I like that Joel started acting like a dad to Ellie almost the second he met her. Telling her what to do and making sure she’s okay when something crazy happens and when he didn’t want her to see the dead bodies and teaching her things like what a seatbelt is and how to hold a gun. You can tell that his dad instincts are still very much there after Sarah and he wants to close that part of him off but he can’t, seeing that Ellie is probably around the same age as Sarah when she died 🥺❤️
Rick gave Carl a gun when he was younger than Ellie. In a zombie/infected post apocalyptic society everyone would walk around with at least a hand gun 100% of the time.
The difference between her, and carl was that carl was ricks son, already trustworthy, the first thing ellie tried to do was kill joel, who's to say she wouldn't have done it again? not only that, but she is infected, so there's no telling what could happen, she could have been a very advanced form of runner, who could use weapons (which IS kind of what she is lol) also, she dont even know how to use a gun, joel knows this, and he didn't have time to teach her, seeing as how she's literally cargo that he needed to transport, her being cargo could also be bad, couldn't risk her shooting joel and escaping so she isn't shipped to the fireflies.
I still don't know how actors like Bella Ramsay, Garry Oldman, Hugh Laurie etc manage to hide their true accents while at the same time focusing on their performances. It can't be easy.
@@darth856 Same way some americans use a british accent, or aussie accent to hide their american accent, it's not that hard, although it could be a little harder when you have to focus on your lines, like me i dont know how to focus on two things atthe same time, so this would be hard for me.

I highly doubt it’s common in their world. All of the supply has most likely been raided by FEDRA and the Fireflies. Same in the game. You don’t get those rifles or their ammo until the ending.
@@damkylan3 Yeah ... Sometimes gameplay balance doesn't match IRL facts. I know nothing about firearms. But i guess ammo for (is it AR or M4?) semi auto assault rifle is pretty common in real life.
@@fajaradi1223 The point was that you don't get assault rifles until you're somewhere where they actually have them. Like... a paramilitary group that regularly fights with the apocalypse government, perhaps? Didn't think I needed to spell that out. Along with the fact that real life for us and "real life" for the citizens of a post-apocalypse that's been going on for 20 years is not the same thing either.
