I won’t tune in for the 4th season. First The Witcher was taken away, then Superman was taken away so that a gay Superman could be introduced. You woke producers have no right to change what Superman represents.

Joey Batey makes a wonderful Dandelion. Apart from HC he is the best casting choice in the entire series. I hope his career goes far after this shitshow ends, he seems like a genuinely nice person!

The problem isn't that Henry is leaving the problem is why Henry is leaving. If he was leaving because he had to do another movie or he couldn't devote the time to it that would be one thing and we would probably accept another actor as long as they really stepped up to the plate but even if the next actor is just as good as Henry's we all know that the writing is about to go straight to the crap Hill and so we will have terrible directing terrible writing so it doesn't matter if the actors are any good or not because that's the exact reason why Henry left.

It's like how Sir Ian McKellen was so in love with The Hobbit and The Lord of t The Rings, that he wanted to stick to the source material, which Peter Jackson tried to do. The writers for The Witcher are absolutely refusing to do that.

I'm not try to disrespect Liam but i think the guy like him don't really care about the character. He probably do it for money. As for Henry, he accepts the offer to play as Geralt because The Witcher is his favorite books and game, he play the character well and really into the character. He even fought for it so the director won't change Geralt character writings.
Joey Batey masterfully answering the question as always, dude is smooth as hell in interviews, you can tell he was born to be a high level actor and do this on a grand scale. You can also tell that he is beyond bummed out and deep down, knows the series is doomed without Henry and probably even agrees wiyh the reasons that Henry left. But he cant say any of tyat cause they are giving Joey Batey the reigns of the franchise in that his presence alone is what allows for a spinoff to be a spinoff and validates a series to be connected to the main one. In reality, Joey Batey is literally the only good thing about the Witcher series other than Henry himself and even he deserves better than this bullshit.
Truth. Joey & Henry are the soul of this netflix series. I feel like a kid going thru divorce cus one of my 'parents' are leaving but I really wanna stay for the sake of this one 😂. Havent mustered the courage to watch Season 3, "Blood Origin" really saddened me 😢.
Yeah exactly, the prequel was pretty awesome, and I loved Jasker’s role in that. I’m sad that now he has to watch the show go downhill after that. If the writers wanted to be creative, the prequel was the perfect opportunity and they did a beautiful job with that. Oddly, the prequel felt closer to the spirit of the actual franchise than certain parts of season 2 🤦🏻♀️ They did NOT have to deviate from the source material for the actual main show, and now we all have to be disappointed because of that. Henry’s acting will be missed
And by the spirit of the franchise, I mean the prequel was more about love and a found-family overcoming evil, instead of all about sex and treachery. They did Yennifer’s character dirty after season 1, and I actually love the actress’s acting in this series, she’s perfect for the role, it’s just the script sucks.

Netflix should’ve fired the writers and literally just used the books as scripts and kept the show as close to the original source material as possible. Lauren promised adaptation of books, so netflix bought rights from Sapkowski. Fans are mad because of this that The Witcher is lauren's fantasy show , not the adaptation of book she promised.

@@samrider4258 Because being original and creating something of quality is much harder than sneaking in and desecrating established stories from within. Instead of having to build a fan base for herself, all she had to do was convince Netflix (who were more than happy to throw millions at projects pre-pandemic) that the Witcher property with it's built in fan base would be easy to attract subscribers to their service.
Not to mention, these books are a national treasure in Sapkowski’s native Poland. To Poles, this show is literally a bastardisation and a westernisation of their culture.

Im just worried that the chemistry between the characters is going to be affected. Henry's Geralt had great chemistry with the characters he interacted with (yen, ciri and jaskier, specifically) and i'm worried that Liam isn't gonna be able to pick that up

I'm pretty new to The Witcher, and I'll see if I like Liam Hemsworth as Geralt, but Henry is just an unforgettable face and voice that it makes it so hard to see anyone else playing Geralt of Rivia. I'm just starting to play the games and he is very, very good as Geralt. We'll just have to see what happens before we can say anything about Liam's Geralt
since the writer of the books even said henry is the face of geralt in a interview and he was happy/ok with henry's portrayal is impressive since he wasen't a fan of project red's adaptation but was more ok with the idea so for him to say henry is the face of geralt like viggo is the face of Aragorn in LOTR is high praise from him and a sign i think that they shoulda listened to henry more but since the writers seem indifferent to antagonistic about the books getting rid of the one dude who read and played both games and books isen't shocking. im hoping in the future henry might be able to make a deal with Andrzej Sapkowski to make his own adaptation and he can probs use the fact he is the only person on this witcher set to care about the books to make his argument abit stronger

