As my husband was fighting lung cancer my heart was breaking thinking of life without him and feeling as I couldent continue without him my best friend introduced me to this couples music . Joey sang when I'm gone . I know God made it possible for me to hear this song.i have found strength from the words .thank you for words of comfort for my broken heart

One of the most amazing stories of the American Civil War. This song represents more then just this soldier. This tells the story of thousands of Men missing there wives, daughters, sisters, sweethearts, and loved ones while they were miles and miles from home. God Bless you both. This song had made me cry with tears of joy and sadness for all those men who suffered from homesickness and this Soldier of the South. This song is an amazing story

Joey passed away from cancer in early spring of 2016. I,ve listened to almost of their videos of " THIS LIFE WE LIVE", they are so good, some happy some sad. Be prepared too she'd a tear. The most videoed duo I,ve seen. R.I.P Joey!!!

Words can' t begin to express what an impact this girl made in my life ! I love her singing and her inward beauty ! God takes only the best thats what she was ! I cried and prayed for her during her illness ! I will never forget her ! May your body be at rest , your mind at peace , and your soul with God !

Forgive me for gushing, but it's exceedingly rare for a songwriter/performer to reach so deep into my soul and make my emotions bubble up so consistently. Seems like every time I click on a different Joey and Rory song, I end up with staring at my computer screen, mouth agape, usually tears in my eyes, or some other really strong emotional response happening. My mother's name was Josephine, so that's ultimately what led me to listen to this song. You two are a GIFT to mankind.

John Wesley and Josephine Robison's Daughter married John Newton Cooper. A few generations later my brothers and I are real grateful of such a beautiful song being written about our great, great, great grandparents.

@@maryrosegilman5799 She was born just before the war in 1860, and yes John Wesley Robison and his best friend William Ferdinand Cooper (my other GGGgrandfather) both made it home after the war. Both were captured twice, at Fort Donelson, and at the Siege of Port Hudson. They lived in Maury County, TN and moved to Shelby County just north of Memphis right after the war.

These two were the perfect couple . The love they had for each other is so easy to see. And then add Joeys effervescent personality and lovely voice and you have pure music from the heart. Had Joey not died from Cancer they would have been Superstars. Rory an amazing songwriter and rhythm Guitarist. Joey like Karen Carpenter amazing talents who left the world far to early. I could just cry when I think of how brave Joey was right until the end. A lesson for all of us

Didn't know that, so I searched Wiki finding the Collin Raye 2005 CD "Twenty Years and Change" with the song and Josephine name, happy to see it was written by Rory with an update for the His & Hers CD reference. Hope Wiki can change "witch" to "which" as it would sound better.

Sarah Thomas: BS was called on what Rory said. A farmer keeping cows in a pen may know best why you pull up pant legs before entering a cow pen where the excreta is deep. "BS is getting deep" in the comedy routine, pulling up pant legs, they are now ready for deeper (more) bs from Rory. I wanted to refer you to google, but couldn't find the correct explanation link.
