I like to put it this way if you can't find the right people you're better off being alone until those right people show up... faith in GOD.... will give you the strength to go on that Journey alone of course in this world there's a lot of bad people that are going to want to hold you down just ignore them and have faith in GOD keep doing the right thing and be a good person and then inexplicably those good people start to show up that's what happened to me

Even when you set boundaries, some spouses especially men do not listen, they just ignore you, they continue with their disrespect of you, verbally abuse you and continue to speak to you in a rough, harsh manner using bad words to belittle you to upset you. So Pastor Joel is quite right, leave as soon you can. Why put up with ungodly spouses or people?

I tried ignoring it, I tried not being too allegedly over sensitive to it, and none of it works! tool allowed me to get rid of the most codependent bad friendship I had for a while recently and I think I'm so much for that legendary call to cut out the toxic clutter. Assertive boundaries, semi no contact, etc just doesn't work with this idiots. Life's too short to have fools like that in your life or my life. Good for you for also cutting up cancer that was plaguing your life friendship wise. PS--Once a formerly good GF starts continually giving that disrespect like you said, even if it's occasional or every once in awhile, it's too much and it requires dignity. The only way to get that dignity is to walk away. this whole let's work things out in group therapy was created by women who want to sit on the dole from their husbands while not giving as much in

You beat them at their own game. It's difficult, but the more they lose by trying to hurt you the less likely they will in the future.

I see cut them out. Because the mistake they keep making to you is keep continuing to hand you the scissors to do it. God removes people out of your life to protect you. So don't never after them to try to get them credit for nothing.

I know how you feel. People like joel osteen are just too used to being ABLE to distance themselves from difficult people. He doesn't have much experience being trapped so him saying "find happy friends" might as well be saying follow people who can afford to smile. Like him.

Just my opinion...as far as they don't cause you harm or stress it's ok to be friends with them
