F you talking about. You just wanted to be heard I guess... Calling him underrated. F is wrong with you boy? You know how many hits over misses he got? Yeah sit your ass down.
22 years later and this song is still one of my favorites from him! Him and Mystikal made a deadly duo. Joe is so underrated. I miss '90s and early 2000's R&B!!
R&B back then was the absolute best! The Weekend got it on lock now though. Late 90's and early 2000's was when I was riding around bumping this shit. Late teens and early 20's. God I feel old lol! Seems like yesterday. 90's and 2000's had the best music hands down! We had 2Pac, Biggie, Nas, DMX, Three 6 Mafia, all at their prime. Eminem and 50 just started. The new generation is so deprived of the best era of music.
Mystikal's verse is HILARIOUS! 😂 So many great lines and the last line was IT! Ha ha ha. I forgot about this song, then I forgot Mystikal was on it, then I forgot how hilarious he was. I have re-watched it too many times just now.
@@4primus okay, replies to my RU-vid comments pop up on my screen but I don't see the whole thing. So all I saw was "quit your lyin heifer" so before I clicked on it I was trying to think which comment I made that could have someone so upset. LOL Context is important. :)
Those of us born in the 80s are lucky to be born in the decade we were born. Our parents would play 60s and 70s music, our older siblings would listen to all the music in the 80s. In the 90s we were in our teens and listened to gangster rap, hip hop, new Jack swing and dance music. The 2000’s we had these club bangers. All these decades I pointed out has influenced us, we are the last generation to know and have good music.
@@user-um5fm2ev7k idk I think there are many. The majority of r&b singers back in the day had amazing, soulful, strong vocals, just crazy amounts of talent. Not sure if the same can be said for today, but the 90s & before, I’d say there are MANY who had some beautiful voices.
Ah, Mystikal and his way too intense ol' self. Coming outta nowhere screaming at the woman in both the song and the movie. Gotta love it. Things were so much more fun in the early 00s.
I remember Mystikal saying that he raps like that because his baby sister was murdered whenever they were younger and that was his way of letting all of his anger out. He kills every song though, I call him the James Brown of Rap💯🔥🔥🔥
Virgil George She was his older sister, she was like 4 years older than him,she was killed by the famous singer Aaron Neville's nephew whom she was dating. She sang in a song with Mystikal called "not that nigga",she sang pretty good, check it out.
Mystikal was on fire during this late 2000/early 2001 period. It's really a shame to see what's going on with him now. Joe was always hella underrated for how good his music usually was.
I’m glad my mama had taste in music! We use to listen to this together. When Mystikal said “my bad Joe” we use to look at each other tapping elbows while she was driving. 😂😂 I love Joe. He was so smooth!
This is definitely one the best best R&B and Rap duets ever. Joe was on fire at this time and him and Mystikal are definitely legends. One thing I loved about Joe is that he didn't mind collaborating to make a hit. Stutter remix, Case - Faded Pictures, No Guarantees - Chico Debarge.
I randomly remembered this song and searched for it. The joy in my heart when I saw Mystikal and knew that I was in for some crazy shout talking rap was somewhat overwhelming.
I heard the beat of the original song that this samples from (Pharcyde?) and was like "wait, what is the name of that song that sampled this that was hella good?" Then I I went through all the lyrics of this version of the song in my head (I remembered most of them) until I got to the chorus, and was like "stutter!" Then I pulled up that song and jammed to it a few times in my car. Good times lol
Love that an R and B artist and a Rapper can get on this song and kill it. You can understand also what both artist are saying in the song. Love the message in this song. Mystical was back. Joe is a very soulful artist.
I wouldn't want to be born in any different life. If you were born at a time to enjoy this music.. you're blessed. I was a kid but my mom and dad where playing these songs or you would hear actual movie soundtracks like this being in Double Take. Quality videos, beat production, lyricism and the artists as a whole took their time with their craft. This will always be a classic. Respect Joe & Mystikal for this timeless vibe
Byrd Griffin we ain’t got no choice but to go back to our childhood / teenage years for music because nowadays at least in my opinion ain’t nothing worth really listening to.
