johan, griffith and pain are still the top 3 best antags for me in this medium , haven't read jjba pt7 but high hopes from it since they say funny valentine is a great antag
My personal top 3 villains are: 1) Johan (Monster) 2) Friend (20th Century Boys) 3) Griffith (Berserk) It’s very hard between Johan and Friend, only true fans would know if you’ve read 20th century boys.
@Red Kirigiri you misunderstood, the point was other villains seem quite Godly with those powers, yet they can not reach the level of just a human Johan." Kudos to the writer for that" this was the point I made, never knew someone would be too intelligent to not understand that
@Red Kirigiri picking problem in others comment in public platform where anyone can comment their thoughts is sure uncommon in people with common sense
He is the most scary shit i've ever read in a literature like manga, dude feels like a fucking supernatural force. I'm more scared of him than an actual ghost in horror stories. Fucking sent chills down my spine.
Now you are exaggerating There is nothing scary about an incel who is named a "manipulator" Strong men have a personality which will not be denied by anyone like this incel soyboy
@@Lightybruv This incel soyboy evaded the authority and terrorize the country for years and not even dead at the end. Have no qualms manipulatin even kids to do heinous crimes. He can target your kids, your family, your relatives without remorse. You like big muscular guy that much huh? lol, Guess what, Guts from Berserk and Thorfinn from Vinland Saga, nor Fujimoto from Golden Kamuy don't exist in real life either. You don't realize, in the narrative, Johann won, what are you trying to deny here? Why are you so edgy?
@@tuahsakato17 how am i the edgy here? You are literally scared by a made up fodder who in a made up story manipulated a made up world!! This is madness! I dont know about any berserk characters that dont exist in real life, but i know myself And if some incel with that teenager hairstyle tries to "manipulate" me,bro is getting smacked in the face I dont know what impression i left to you, maybe as the type to like an anime like baki The only animes i enjoy is probably dbs, naruto and onepiece Rest is bs Especially an anime where someguy named Tuah Sakato takes a character too literally and gets fucking scared by him. Bollocks and pure nonsense
@@Lightybruv "And if some incel with that teenager hairstyle tries to "manipulate" me,bro is getting smacked in the face", ....................... okay i think i'm done here lmao.
it was bad guys, but don't compare power and yes the antagonism of the character that muzan, akaza and douma will never reach what is the antagonism of Johan
@@priyangshuroy8865 yes there might be some people in real world who can manipulate others just with words and play with their psychology....... closest one are terrorist leader
Classic Anime Villains - Powerful - Goofy Ahh Hairstyles - God Like Beings - Will Destroy You Johan - Charismatic Genius - Gigachad Hairstyle - Only Human - Emotional Damage
I think that the most terrifying thing about Johan is the fact that he’s not afraid of death. He knows he will probably die in some parts of the story but he just don’t care
as a monster fan, i can agree with that. although i can tell that your statement "realistic villain" is arguable. don't get me wrong tho, I mean he's the true representation of 'absolute evil'.
@@vn9574ah no way he is a fucking human with just 250+ iq yet soo evil and deadly if he was real i would fear him more than a 👻 Bros mind is supernatural
@@walim204 Friend from 20 CB is also close on johan level also can you go to the last video of K.Y.O.KA i made there a comment hope you can comment on it
The point of johans screen time is that he is a invisible unnoticed darkness that even the most elite detectives couldn't solve, besides lunge when he realizes johan is a real mf
Johan's entire screentime is like 30 minutes but every episode he's there. Not physically, but he's there. And that's the beauty of Monster. Even without the antagonist most of the time, he makes his presence known.
The point of Johan lack of screen time was to show he exist anywhere. You wouldnt know that the guy who sit in your right or left side is a nihilist sociopath.
