​@Paradise Woodall I'm sure Jesus has already told you this but my post was a joke. I was just making a gag (excuse the pun) about how Joel Osteen makes me want to vomit. He should be preaching about the importance of indepedence and hard work when it comes to achieving success. But instead he preaches the opposite, that things aren't in our hands, but rather dependent upon fate or "God's Mana." Humility is a good virtue to have, but this is too extreme, it's a very poor life lesson to downplay the value of self-sufficiency and determination. You should "worship" through acts of self-improvement and hard work IMO rather than praying for God to give you what you want. View God as a perfect ideal that you want to strive toward, rather than a mystical force who grants wishes if you pray hard enough. Rather than have "faith in his goodness" we should have faith in ourselves to become good (and in doing so moving closer to God). Striving toward greatness is how you reach the divine and can truly touch it, not by listening to a hack like Joel Osteen who preaches eternal dependency upon him and his church. But hey... now I'm sounding preachy too... :P

I consider Lakewood my church even though I only watch on TV. I hope you can feel the same
