inventor, artist, and deep thinker.
Pulled with Devon and am friends with him. The guy is an absolute machine and a freak athlete yet veer smart. Good to see our sport is being recognized like this.