It’s not just Henry it’s the bastardising of a beloved masterpiece. People wanted the Witcher not the yennefer or ciri show and before anyone say “You must not like women” shut up! That is a illogical argument that holds no validity. These two are amazing characters that people love, however they shouldn’t be made the main character that right is for Geralt. It would be like making a Pocahontas show but then tell more of a story about heir friends and Pocahontas only appears in the series twice? People would be right to say that’s nice but we wanted Pocahontas! It’s like the Godzilla film that came out that only has 10 minutes of actual Godzilla and the rest of the story about the humans, that’s nice but we want to see Godzilla!
Yeah I came out of season one thinking it was mediocre at best, but bc bc Geralt is an amazing character and Cavil is very passionate about the whole universe, it had lots of potential to improve going forward, and wow I couldn’t make it past episode 3 of season 2, so bad. You remove all the political agenda and this is still a bad show imo. But you’re not wrong the forced inclusion of other characters as protagonists in the story does hurt this show. I’m fine with people putting their agendas into shows they create, I truly couldn’t care less, I’ll just not watch it, but make your own show, don’t desguies it under a famous IP for viewership, leave it to people who actually enjoy the Witcher and actually want to make an adaptation of it.
Feel free to correct me, but this feels like a comment from someone who has played the games not read the books. In the games, Geralt is of course the main player character. But in the books, this is different. In the first two short story collections, it does follow Geralt’s perspective (largely because Ciri isn’t born yet and the story’s not about her yet either) but instead largely focusses on Geralt and his relationship with Yennefer. But Blood of Elves starts to shift this dynamic as Ciri enters the frame and the story becomes more and more about her as the perspective starts to shift more. In the last two books in particular we get a tonne of Ciri. But in Baptism of Fire, we do certainly spend more time with Geralt. And in some of the books, it can feel like we’re spending years of our lives reading about kings and witches debating about the future of the Northern Realms. However! I shall not defend the show even slightly. It is a bastardisation of the source material and also represents something of a cultural atrocity as it blatantly westernises a story and world that is very Polish.
@@Nikelaos_Khristianos you’re 100% right I am not a reader of the books but am a lover of the games. I have been told the same points before and I fully understand this argument. However, the problem is most people like myself are coming from a gaming experience not to take anything away from the books but it feels like the series did everything within its power to make Geralt as little of a character as it could while making Yennefer the main point then Ciri. Maybe if they had broken the series up into 4 parts where the first we follow Geralt then season 2 Yennefer and 3 Ciri with the 4th series bringing them together almost going in then they could go in the direction of blood of Elves would have made for a better and more satisfying and respectful experience for the fans. But that’s only my opinion if anyone loves this show I hope they do and they get as much enjoyment out of it as I have the games and I believe you have the books unfortunately the show just isn’t for me and that’s ok.

Sure, they can do whatever they want with the property since they paid for it legally, but any adult who respects storytelling, who respects writers knows that ethically and morally the story takes precedence over whatever bullshit the showrunner feels in the moment. The desecration of stories that millions hold dear is evil, pure and simple.

Sounds awesome. Can watch the Butcher tangle with all sorts of nasty critters both native and recently arrived from the Containers of Shipment. Fights might be a little underwhelming though, taking a big knife to a big spider and whatnot. Shooting a great white from the safety of a chartered boat after luring it to the surface could be fun I guess. Capturing a saltie and releasing it elsewhere since not all animals need to die, part of Gerald's bitcher code.

I think the stunts will be very hard to mimic Henry did a lot of his own stunts and looks totally badass fighting with a sword. Liam better train….. that’s if I still watch the show after this season.
It's not the end of an era they removed him under shady pretenses. That's the problem though. The showrunners clearly had no interest in doing right by Sapkowski's work. Respect to Joey Batey I liked his performance as Jaskier but I won't be watching season 3. No point with Cavill gone.

The Witcher lost majority of their viewers with Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry and then with the writers decided to not follow the source material means the show is 100% ruined because as we saw with blood orgin we know these writers can't write at all they couldn't write a compelling story, meaningfully characters or character developments, or even write a powerful story arc.
Honestly, I think most of us was gone by the time season 2 finished. God the writing in it is just awful, and everyone I've seen comment on Blood Origin has said it's even worse. I still follow the peripheral stuff because how badly it crashes and burns might mean some relative safety for future projects with established fan bases that Netflix might pick up in the future.
I think it will be fine. We just won't watch it, the show will lose money, the show will get canceled, and we can all forget it ever happened. "Burn Butcher Burn" ironically was referring to the show runners Butchering the source material and hence, the show.
Liam Hemsworth should run while he can, this a career killer. It's not the character that is the problem, it's the writing and the show running staff behind the scenes that will screw things up, then, being the face of the franchise, years later, when people talk about how bad the show was towards the end, all anyone will be able to place about it will be Liam Hemsworth's face, so he will be the fall guy.
The reason Henry left is because the writers, producers and directors are deviating from the source material and he doesn’t like it. Henry is very particular about source material. There will always be people watching the show, even if it deviates from the source material. These are the people that mock, and make fun of fans who are dissatisfied with the direction show is heading as a result. They’re the ones that say “your choosing not to watch the show post-Henry Cavill is not going to get it cancelled. You’re only one person! 😂”