This song is straight fire!! Late 90's-early 2000's hip hop and r&b in general is straight fire, especially collaboration songs like this one. I think this is because hip hop evolved beyond east and west coast, and we got to see styles from a variety of parts of the , country. Also, more personally, when this song came out, I was in my early 20's fresh out of college, living in Miami, on my own for the first time in my life, 3,000 miles away from family. I was going through a lot of turmoil during this time, and trying to find my place in the world. I listened to this song and a lot of other hip hop songs like this one to help me cope. These songs gave me a lot of strength and motivation to work through the things I was struggling with, so I will always have a soft corner for the hip hop and r&b during this time period. Needless to say, today's hip hop is absolute dogshit in comparison!!
You made a pretty good speech there. You didn't have to spoil it with the last sentence. Today's music is great for today's time. it's 2022, cars drive demselves. But thats not crazy to u. Just because you don't understand something doesn't make it trash. Remember you said music evolved between east coast and west coast and greater songs were made. The songs in this generation fits the advancement, and it is also changing the world whether we like it or not. I was about 7 wen this song came out, i heard it 2 to 3 years later. I grew up listening to this great music you are talking about, the artists of today grew up listening too. So what do you think changed?? Can you explain it, or you are just not interesting in the propagation of the culture anymore. Now I am 29, and I say Lil baby is making 2pac proud. Even then there were trashy artist, but music was not global then. Now everyone has a voice, and it's a good thing. Respect🙌
You're right rammemy, but I had to check out Lil Baby as a recommendation from another comment to see if I am missing something. Unfortunately dude just fits the mold of every other modern rapper. Unoriginally putting "Lil" AND "baby" in his name? Check. Mumbled pronunciation? Check. Electronic voice effect? Check. Mediocre lyrics? Check. Nice slow beats for smoking weed to, but lacking any kind of hype or soul to make you wanna dance? Check. It's not really the artists' fault though, it's just the industry rewards whoever sounds similar. Technically everyone would have a voice were it not for the algorithm/big tech strangling a lot of talented people. Hell, it's gotten so bad even rock music is basically non-existent because everything has to sound like modern cookie-cutter hip hop. That's not to say there aren't some good songs but you usually have to search for yourself to find them whereas most people just wait for music to be handed to them. Even mainstream modern movies/shows are suffering too where everything has to be about feminism/female empowerment or gay/trans nonsense. We truly are in an entertainment dark age.
@@maskedbadass6802 🙌🙌 You get it. Also in the past (before RU-vid), industry execs who knew music decided what to release. They were the gatekeepers. And consumers with money and refined taste spent the most on music, so they also kept trash music out. But nowadays it is easy to publish music online (no gatekeeper). And instead of older people with money being a core audience that determined trends, it is almost entirely young people with time on their hands to stream who determine the trends. Attention is the new currency, and they have more of it. So these two factors, I believe, are also why the quality of mainstream music has gotten so awful in the last decade.
@adamsmayy_ big difference now is that today's "top" hip hop is fully owned and controlled by those wishing to influence the youth. Very few are not corrupted. And many that wouldn't sell their soul, are dead. Nipsey as a quick mention. Brent Faiyaz is holding down R&B. Weeknd sold us out. Just look tho, what people's own most record label's. And NBA and NFL teams. Wait until we see what this generation will be like 15 years from now.
This is how u combine rap and r&b..i remember i was 15 when this remix hit and hearing Mystikal was on it before i heard the song i was thinking "I don't know" I'd loved Mystikal for years but his style is so brash and abrasive i didn't think it'd fit with Joe but damn was i wrong cuz this shit blends together damn near flawlessly with the Pharcyde sample and as much as i love Passin Me By...this one right here i think i love more... crazy it hit #1 for 4 weeks but it absolutely deserved the success..and overall Joe and Mystikal(just his music of course) are both underappreciated in their respective genres

I had to show my 21yr old nephew about this song because he discovered Pharcyde... didnt even know their song "drop" yet.. this was a fun experience. He started dying when mystikal popped up. He wasnt prepared for the greatness I was about to present him.

This guy was the soundtrack to my days 16-18 yrs old in college free and with different girls enjoying life. Legend and miss those days and thank you 🙏🏾
+It's A Crystal Life people don't know it's been uploaded? It's not like they have the radio and stuff to help promote it. This song is 14+ years old, but has just been uploaded last year. Regardless, I really like this song.
I love this song man… soundtrack for one of my favorite movies ever Double Take. Both the movie and this song is so underrated man… and idk why but I love the end so much with both of them walking away after they just crushed this banger 🔥🔥🔥
I used to stutter when I was younger. People made from of me when this song came out, and assumed I was always lying. Now, I am older and I love this song now.
