That last descending lick Satch pulls off at the end of the solo on Why on the Extremist is one of the sickest guitar lines ever invented. Love that song
I love you man, Why is my favorite Joe song ever and I've only seen him perform it once on a different less quality video...this awesome, great quality too.
Saw Joe in Dallas for G3. Started with Kenny Wayne Shepard (Earth), then Steve Vai (sky), then Joe (GALACTIC)...he even looked like an alien with those fly sunglasses and silver spandex...oh my GOD what a show. Think I was one of the only five females there...loved every f**kin minute....nothing better than genius made manifest...
@lookslikeyouhadenuff I noticed how much deeper this album was and how much more emotion was put into it than the last one. And he seemed to put out the same amount of emotion when he play those songs live.

Behind him is a rack with two identical Digitech harmonisers (one as backup) from 1988, playing an Em chord voicing that he uses on this one song only.
does anyone have an idea on what settings he uses for that harmonizer...? im pretty noob in it and want to try it out at home for myself. thanks for any help!
@JamesTiberiusKirk Im saw a vid of him talking about the harmonizer, a b2 or something, apparently it harmonizes specifically in the key h is playing, so only notes in that scale, so i doubt you could get it exact without something that does the same, maybe if you mega tweaked a POG
@MagneticMetallica81 I as well think most if not all of satchs songs sound better live usually, not too many artists out there who can say that. This was an awesome tour glad I got to see it and the new album rocks I think, way better than the last one.
@chris07882 I think Ive seen him play why one time, and never seen him play the crush of love. I've seen him 6 times I think, but Im sure its hard to please everyone when you have like 150 great songs...
@TheLydianRocks nah, POGs only do the octaves, he uses a rack effect for his harmonising, actually you can see them on his cab furthest to the left if you look hard enough
@starkiller420nyl Joe rarely plays "Crushing Day" live (although there's a rare Pro-Shot up here) - he considers it a "cursed song" live as it has his most pre-planned solo and he blows it much more often than he nails it, and also that it's very boring for the rhythm section to play.
@MagneticMetallica81 to each their own man, to be honest this was the best tour Ive ever seen him on, I like the way this album has a live feel just like super colossal. and yeah the last cd kinda sucked in my opinion but again to each their own.
@lookslikeyouhadenuff I like the last one but this album is way better. Took me some time to get used to it but I guess just because theres not an insane solo in every song, that doesn't make the album bad.
Crush of love keeps asking why, this one tries to find an explanation but even the professor cannot validate logical reasoning then he goes back to it = specifically in that order. the slick professor...yes i get this one musical genius
With his right hand he is muting the bottom strings and left he is hitting random hammer-on notes, which just happens to work because you expect chromaticism when listening to Satch's music. Happy? :o)
is fake too, if you ever get to see them near the stage you will see that the cabs and heads are dommy amps, every body does it, same is zakk wylde, the stacks of marshalls he has there is only 2 4x12 cabs that are real the rest are empty, I saw that at last ozzfest, if you see zakk now days he always uses the 2 cabs.