@Hisui Lmao, Iq has literally nothing to do with manipulation. Regardless of them being omnipotent or not, Johan can deceive and use them as he sees fit and have them fight the others. It doesn't matter what character you bring in front of him, the moment you see Johan, he looks harmless as a rabbit. His timid voice, clothes such that he can fit with any social circle and his all approaching smile. Who would think he is a threat? But, as we all know, devil comes in all forms and you will never recognize him. The moment johan opens his mouth, the omnipotent being cannot do anything. He has strength but thats all. He is omnipotent, not omniscient. But I might go as far as to say, Johan knows the deepest, the most ugly and filthy desires that posses men.
@Hisui Wtf? What are you high on mate? You seriously think a gag 2 dimensional gary sue character has better manipulation than Johan? Like, grow the fuck up. Oh and Johan's IQ is higher than that guy by leagues. I never mentioned it because he doesn't need to use his technical prowess when dealing with over confident bozos calling themselves omnipotent lmfao
Karim cap?? Johan neggs dio as an antagonist and it ain’t close Dio sucks at manipulation compared to Johan too keep crying monster is a masterpiece 💀💀
What makes Johan such a good antagonist was that he never cared to win. Everything that happened was just a game for him and if he truly tried he’d never be beaten. He’s so much smarter than everyone they’d never catch him.
@@Liberator- I love Hunter x Hunter, it was actually my number one favorite anime before watching Monster, but please, don’t compare Pariston to Johan. Even I have hopes for him... But Johan is on another level. He is evil. But what's worse is that he's actually likeable(at first).
@Xay okay but the video isn’t about who neggs the verse. It’s about character writing and development and story. By the way johan would still manipulate obito and make him suicide because he has no meaning of living cause there is no rin😂. Just like the way he did it to a child
@Xay Everything he did seems realistic, what a human could do. And the fact that everything is realistic makes him THAT much more scarier. Would we be scared of an Aizen? Or a Frieza? No because we know for sure that even if they exist in some corner of the universe, we would have a 0% chance of meeting them. But someone like Johan Liebert possibly could exist among us, living as a normal likeable citizen. The realism is what makes him that good and that much scarier.
@Xay he is not weak minded😂. He doesn’t even flinch when he kills people. How is he weak minded? It’s nihilism a moral belief that nothing has real existence. He believes in that. And wtf you say kamui johan?. So what he kamui? Johan is still better written villain with no superpowers.obito is such unrealistic character(superpower aside)he kills so many people and yet gets forgiven for his sins. Gets happy when meets rin in afterlife but forgets he has taken so many lives for such trivial things. Who would forgive such killer in real world?
All I can say is that Johan is the best writed character to the point where he competes with Joker's story and psychopathy. Let away all other anime characters they don't stand a chance against Johan.
@@Bandit.Chrollo Joker has one big flaw which is sometimes his character is portrayed differently many times for the better or the worse, there are variations of the Joker which could be considered a masterpiece in writing and then there are variations of Joker which are just above mid.
@1TheHonoredOne i watched it but it was a bit disappointing. You don't see the details of manipulation and technique like in death note. Just the fact that he "manipulated them".
Johan, fyodor, aizen, overhaul, Griffith, makima, Kira(jojo), the dark triad, chrollo, and izana(Tokyo revengers) are my favorite anime/manga villains.
@Forced_Altory we each know that we will never be as cool as him and I see we have very different ways of coping.... I never said I wanted to do what Johan did. Just have the same level of intelligence and charisma as him. Your way of coping seems to be a condemnation of those who would want to obtain that kind of strength.
@Forced_Altory I am aware of that. I thought the humor in my original comment wouldn't have to be explained. Since I thought you were taking it literally I decided to explain the bit of truth that was the source of the joke.
Not the kidderheim actually, johan is a monster since he was born, kidderheim is just another playground for him, remember he manipulate every single person on kidderheim and made them kill each other, Johan is just super evel to the extent other people see him as a monster, he was shot by a drunk guy because he looks like a demon. A nameless monster or a emotionless monsters
Johan is the best writed character in anime no doubt. But people should realise why Johan and Ayano are comparable at some points. Johan, after all his complexity as an character philosophy, he is a genius psychopath. In real terms, a psychopath have different perception on feelings, also different visions. But yet, they still have feelings. They're program just work definitely different. Personally, I would be more terrified of a genius without feelings. In the real sense without feelings. Like, there is no way actually you can bully somehow someone without feelings. Also someone as this can do everything against you without no effort of emotional damage. But the scariest part is where you are no able to hurt them.
