Exactly, killian has never shown up for any of the 200+ races so Courtney so far is the best. This guy seems a little off for saying killian is the best even though hes never ran anything half as long as the moab 240.
@@trent210 NGL as a general rule anyone who calls women "females" always throws up at least a little red flag in my mind. Not saying that's a certainty but it definitely raises an eyebrow
Mark Maylam there was nothing sarcastic about the supposed drone comment and I took issue in it for not watching the whole video, because evidently the camera in those clips was man-held which made the original comment funny in the first place. You’re so talented and smart to find random sarcasm where there isn’t one tho! See the difference? Not trying to come off as salty btw, just quarantine-bored; don’t mind me
It's easy, run until you want to puke every single day of your life until you lose all of your muscle and bone density. Then when you weigh 75 lbs you can run all day unless the breeze blows you away like tissue paper in the wind.
@@scottwall8419 The Killian huy has insane cardio and climbs the biggest mountain in the world in record time w/o oxygen and you say he wouldn't do well in a 200 mile running race? That kind of thinking comes from someone who has never done either running or climbing.
@@mos4434 nah , break up the podcast entirely into clips without cutting parts out and then put them all into a playlist in order would be better. easy and convenient to skip topics you dont like then too
Whatever Courtney is a badass and this guy just wasn't gonna say it no matter what. He has his nose so far up Kilians behind....granted that guy is an amazing athlete but I'm sorry her closest competitor was 22 miles behind and he is a good runner also. I realize that 8 out of 10 maybe the dude is gonna win but when she runs the MOAB240 and wins by over 8 hours just give her the credit....not to mention she is always smiling even when she is dying inside. She laughs and jumps in the air kicking her heels together. She has the best attitude and the France dude I can never remember his name he is funny too. Courtney is my girl.
Joe needs to interview Kilian Jornet. He is a fascinating guy who speaks like 5 or 6 languages, has written a book, and is very philosophical. Could be a great interview.
This is a sport that amazes me but I will never understand what makes someone decide they want to run 100+ miles. Humans are designed to be ultra endurance runners but they take it to a serious extreme
You answered your own question: "Humans are designed to be ultra endurance runners". And I agree with elcant. You start with a smaller challenge that you think is your "limit". You realize it's not, so you try something bigger. What first seems "extreme" later seems like a warm up for the bigger race.
I love listening to people talking about running ultras....until you do it, you have no idea the human potential and what you can do....and who you are at your core. It changed me as a human.
@vegeta420z yeah same here lmao. i thought for sure it would be the son of Björn and Ragnheiður, who gave birth to the boy in Reykjavik, Manitoba Iceland on 26th of November, 1988. he who is the father of Theresa Líf, conceived during a relationship with Andrea Sif Jónsdóttir whom he met at a gym. i thought it would be about the Icelandic Mountain Vodka co-founder, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson too.
What he is doing in the video is not that hard. A lot of experience mountaineers could do it. Not hating or anything, but this video is just a preview of what the challenges of these races can really be.
Reading one of the books Kilian helped co-author ("Training for the Uphill Athlete") and it is exceptional! One of the top 5 books I've read on running, and I've read a LOT of them. Was so exciting to hear him shouted out and know that I'm studying with a world-class master
My uncle chuck just retired from Ultra marathons at the age of 78 lol he has over 100 marathons and ultras under his belt I believe he has finished 12 100 milers and many many 50 milers .. 78 and would run 15 miles every morning and a on sundays he would run 25-30 miles leading up to an ultra ...
That fellow running down the mountain with a gopro in his hand is phenomenal at what he does. We are really starting to see some superhuman feats happening on a somewhat regular basis now. Interesting times.
This dude sounds sexist. Courtney is not just one of best women ultra runners and athletes, she is one of THE best ultra running athletes. She did win against many elite men ultra runners.
Good one! I ran the vertical km in Chamonix about 5 years ago, remembering how Killian over took me 15 min in , he was about 10 places behind me at the gate (runners leave the gate every minute to stave roadblocks). Kilian won that race easy clocking in about 30 somthing minutes my time for refranance was 54 min which is just about the course avrage any one can sign up.
@xNrY_ BoSS those videos where they climb things look worse than when u actually climb stuff too. These are still crazy insane impressive things these people are doing don't get me wrong
He has a very hard time making eye contact. Makes me feel like this guy has been through some serious stuff or is going through some stuff now. Stay strong brother.
Killian Jornet is amazing, he is the Goat, but he's done much crazier stuff than this, I can't watch some of the stuff when he's basically speed climbing with no ropes, it's worth noting as a mountain runner myself that Go-Pro's make ridges like that look much stepper than they are in real life, the wide angle lens and looking down distorts the view a lot.
Yes, She is. A lot of people don't realize that the gender gap all but disappears over the 100 mile mark, and the longer the distance, the better women perform. Sadly, some guys out there discredit wins by women, saying they must be only because "so and so" didn't race that day. That's not how sports works... a superbowl win isn't worthless because a star player on the other team had the flu.
@@Kelly_Benshe’s one of the best for sure but at the same time you can’t discredit the male athletes, who have the top three fastest times at Moab 240.
Ok, Eddie Bravo. We get it, everything is fake. Space, the stars, people running, everything. It’s all faked by the government! You, Eddie, and Alex Jones should all hang out, you’d see eye to eye on a lot of things.
