I would bet money that the 'potato throw' episode helped catapult the popularity of TM. It is one of the best moments on all of TV. The buildup, the celebration, and the complete gut-wrenching let down. Amazing.

Mine was seeing a moon with a face on it, remembering the Mighty Boosh Old Gregg skit someone showed me in HS and looked it up, just happened to find a channel with the entire series(was confused because we use seasons) of TM with Noel Fielding... It was love at first task. Never would have thought I could rewatch a British game show over and over, and over... And be obsessed with every person from every series. 👍👍

Part of what makes Taskmaster so funny is how completely unfair it is. How random and inconsistent it is. It's all in good fun, and Joe hammed it up and was such a good sport. Absolutely hilarious bit of television.

For those curious, the tasks that Joe won were the 'most important document' and 'best dinner party guest' prize tasks, the flat pack furniture team task and the shopping trolley task. Doc Brown also won that team task as well as the 'trendiest clothing' prize task, nursery rhyme and the potato tower live task. Sara Pascoe won the 'best clock' prize task, 'free Alex' team task, bread-anchoring live task and fast/slow motion task. (She only won less tasks than Paul Chowdhry because his team won 2 out of the 3 tasks)

He is the fifth worst contestant going by average score (tied with Phil Wang), while Katherine Ryan is among the top 10 if I'm not mistaken. Granted that was largely because of the rabbits-in-hats live task which awarded one point per rabbit, but that inflated Joe's score too

I'd consider Joe to have won 5 tasks, as he came second and got the bonus point in the pizza ordering task, resulting in 5 points alongside Jon Richardson. Plus he totally outsmarted it by simply asking the worker to simply say 'bubbles', which is lowkey his biggest victory on the show
@natmickan
@natmickan 10 месяцев назад
Agreed. I’m also not sure that ‘most/least tasks won’ is the best indicator of whether someone was successful on Taskmaster. By that logic, someone who came 2nd in every task would be ‘the least successful competitor’, but in doing so that same person would have beaten the majority of fellow contestants *in every task* AND would potentially/likely have a series-winning score :S
@iliketrains3495
@iliketrains3495 10 месяцев назад
@@natmickan Romesh totally supports your case; he only won 5 tasks, but came second in a disproportionate amount of tasks and ended up just one point off from winning; Frank was also the same, although he did win two episodes whereas Romesh didn't win any (losing two tiebreakers). Also the biggest factor there is Joe's series only having 5 episodes, when they expanded to 8 and then 10 later on