Aizen can't beat but can stay on his level, Aizen is one of the Anime Antagonist who doesn't need a Pitiful background story, But still a straightforward badass and has massive impact in the story even after he got defeated on his arc, yhwach consider him as a threat, and it is rare to have a antagonist like that
My name is Yoshikage Kira. I’m 33 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Morioh, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as an employee for the Kame Yu department stores, and I get home every day by 8 PM at the latest. I don’t smoke, but I occasionally drink. I’m in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of warm milk and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were no issues at my last check-up. I’m trying to explain that I’m a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight I wouldn’t lose to anyone.
My favourite anime villain (or in this case manga) would have to be Friend from 20th century boys. Which is hilarious as he was written by the same guy who wrote Johan
Y'all, we have to admit that Johan is a better villain than Griffith. Not because he was better characterwise, but simply because Griffith is meant to be a "neutral"/anti-hero type of character, especially after the Fantasia Arc.
As an anime enthusiast, imo Johan is the arguably the best villain of all time. The man literally runs the government in the shadows and responsible for wide terrorism. He even praised as the next Hitler when even a child. Dark Manipulation at its finest.
@@boogus1670 He is way better than johan, please do read 20th century boys Friend 1>Johan>Friend 2 That's the correct ranking, not even a single character from any fiction or irl is even close to friend 1
Ppl don't like tenma at all? Tenma is a good protagonist i think. He didn't had high iq nor power nor influence but his ideals never changed. His doctor instincts never change
Yeah. I can see no one saying that they love Tenma, so I will say it. I LOVE DOCTOR KENZO TENMA. And truth be told, if he killed anyone in the anime, I would stop watching it. That’s how much I love him. And Mr. Grimmer, too. Love them both, and I’m very happy that he didn’t change.
@@bluedragon1181 Wrong. Dude literally controls governments out here with his genius level intellect, and you say knowledge wise ayanokoji is superior?
@@bluedragon1181 He sure does. We are talking about IQ here mate. He can learn things far faster than your sweet wet dream crush who you think knows everything when that's a big fat lie. Koji doesn't even know what common sense is due to the fact he was in the white room.
@@ryandelmundo4965 lol he is just stupid.. 20th centuries bois is a manga you must read it has the best story and antagonist is on next level . I bet he is one of those guy who think demon slayers have the best story 💀💀
"No need to have any special abilities, no need to be an supernatural being, no need to be an devil or even an GOD!" All is need, are just an ordinary man, to become an absolute terrifying MONSTER!
For me, I'd say Johan and Griffith are tied. Both are simply great villains and shall not be compared to one another. Both contrasts the protagonists of their respective series. Both are the drives of their protagonists pursuit. And both are the dominating force of their story.
I would say Kira =< Johan. They are very good villains and they both may very well have a real life counter parts. Of course Kira has a bomb creating imaginary friend and that lowers him in my eyes but his fetish for a body part and wanting to live a quiet life in the shadows is very much a real thing with killers irl plus many killers have trophies of their victims. They both are S-tier villains because they feel real and that makes it scary. (Side note: the author really compared Johan to Muzan Akaza and Douma 💀)
@@bigboi2394 explain to me what makes Johan so great ? He’s a good antagonist but he’s overhyped. His goal was to basically be the last man on earth and have tenma kill him to create the perfect suicide but then got deterred to killing Bonaparte and the town of Runhenheim. Dude basically is just fascinated with death and his goals are quite easily deterred.
The thing is: With magic power asspulls you can create all kind of manipulation or pressure to people, but if you are mere human like Johan, then u are a real goat.
