Yeah in a show. In real life it does not work. Edit: a lot of people lack common sense, from the comments it seems those people are mostly girls and the dudes agreeing are just coping. Literally watch any video on youtube, social experiments etc. When it boils down to it... IT DOES NOT WORK.

Fun fact : Matt Leblanc wanted his character with Lisa Kudrow's character , Phoebe , he felt they had chemistry and were good for each other , but the creators made for him Rachel and Joey...and yes he hated it ( i can't blame him for it ) and didn't want it ( nobody did ).

Honestly Joey and Pheebs have something rare and special; they've both made it no secret that they're attracted to each other, but they love each other as friends so much and operate on such bizarrely similar wavelengths that they're happy without having to take things further. A huge part of their charm is that despite probably being the most sexually active/casual of their friend group, they're so earnest, playful and wholesome with each other.
