Klatt mentioned the TV ratings being up several times so I went and looked and I think one aspect of it is big-time non-conference games being played. Of the 10 most watched games of the season thus far, seven of them have been non-conference games between Power Five teams: Georgia vs. Clemson - 8,863,000 Notre Dame @ Florida State - 7,751,000 Auburn @ Penn State - 7,606,000 Oregon @ Ohio State - 7,730,000 Alabama vs. Miami - 5,674,000 Washington @ Michigan - 4,748,000 Texas A&M vs. Colorado - 4,502,000 It's almost like people want to watch big teams play each other rather than watching them play teams like Mercer, Jacksonville State, and Central Arkansas.

Think about it also. Covid was in its prime last year and no one could go see a game. The seasons were short and all the conferences were wack. Literally OSU had like 5 games. Now everyone missed how college football was in 2019 and before so we are appreciating it more

@@thsu8 college football news needs one premier network of ahoww. There's too many teams, too many divisions/conferences and each are more niche than the more consolidated 32 team nfl. They mentioned sports being more interesting when it's not regional and regional is the logo of college football. Plus there's so little parity and so many awful games and scores. Just look at the handful they actually acknowledge

As a Spartan fan the concerns for Mel being hired were absolutely right. Mel tucker was thrown into the worst job in college football history. Dantonio stopped trying and there was 0 talent on the roster. He was hired after the portal and recruiting periods ended so he was stuck with marks entire team for year one. Then covid happens and he’s not even allowed to practice with his team until a couple weeks before the start of the 2020 season. And despite all that he’s got us rolling, I love the man

I went to the Joel klatt tornado game back in 2005 when he was at Colorado. His coach had a great line after the game "I know their the cyclones,but they actually brought a real cyclone so that was unique" something like that. Prolly not word for word. But yea that was a crazy game too

@@Born2BDown1981 I was 20 and sober. I remember that day like yesterday. Was very warm for November in iowa falls. Drove to ames in tshirt and some shorts knowing there was a chance of storms but you know not a tornado. Then there was like a 40mph wind straight outta the north and me and my buddy were up in the northeast hillside just freezing cuz we didnt have 60 dollars for a jacket. So we basically jumped and tried to stay warm that way. Then had to walk clear to maple and North 4th street which is quite a walk but got the blood flowing. That was one of the crazier games ive been to

While I agree, Wisconsin hasn't had a great history of elite quarter backs (only a few programs, maybe 5 to 10 have), it's funny how Colin forgets that his boy Russell Wilson really came to national prominence as the qb at Wisconsin.

Nick Saban doesn’t really make bad assistant coaching hires. Meyer had a ton of underperforming assistant coaches. Day mad a bad Defensive coordinator hire that’s hurt them. Dabo has been fortunate to keep the same great staff.

Immediately after the Joel Klatt interview, Cowherd made a comment about politicians, who control our lives and are totally incompetent. At first, I assumed he was referring to Joe Biden and Governor Newsom. However, Cowherd then stated that, “we had a president like that,” referring to former President Trump. His co-host, Joy Taylor (Miss Cleavage!) dutifully concurred. Cowherd and Taylor must turn a blind eye to the widespread poverty, homelessness and dysfunction that many Californians experience every day. Their perfect world of ski trips, gated communities, and private schools, is far removed from this reality.

I don't necessarily agree with Collin that USC or Miami needs a NFL caliber coach. I think Miami should go after Pat Fitzgerald, Klatt is right about him. If Miami is serious, they should add a couple former players to be position coaches, guys like Reggie Wayne or DJ WIlliams to come coach positions. Ken Dorsey is someone also they should look at really hard.
