As a Korean-American I hope for the day the North and South reunify and Korea will be whole again. My father died never witnessing this, my hope is to be a witness for him before I die.
I hope you get to see the day. Korea deserves this unification. They deserve happiness and I hope America and China and the people of Korea can come together and save those poor souls trapped in North Korea.
It's so great to see the respect Joe Rogan has for some of his guests his questions are exactly what needs to be asked and he is so genuinely curious it makes the podcast something worth viewing.
"We as americans are less human if we let people like this." Does that include Madeleine Albright saying 500,000 dead Iraqi Children by starvation was "worth it"?
yeah giving them exactly what they want and gaining nothing is the way to go instead. Can tell a trumpster as soon as they speak because they will be saying something shortsighted and ignorant.
Okay, i can see we disagree over this, but my point is just that to break a deadlock, you have to do something unusual. Get the dialogue going. Thats playing the long game.

@Chris Valin didn't actually try? Come on, that's ridiculous. I don't even like the guy but it's obvious he did. There was progress and dialogue is always better than nothing. It's your national xenophobia that sticks 100% to the mantra of our way or the highway that makes it impossible for North Korea to be able to deal with you, not just trump. What do YOU propose and with what goal?
Two things here; 1) the U.S.A. does not invade countries that have nukes 2) North Korea has people pulling plows and little machinery, they are absolutely no threat to American people.
in a grown-up world, its irrelevant if they pose any kind of threat, the only thing that matters is whether or not invading them servers any geopolitical purpose
North korea itself no. But if the North would launch a nuke on the South. What do you think is going to happen? The US feels obligated to defend its ally, the South. And China feels obligated to defend its ally, the North. I.e. the real threat would be an escalated war between the US and China.
@@L1b3rta no way china would back up NK if they were the aggressor. Maybe if it was troops on grounds invasion but a nuke? They would get condemned from every nation in the world and NK knows that
Shoop that scenario is why the founding fathers preached about not entangling the U.S. in pacts or alliances that could drag us into war. Similarly to How World War 1 started... we shouldn’t have 130+ military bases across the globe, policing their boarders, their streets, and rebuilding their infrastructure after wars. This entire foreign policy has been a scam for a century.
I've heard media pundits pointing out that Muammar Al Gathafi and Saddam Hussein basically ran dictatorships and were overthrown. Kim Jong-un saw the writing on the wall, knew he could be next and decided he likes things the way they are and will do anything to maintain the status quo, including the use of nuclear weapons.
Yep, you do t have to whitewash over the horrible crimes and be buddy buddy like Trump tried to do, but you should always be willing to engage in dialect
And that is exactly why you know nothing about geopolitics. NK wanted facetime and knew they were never going to give up shit to get it. Trump fell right for it. You don't allow talks unless you are certain to gain something. What did you gain? Compared to Kim telling his people, he is strong enough to get a stage with the Americans, to be respected by his people, which continues the mind control.
I love how North Korea has American war trophies (tanks, planes, etc.) to show their "triumph" over America in the civil war. Yet are taking geopolitical advice from an American 😂🤣
That is actually why they are very smart. They can easily hide the fact that it was an American or other countries tech/intelligence, making them look better and instilling more mind control.
"how was it in North Korea" "It was amazing, I witness such a serious degree of poverty that people were laboring in fields because they can't afford machinery to improve standard of living and are starving so they eat the live stock" -_-
Gxsmxsk76 I believe what he was getting at, while very poorly stated I might add. Is that the starvation was so bad that they had to eat the livestock who were utilized to assist with farming to the point their agricultural practices regressed even further.
Gxsmxsk76 He could be a wacko vegan though. They are everywhere nowadays. It’s funny to me though as vegetarianism was practiced culturally and religiously for quite some time now but even back then they understood that being vegan isn’t a viable long term option. While there is evidence of vegans being healthier than the average person in North America, it is most likely due to our average unhealthy, gluttonous eating habits. Sure cutting out red meat and eggs may lower cholesterol, there’s certain nutrients that can only be found in animals/animal byproducts. They may be healthier for the first 10 years but mark my words within the next few decades we will see the drastic damage caused by long term vegan practice proving it to be a non viable lifestyle choice.

Hi Joe, you should interview Alejandro Cao de benos, he represents North Korea officially, the only foreigner of the regime. He is always open to defend it and he believes what he says. Interesting chap.
So..."we should have met the North Koreans in the last 30 years'" but "the meeting should only occur if they do this ,that and this"...Thereby ensuring a meeting never takes place, and 30 years from now, we would be in an even terrible space. Unless you're useless partisan, there was no 'real' negatives to Trump meeting Kim. Sure it legitimizes Kim in a certain way, but the prospect, no matter how unlikely it was of achieving something useful - in regards to nuclear weapons - was far more important than any soft power kim might be able to exert as a result of the meeting. Have people forgotten about the false Hawaiian Missile alert; how people were hiding in sewers and videos of others resigned to the fact that the were about to die; and watching them saying their good-byes to their families?
They have the ballistic capabilities to hit Hawaii in 18-20 minutes. Also, it has been widely reported since 2017 after several of their test that they could hit continental America; as far Washington DC. Where've you been? Now, whether they are stupid enough to do that is a different question.

He really is being optimistic. When the GDR and FDR reunified. The East Germans, yes were behind West Germany in many aspects. But having lived in the former GDR and having been to the DPRK a number of times since 2002. The North Koreans are even decades behind what the east Germans were in the 1980s. While its also true that China and the DPRK are allies. Today the Chinese leadership see the North Koreans as more of a problem than anything else. I remember a few years ago meeting a retired official in Beijing who said North Korea makes China look like a free and democratic state.
